Sweet, I like very much. What program did you do the 3d renders in?

 

3ds max, rendering in Mental Ray

 

Now, these are lightsabers! And honestly, you might just have made them a little cooler, designwise. And thank you, you just made me decide that I am going to save up to get the Rabiosus made.

If not for a few details and how long it is, it would kinda look like Ryan's hilt on RvD2.

 

Hey, Benny, is there a way you could pass the project files over to me so that I could dissect them a little bit

 

Well to be honest, there wouldn't be much point. It's just a bunch of cylinders with various parts cut out and all that, then i merge them into one file to put the hole for the blade in the middle...
So it's just the hilt, the floor, 1 light and yeh. Still, talk to me on MSN if you want them =P

Evil-Henchman, do a bit of designing yourself... You never know, I might like something you come up with

 

I like the saber design Ben. I would add more variation in the ring size so the center tube isn't as thick in some parts, but it looks great!

Oblivion
This one is a WIP. I just can't decide how I like the combination of silvers and blacks.
At the moment, #3 and #5 are my favourite...

Those are some nifty lookin sabers you got there ben. Only problem is a few of the photos are "deleted/removed from photobucket"

 

Yeah I know, I manually did the links/image tags whilst they were uploading and my net cut out...
Check back in 5 mins or so and they'll be there..

In other news, I made a compromise on Oblivion and had a darker silver instead of black for the inside thingo...

The first and last Oblivion's are sweet. However, I would add an activation matrix as well as blade length adjust switches.

Again, I would also consider making some of the inner shaft thinner, a little similar to Luke's in ROTJ as far as width variation, more variety in width within the hilt, it looks as though it need 3DD batteries to work. But still looks good.

I put a few knobs and stuff all over the place, but it just looked weird to me =P
As for the variation if it was any bigger it'd be a bitch to hold and fight with, haha.

Not too shabby for a 1st attempt!
It's a little bit short for my liking, and the end needs a bit of cleaning up, but otherwise I'm liking it!

Ben used 3DS Max, while I was stuck with C4D . Ofcourse there are more possibilities to 3DS Max but I still tried . We both made the models in about 10 minutes and here is my result, with NO MENTAL RAY :

Tried to make it look more metal-like and I changed some of the top pieces. Pay particular attention to them, Ben . It's still not as it should be, but at least, it's not so round .

Isn't that just the coolest saber hilt you've never seen?

This is the first time I have made screw-on fake activation buttons and it may be the last time as they are a pain to make. Quick to make but still a pain.
