that's because they're almost entirely made of tape. the clawed one especially. aside from the buttons, the emitter (peices of a hard drive and a cable connection), the lock on the pommel (from the lid to a lightabre-shaped candy holder), some plastic pail lid in the claws, the carboard tube it's built on, and the various peices of garbage it's stuffed with to weigh it down, it's all tape.

Wait, at randomsabers.com, it says fan film sabers are for duels. Don't stunt sabers do the "stunts"? Because I want to get a saber that is for a duel. And it says its a FanFilm saber.

Wow, for tape-sabers those look pretty darn good o_O

How well do they hold hope in a fight is what I want to know. ;)

they don't, they're not hollow. if i were to fight with them, i would make new ones that are more simple, but resemble the originals when in motion.

    like this one: [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/neomp5/hilt8.jpg]

oh yes, i forgot to mention the badminton birdie i used to make the darth maul emitter

If I were to break off the original blade on my Star Wars Episode III Anakin Skywalker Lightsaber FX saber prop. what would be the best way to just install a polycarbonite, PVC , or dowel rod in its place.

I hope you mean "break off the blade" as in accidentally 'cause you could just unscrew/take apart the hilt to remove the original blade.

You will probably need to modify the inside of the hilt somewhat so that you can have the blade go farther down inside the hilt and you may need to build up certain parts of the blade with tape so that it fits snugly. You will probably need to secure the blade with screws as well. Not necessarily going to work well but with some ingenuity and creativity I'm sure you can get it done.

Of course I mean accidentally LOL. I am not gonna break the blade when its a perfectally good prop with interactive lighting and everything to make movies with. when it breaks I will just figure out a way to do it. Hopefully r1ce will tell me how he did it with his :)

like i said, you should make a duplicate, like this:

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/neomp5/hilt10.jpg

when you're fighting, the hilt is not the focus

never much liked those. very plain looking, unoriginal. they all seem like imitations of this:

Yeah, something about a pommel on a lightsaber hilt makes it look complete.... And a good emitter.

    Might as well post mine.

    [image=http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/3153/newhilt1ds.jpg]

This was made from an old umbrella pole, an EMT clamp, an EMT hangar, a PVC coupler, a showerhead, foam tape, a red tack, and rivets.

Total time to make this: 2 days
Total cost to make this: $0.00

That actually looks pretty nice for $0.00. Does a blade fit into it? If so, what size/material?

Well if i grinded out the threading in the PVC coupler i could fit 3/4 inch PVC in or 1 inch OD polycarbonate into it and use the screw that is already in the coupler to hold it in place. I am actually gonna try selling it on ebay so i don;t really need a blade.
