I talked to Genghis about this, and he said there hasn't been a thread about Ooryl for quite some time. So here it is! That's right, this is a place for the fans of everyone's favorite Gand pilot, Ooryl Qrygg!!

He's a Rogue Squadron veteran, and long time wingmate of Corran Horn. Not only is he a fantastic pilot and marksman, but he earned the right to address himself with the pronoun "I", which is a enormous honor in Gand Society.

So come on everyone! Join the fun and talk about Ooryl!

Ever since I read Rogue Squadron I have held Ooryl in high esteem i don't know why, but he is just a brilliant character...he's quite naive, but not in a bad way...

Gaeri liked what Stackpole did with the whole calling yourself "Gand", then earning the right to be called by your last name, then first, then use the first person (but only rarely). Gaeri thinks more people should talk in the third person.

Wouldn't it be cool to see Ooryl fight a Vong? he could battle him to a standstill in space, and then go to hand-to-hand combat. The way Ooryl punched through Stormie armour in RS, the Vong don't stand much chance!

Well, since Ooryl is Rogue_Ten's namesake, (Rogue Ten being Ooryl's callsign in Rogue Squadron), Rogue_Ten should join as well.

Ooryl is Rogue_Ten's favorite secondary character in Star Wars, hands down. I've even been using this Ooryl icon since I started posting on these forums a year ago.

EDIT: Rogue_Ten thinks we should have Gand oriented titles, like ruetsavii.

Rogue...Jedi wishes to join the club as well. He took his name inspiration from Corran (although admittedly it fits others as well) and likes anything to do with Corran, especially his wingmate.

How about this as a conversation stimulant: Why is Ooryl better than Zuckuss?

 

For one, Ooryl sticks to his convictions. E.g. Zuckuss joined the Rebels, but left soon after. Although Zuckuss is cool too I like the think he can do to gain premonition.
