I'm not sure what imaging is, but if 'save for web' was a file option in 5.5, (I can't remember! [face_blush] ) then look at this pic:

    [image=http://dukdog.freeservers.com/pshop.jpg]

hope that helps a bit... (and that you can read my handwriting!! :D )

Okay boys, I hope you can help me. I just got the new photoshop 7.0, and have never had one before. I'm doing well, but wish to the ends of the earth to use brushes. I've uplaoded some, but don't know where to go from there. Please, can you just walk me through uploading and placing them to/on ps. (I know it would be a long walk-through, but you could show off your wonderful ps skills couldn't you?)

    Thanks,
    Heather

    *BUMP*

Looking through this I found some of you have problems with doing Lightsabers, so i'll give you all Ryan W's (from the Fanfilms Forum) method for sabers in Photoshop.

Firstly get your image loaded up on Photoshop then go to
    Layer>New Layer
Then set the mode to screen and then check 'Fill with screen Neurtal Colour (Black)', then OK it.
Now set your colour to white and select the line tool and then draw your saber right on there. Then go to
Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and set it to '1'.
Then duplicate your saber layer by going into
Layer>Duplicate Layer BUT don't do this once to it three times.
Now you have three layers that are like this
    Core
    Glow Part 1
    Glow Part 2
    Glow Part 3
    Background
Choose your first glow layer and go to
Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and set it to '10' or whatever pixels you started with for your core (ie. If your core was 10px your Gaussian Blur would be 10)
Now go to your 2nd Glow layer and give that a Gaussian Blur of 20, then go to your 3rd Glow layer and give that a Gaussian Blur of 30 (you get where I am going now with the Blur numbers).
Now you have a glow but where is the colour, now Merge all of the Core/Glow Layers so it is one layer and your background to do this use Command + E (on Mac) or Ctrl + E (on PC)now you can change the colour by going into
    Image>Ajust>Colour Balance
Now punch up (or down) the midtones and highlights for the colour you want and also make sure 'Preserve Luminocity' it checked. Then go into Image>Flatten Image and now you have a great looking lightsaber that looks better than most of the ones i've seen on the net :p

Or you could use the brush tool and just paint it. It's more fun that way too :p

    Helllo,

How can you make someone's picture look like they're a hologram?

    Thanks.

I'll try and explain for you....

    1) If you want a human figure to appear as a hologram, cut the figure out and put it in it's own layer.

    2) Tweak the colour's of the figure by going to Image> Adjust> colour balance.
The aim here is to make it more blue.

    3) Turn the opacity of the figure down

    4) Give the figure an outer glow by going to Layer> effects> outer glow.
The glow should be a white/blue colour and not too intense.

    4) On a new layer (that should be placed over the figure layer) do a series of lines going horizontally, using about 3 sades of blue. Once the lines cover the figure, turn the opacity right down so that you can just see enough of the lines.

That should be about it hopefully, it may help to have a black background while you do it so that you know exactly how it's looking.

Hey I am only a padawan learner,

Does anyone have instructions on how to add the lightsabre glow to an image using photo-shop?

I would appreciate it if you would post them here.

I have the lowly Elements.... I have it installed in two computers in my house and one is working perfectly but I'm having a problem with the other. Out of the blue, my type has disappeared. It isn't a matter of just enlarging the type either. No matter what I do there just is no type showing up! The little curser is there, moving along and stuff, but the type is invisible. Any ideas?

I'm so out of date. I found 5.0 on my computer and have been using that, since my dad is too cheap to get 7. [face_blush]
