We have a video game forum along with a Role Playing Forum. I would of also thought Fan Fiction Resource, the problem is off site material isn?t allowed there. However you may be able to post that at Fan Sites.

If this fits to a board than to this one. But I would send the mod of this board, dp4m, a PM with your question. This way you're on the safe side. :)

Go to the Adoption thread (I think it's called Adoption Version 6.3)and ask for a master. (btw: my master is a sith, but he is very nice)

It might take some time. It's better if you know a free oldbie (the people which want to adopt) good, maybe he asks you. Or you should tell them something about you, so they know you better. You could also PM one of the oldbies and ask him. (Unfortunetly I'm not long enough at the boards to adopt)

To get a master? That's difficulty to say. The fastest way should be to pm one person of the free oldbie/adopter list. But you can also have luck and get a master soon, if you just tell you wish in a post in that thread.

How fast do you want a master? :)

Edit: Or what she^ said. I'm just slow. ;)

Well, my master agreed to adopt me on page 115, only if you wan to read it. I knew him before, I think that was the main reason he agreed.

And until you find a master, you can always ask your questions here in this thread or pm one of us. :)

I have a question about the rules/TOS. I know that no inappropriate content can be posted or linked, but how many links away is safe? i.e. right now my personal webpage links to my LiveJournal, and some links from there might not be okay. So do I need to take out the link to my LJ, or is the extra step or two enough to make it acceptable?

I'm guessing that after a point it doesn't matter, since even a link to, say, livejournal.com eventually links somewhere not kid-safe, but was curious about how that worked.

    Thanks.

In my view it is save if there's no obviously "bad link" on the site you like to link (and of course on the site itself there shouldn't be any thing that's not fitting to the TOS). But I also think that this is a question, that's better answered by a Mod and maybe by the Mod at whose board you want to post such a link, because some boards (mods) are sterner than others or handle things in a different way (even if it is just a small difference). :)

Okay, that makes sense. But I'm asking here instead of to a particular mod because it's my profile link, not something in a certain post. I did check over the TOS and stuff but didn't see any definite answer.

If it's just some swearing, it'll probably be okay. If it's pornographic (which it isn't), or anything like that, then it wouldn't be acceptable. I've seen people post links in the YJCC that goes to sites that have some swearing, and it's fine as long as there's a warning next to the link.

Thank you. That's really the only stuff that would be questionable on the first linked page, though a few links out (like on friends LJ's and another linked page, two links away) the case is different. I'll add the warning in my bio just in case. (don't want to cause any problems, yanno)

Sure they can. At least in all non-private (=normal) boards. But even oldbies can't post in most of the private boards themselves, because most of the private boards are only Mods and so on. ;) :)

Why do you ask? Or is there a certain board you're thinking about?

Is there a way that I can learn how to post well, fast? Other than this thread, of course. :p

Nope, sorry. Every forum has it's own culture, and lurking them for a bit, and moving slowly through the social threads and things, is the best way to get a feel for how every one of them handles different style posts.

Social threads are threads like the "Newbie Welcome Party", "Pillowfight" or "Hug a Newbie" at WNU. There you can meet the people of a certain board and get to know each other. You can talk or fight with pillow or enjoy the hugging or just socialize yourself. ;)
