The Official Sock Bounty Hunt Game Thread (v1.0)

Welcome Everybody to this Groovy Game!

In this game, four players create socks and hide in the WNU forum. You the public are too seek out these socks and expose them for who they really are!! Then you are to catch them!!

A game moderator will tell you the players user names. You must find their socks. They will leave hints to their true identity in their posts.

Please help bring these socks to justice!!

Below are the rules and more game explanations.

Rules:
- There are 4 players at a time
- The public may know the identity of the players Username, however the sock names are unknown
- The public has to try to match sock name to username then catch the sock bu posting directly behind him/her in a thread.
- No Pms are to be sent to someone you suspect as this is SPAM. If you suspect a sock, PM the Game Monitor.
- If you correctly guess the identity of a sock (If the GM you PM tells you that your guess is correct)..then you are to catch the sock by posting directly beneath him/her
in a thread. You must stay on topic of the thread and you must use the word
Gotcha in the post
- The person who catches the sock, will then be ?it? and will then make a sock.
- No welcome threads are to be created as this is also SPAM, which is not encouraged
- Socks may post whereever they choose. However, socks must make 7 posts per week in the WNU forum.
- When a sock posts in the WNU forum, (as is required) the sock Must leave hints in every post. No exceptions!!
- Socks' posts must stay on topic of the thread they post in.
- If at any time a player does not wish to continue on with the competition they must post so in this thread

Rewards:

- If you catch the sock then that sock will then add you to his/her WUL (Watched User List)
- If you are the Sock remember to add the Person who guessed you to your WUL
-You will get the option of being a sock in
the next game for catching the sock
- Successful hunters will also be rewarded with a personalized forum announcement.
- You will recieve an animated gif of a Star Wars Bounty Hunter catchng a sock.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do socks leave hints?

Socks that are hiding are to leave hints of their true identity.

Hints can come from anything that is available to the public about the four players. This can be from:
- Their BIO
- Their Signature
- Their Previous Posts (from the past 7 posts only)

Here's an Example: Say I have a sock named Darth Howser MD. I may post in the pillow-thread saying:

"Oh I'm hit with a pillow! I fall into the Abyss!"

There's a hint , as my signature mentions an Abyss.

How does the public match the hints the socks leave to the real user?

The true identities of the four players will be revealed for each game. To catch their
socks...the public needs to "study their files". They can
- framiliarize themselves with their bios
- watch there movements (their posts)
- Study their signature

This is what true bounty hunters would do.

Okay! I have correctly figured out the true identity of a sock. The Game Moderator has confirmed this. How do I catch the sock?

This is mentioned above but I thought I would describe this in more detail.

Socks need to be caught not just exposed.

An analogy from the EU: So what if hunters
discover that Vykk Draygo is simply an alias of Han Solo. While an alias in a valuable piece of info..the Hutts want a person not a name.

strategies for hunters
-- Once you have exposed a sock..keep its true identity to yourself..or else you some other hunter might step in and catch the sock after
you have done all the detective work. If a sock is exposed to the public and is not yet caught..its fair game. Anyone can then catch this sock.

By the way, since Darth-Floyd's run was so short, I say way do the idea I had about not only exposing the sock, but also catching him.

I believe once you discover that person's sock, then you are requested to place them in your Sock's WUL.

Those are some good ideas Skiara!

But since we started the game this way we should finish it this way.

But I like the idea of "If you know who the sock is to keep it secret" Send me the PM then I will tell you right or wrong. If right, then you have to try to post right behind the sock in a thread with the word
"GOTCHA"!!

For now, for this game, I guess we continue with the "expose sock to everyone" first then
the one who exposed the sock should try to catch the sock. That way all socks play by the same rules for this game

So yes, Skiara.. only you should try to catch
Sigma-Six.

And Lord-Vader..if you want to and if Princess-Padme wants to.. you should try to catch Princess-Padme.

I can't make this mandatory since it wasn't outlined in the rules..so I will leave it up to each team of "Catcher-Prisoner" to decide if they want to continue with the "Catch asock in a post" idea.

But both you Skiara and Sigma-Six seem to be for it so knock yourselves out!
