As we are about two weeks from the start of the season, I thought I'd look at a preview before the opener October 10th against the Ducks. There is, as I see it, lots of questions this season.

1)Will Chris Pronger's injury significantly hurt the Blues in the first half? This is an oppurtunity for young guys to step up, such as Van Ryn, or Jackman. Do they have the talent? Yes, but I need to see some games to judge better.

2)Will Brent Johnson take his game to the "next level"? Most experts agree that he has a LOT of talent. However, can he continue to build on his performance in the playoffs last year? I really believe that he can, given the defense around him.

3)Can this team mesh better than last years? Larry Pleau virtually did nothing over the off-season, stressing that they needed to improve from within. No question they have the talent. Tkachuk, Mellanby, Demetria, Weight, and the rest are extremely talented. Tkachuk has assured the media that this team is ready, well-meshed. I'm inclined to believe him.

I'm very excited about the Blues this season. Last season, they were expected to contend for the Cup. This year, the pressure is somewhat off, I believe that will play a big part. They will surprise people more than they think. So, come on in, and discuss the greatest team in NHL history!

I was at the game. At least it was more exciting than last year's home opener.

I went to 4 games last year. They won all of them. The bad thing about last night was it was the Ducks! I mean, we should have won that.

I know this doesn't have too much to do with the Blues, but I was Ken Wilson's (announcer) daughter's pre-school teacher. He's kinda quiet in person.

    GO BLACKHAWKS! :p

Tonight, the Blues won a BIG game over the "improved" Dallas Stars, 5-3. And, while I was gone, they won over Columbus 7-1. If they keep this up, I'll grow obese on tacos. [face_plain]

    Blues record: 3-1-1-0 7 pts.
