    Order 67 replaced the tapioca pudding with rat poison. It also permanently removed Matlock from all broadcasting systems. Either way, the ancient Jedi were made extinct.

    This was posted in the episode thread, not sure if there's anything else floating around.

    Just the barest hint of blue. Man, poor old Jedi, first his hair went gray, now his saber. Maybe they make a little blue pill to fix that.

    With the analogy to a monastery, I would think they would have a lifetime commitment.

    I took Sinube as being like an old retired policeman who has nothing better to do than hang around the Police union hall, lecture recruits, and take naps.

    I thought he looked a lot like these guys:

    [image=http://www.gobblin.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/RalphAlphandGandalf.jpg]

    Not gandalf - the two lanyrinth riddle guards

    [image=http://www.ericaustinlee.com/wp-content/uploads/labyrinth_guards1.jpg]

    The pale blue sabre was brilliant, especially a return to a more contained fighting style, with great economy of movement - it reminded me of Obi-Wan in the cantina in ANH - quick, ruthless and suddenly over.

    An awesome character in the great tradition of aged samurai legends.

    Like koonfan, he instantly reminded me of Jetfire(actually, my favorite character from Revenge of The Fallen). Very cool guy, nothing seems to bother him and yet he's on top of everything. And how he subdued Cryar was also cool.

    I LOVE Sinube. BEST JEDI EVAR. Even my mom who doesn't like Star Wars liked him.
    He does indeed look like one of those Dark Crystal bird guys, but he also has a lion head and tail.
    Hopefully we see more of Tera.

    A thought on the saber color...could it be that the crystals in it are wearing out? Like Ahsoka and Anakin's blades are bright in color since their sabers were recently built, but I imagine Sinube had his for a long time and the color's fading(I got this thought when someone mentioned about Obi-Wan's blade in ANH)

    Although this thought probably has no relevance if like Yoda's saber is a bright color(unless he has built several of them over his long career..)

    Again, just a thought...

    I'm watching the rerun of Lightsaber Lost and I giggle like a schoolgirl at Sinube's "So you're saying there was something 'fishy' about him" pun every.damn.time.

    At first I was worried about him being a doddering old man character, but they did a great job of toeing the line and making him very unique.

    And the cane-saber was just kick-arse

    I liked this character so much that it depresses the hell out of me to think that he's probably going be Order 66ed like almost every other Jedi. It will be something like Ki-Adi Mundi's death. He'll realize something isn't right and whip out his cane-saber in an awesomely badass manner, quickly dispatching a half-dozen clones, but it won't be enough as he is overwhelmed by the horde of clones around him firing their blasters at him.

    Or maybe he'll get away like Yoda and Obi-Wan managed to. One can only hope. [face_worried]

    At any rate, I am really interested in finding out his fate. Great character.

    Speaking of Order 66, as much as I love the Jedi (I really do like Sinube) and hate the Sith, I don't want any more surviving Jedi.
    I disregard any material that says that anyone other than Obi-Wan and Yoda survived the Dark Times. [face_peace]

    I just chatted with my friend who is knowledgeable about such matters, and he says that although there were lots of Jedi who survived Order 66, they were all hunted down and killed except for Yoda and Obi-Wan. So if he's right then Sinube is doomed even if he makes it through Order 66 somehow. :_|

    I liked Sinube, but he reminded me of those Mystics from The Dark Crystal film. That and an annoying camel.

    Good episode.

    Arawn Fenn? Is this the best time for you to be pulling the EU card? What with the canon discussion we were having in the other thread? ;)

    I agree.

    One of my favorite things about this character, his fighting style and the whole episode that featured him was that it was all very minimalist in a Star Wars franchise that has become increasingly over the top and explosive. I like George Lucas' big visions, but when you temper them with some minimalist scenes of importance, it adds contrast and emphasizes the importance of both the big and small scenes. And sometimes the most impressive thing is a character like Sinube or ANH Obi-Wan (or Vader facing Han in ESB, for that matter) who can win a big fight without seeming to do anything. Paradoxically, it's big because it's small.

    I really thought Yoda would be more like Sinube, before I saw the prequels, and I was disapointed by how over the top (and in my opinion borderline goofy) his fighting style was. I'm not saying I wanted Yoda to be just like Sinube. As we get to know the character of Yoda in ESB and ROTJ, he has his own unique personality that could have been complemented by his own unique fighting style, but I expected him to use wisdom and cunning to defeat physically superior enemies, rather than just jump higher than them.

    I also liked Sinube because he's a character we've never seen before possibly from a species we've never seen before, which is a refreshing change for a show that usually pulls its Jedi characters from preexisting material. Whether Sinube survived Order 66 or not, the best thing about the character, from my perspective, is that we can wonder about his furture, which automatically makes me care more about the character in an immediate, emotional way.

    I thought the stereotypical old detective aspects of the character made him enjoyably recognizable, especially because they were not overdone, in my opinion, and because while conventional for detective fiction, these character traits do not show up often in Star Wars, which made the episode a fun exercise in mixing genres.

    The caring thing is very true. Sinube is the first character whose fate is not sewn up that I would really care if he died. Whether it be Order 66, Vader's hunt or some other fate before that I'll be sad if he dies.
