I sure wish they did.
Maybe it would filter out some of the pr0n.
At least maybe a filter that always lets through known 'good' senders (by username) and automatically rejects known spammers? I guess I'm surprised about the spam since you have to register at the Archives to submit. Can't the spammers be rejected by cutting off their registration?
I look at my e-mail at my ISP's website and if I make anything as spam anything from that sender is automatically blocks afterward. Unfortunately, the spam always seems to come from different senders.
You have to register to get to the fic submission form, yes.
Sending to the editors' mailing list email address just requires... email.
If it's at all possible to get whatever tech support you can to narrow the allowed senders to the editor's mailing list to only registered users, then that could help the problem -- I think people would understand the need to cut out the spam. But alas, the e-mail addresses on the editor's list would already be compromised if you're getting spam now. So, you would have to change all editor's e-mail addresses to make it effective.
Are the editors e-mails sent 'bcc' (blind carbon copy)? That hides the mailing list e-addresses in the e-mail and the header so the spammers can't harvest them.
You're getting pr0n? Are you sure it's not just really bad fanfic?

Ooh, I love that cover for "Protocol".
Now that the holidays are over, the reviewing queue at the Archive is low. It's a great time to submit a story, if anyone is interested.
I'd love to submit a fic, but I can't find any beta-readers.
Well, you can always email our beta list or post in the thread here on the boards.
I've seen some people edit their story's thread title to ask for betas, if the story's posted here on the JC.
You could always try the [link=http://boards.theforce.net/fan_fiction_resource/b10304/22308091/p1]Beta index[/link].

For their first anniversary, Jaina and Jag share a romantic getaway for the winter holidays. Part of the same AU storyline, this story takes place between 'The Courtship of Jagged Fel' and 'Chandrila Surprise'.
I knew you'd get there eventually.
And it's a good story, too
I'm sad to announce that both LLL and MariahJade2 have stepped down as editors recently. We'll all miss them and remember their contributions to this place.
Please join me in thanking them and wishing them the best.
Between the two of them, that's a lot of time given to the Archive. Thanks, ladies!
Thanks to both of LLL and Mariah for all their hard work
Wow!! I already saw LLL leave the red, but Mariah is especially a shock, since she's been around so long.
Thank you both for your hard work!!
Thanks so much for much time spent in the service of us authors.
Aw, shame to see them go. But stellar work on the Archive during your stints, both of you.
Thanks guys. This was the first place I landed when I signed up. You've given me 8 years worth of great stories to read and it's you who deserve the . Keep sending those stories in and keep the newbs busy.
