I've played the new one, for free actually as I pressed the start button and the thing starterd playing. So the Force was with me that day, I guess.

As for the old one, it was pretty revolutionary at the time, or so I heard. I read about in High Score where there's a picture of George Lucas playing it.

BTW, have a read of High Score It's well worth it and a great trip down memory lane.

Silent Hill and Fallout 2 are both very high on backlog of older videogames I really want and need to get around to soon.

FIFA 2007? I'm not much for sports games, but the impression I have is that the Winning Eleven franchise kicks FIFA's ass.

Soul Calibur III I have not played, but I echo Soontir's sentiments about PS2 exclusivity and I don't think it looked like a big leap from SCII, which I own.

Star Wars: Empire at War is a very mediocre strategy title and it's expansion's presence on the list is the first sign of how this list will be poisoned by it's location on a SW message board.

I don't feel this list will be as poisoned as the Books list.

Sorry about the Star Wars arcade. It wasn't specified in the nominations list and I was confused as to which one it was...the '80s one or the '90s one.

I loved the Star Wars arcade game. Full-cabinet was best, imo. Playing Star Wars was the first time I heard digitised speach in a game - I remember wondering whether it was recorded on some kind of disc or tape inside the machine.

Civ II is technically the best game ever. It's written in stone. God himself said it to Joseph Smith, Christ, Moses, Buddha(thou Buddha didn't believe him) and Jeanne D'arc.

I leave for Washington D.C. on Saturday, and the next couple days are going to be busy.

However, I will try to post the next ten today or tomorrow, or maybe do two posts (10 games each) on Thursday.

Regardless of how I spread it out, I hope to have two more posts before I leave.

"This game is awesome. It took elements from basketball simulations and brought them to the street, and it worked phenomenally. You could create your own baller, put him (or her) on the court, and watch him grow into a powerhouse. Everything was right, and it still is. Pwnage."

"My brother and I played hundreds of games of this with our two monster teams. There's something about a game of basketball up to 21 that features almost 50 blocks and regular shot clock violations. My first PS2 game and I still bring it out on occasion for some slammin' and jammin'."

Hey Yane, would it be possible for you to put what system each game is on next to its title? For example:

    NBA Street (PS2)
