ya gotta beat the best, but you don't want them in the early stages. The idea is to peak in the later stages. We're gonna have to hit the ground running and then keep that pace up all tourny. And we've been decimated by injuries. It's really not lookiong good to be honest. But on the bright side, when Sven took over, we didn't even expect to qualify. 2006 was our aim. I just want the young players to get some good international experience over the next four years so we can win in Germany. How cool would that be?

I'm gonna treat this one as a bonus. As long as we do better than the germans. and beat the argies. and france. and brazil.

 

I might put some money on England, only ever made one bet, it was earlier this year when Grimsby played Liverpool I had 2-0 to LIverpool with Folwer scoring first, so Grimsby went and won didn't they!

 

I'd love for us to stuff the Italians. I really would.

but, like you say, 2006 in Germany would rule.

I much prefer it when the WC is in europe. Is it just me or is the picture much better?

 

the world cup should only be played in Europe..... Every 20 years Brazil or Argentina can have it. But that's it.

 

I don't mind where the put it really. As long as the time difference is ok. Germany in 2006 and RSA in 2010 is ok. USA 94 sucked big time. 2002 is even worse.

 

USA 94 was okay, some of the matches were played when you got home from work for example...

 

They've got some nice stadiums out there though.

I hope Sven's around in 2006. I'm presuming he's building towards that after he said he'd pull players from the U21's instead of established internationals like Anderton and co...

I agree chet. I think it's all cut and dry. Man U wanted Sven, he probably said he would like to do it but wanted to see England through Euro 2004 to set the next manager up for the 06 world cup. So, Fergie sighen up for 3 more years ready for Sven to take over.

He's probably already signed a pre contract agreement.
