Challenge The Official Write/Rewrite Challenge: New Challenge posted 2/8/12

Heads up: a new challenge will be posted Saturday morning!

 

New challenge: Someone commented to me earlier this week that the difference in perspectives on a horrific event from each side is something that can make you say "Oy." Write any scene in any era this time, dealing with that principle. Show me Vader's perspective at that lunch on Bespin, Darth Maul at Naboo, Rukh at Bilbringi.

 

I'm going to try and write a story. Depends on how life goes for the next few days.

Congratulations to the inimitable earlybird-obi-wan! Next challenge...well, we'll see. After Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

 

New challenge: Each of the movies starts in media res--in the midst of things. Take the opening scene of any character and write how they got there. For example, what made Han go to that cantina? Did Luke lose a bet to pull that shift on the tauntauns? Where were Anakin and Obi-Wan when they heard they had to guard the Senator from Naboo?

 

I'm making it August 15.

 

Hmmm... This IS a challenge... who's life do I stick my nose into?

"Now the Jedi are all but extinct." Ben Kenobi to Luke Skywalker in A New Hope

Interesting Ben would make a comment like that considering all the Jedi were supposed to have be wiped out by Darth Vader at this point in time. Of course he knew Yoda was still alive but the quote leaves room for the very real possibility of other Jedi still being alive.

Your challenge is to write a scene starring a survivor of Order 66. The character can be cannon or your own OC, whichever you chose. Time frame is also up to you. You can write about their surviving Order 66, an average day in their life with Emperor Palpatine ruling the Galaxy or perhaps a chance encounter with Ben Kenobi or even Luke Skywalker. The options are endless.

For those of you who have an existing character who has survived Order 66, yes, you may use that character but the scene must be new.

Deadline for submissions is one week from today, Monday October 3 at midnight board time.
