Well... I'm going for E3, so it'll mostly be computer and video games. :p
I might be able to get some rare stuff at a hobby/collectable shop if I happen to see one, and provided that it's not shaped like a gun or too big.

PM me if you *really* need something that can only be found in the US. ;)
(I admit, I kiss up to the people with coloured screen names...) :p

E3 is overhyped, crowded and noisey as a wookie in a karaoke lounge. It's ok if it was free, but the us$245 entrance fee is a rip off, imho.

Anyways, the website is http://www.e3expo.com, all your questions are answere there. Yes, you can use a search engine to find that URL as well.

DE: I guess I'll do the online ordering thing for you since I couldn't find your 'thing'... honestly, I didn't walk around looking for it, anyone who has been to downtown LA will tell you why. Besides, I didn't manage to get a kevlar vest this time.
Seriously, I was diving and I didn't feel safe on the streets. [face_plain]
Remind me please if I don't get back to you, I'm using a dial up modem on a laptop and I have to catch a flight back to Seattle in a few hours. It takes like an hour to drive to LA International from my friend's house in the valley.
    (I hate dial up...)

of coz its interesting, but the price is....nuts. my fren, sg's under21 fencing champion, told me 10 lessons cost $150 or something like that. excluding equipment which would prolly cost roughly the same as kendo gear.

Original Trilogy Lightsabre fighting is more towards fencing.

Prequel is a mixture with one of them being Kendo (eg: Maul is more towards Wushu).

Anyhow, don't take up the martial art just because it's related to SW. From what I understand, Kendo is more than just about fighting using the kendo stick or katana; there is also a spiritual and great disciple side to it.

uh, no? the trilogy had kendo elements wat, in fact kendo sparring can be said to be similar to the fight between vader and kenobi in ANH. onli more agressive and loud

here's the lowdown on the cost i had to bear when joining kendo:

    Shinai(kendo stick): $65 (jap import)
Gi & Hakama: $238 (jap import)
    Bogu (kendo armour): $618
    Bokken (wooden sword): $21

monthly membership $10 to be paid yearly lump sum ($120 for seniors, but $60 for beginners, 6month beginner's course, $10 registration fee)

there are cheaper/more expensive alternatives, but it depends on your budget and preference.

It was stated in one of the articles that Fencing Techniques was used, especially in ANH.

But when it comes to SW, you got to hack at others instead of poking so that may unintentionally turned out to look like Kendo rather than fencing. ;)

Or, if you want a flashier lightsabre technique, go learn tree-chopping and tennis. :p

nice one clare, indeed tree chopping and tennis was used as well, haha. anyway i'm more pro-jap martial art, hence kendo.
