A good point. The early Dessel stuff -- the sabacc game, in particular -- was superb. Still holding out for a Gloom Walkers book, someday. Or a GoW-esque videogame....
there is now a preview on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Annihilation-Star-Wars-The-Republic/dp/0345529413 Looks good so far. I just don't want them to destroy the 'Ascendant Spear' or Kill Darth Karrid. While they probs will blow up the ship I really hope the new Darth lives, too many died in SWTOR and it gets very old very quickly. there is also a preview on random house http://www.randomhouse.com/book/212712/annihilation-star-wars-the-old-republic-by-drew-karpyshyn
Was hoping to win a copy off of the Star Wars Books facebook page (it worked with Apocalypse...and Omen though I already had a copy of that), but alas, no free book for me. And since I have all the other TOR books, I feel obligated to pick it up, especially after people are saying it's good.
Well I preorder it on amazon all I got to do in wait for 5 more days to get it on my kindle app. I think Theron Shan is interesting character especially since who his mother is and trained to become Jedi since he was born probably only to find out that he is not force sensitive and can never become a Jedi has got to be tough.
I found an link of to a review of this book http://thefoundingfields.com/2012/11/swtor-annihilation-bane-of-kings-and-shadowhawk/
Don't get me wrong, I actually like most of Drew's books, but were those guys members of the Official Karpyshyn Fan Club?
I really respect those guys for the good work they do with Warhammer 40k book reviews (here's a shout out to the Heresy Online forums while I'm at it!) but I would be stunned if this book came anywhere near that level of quality. I'm always open to surprises though. I can't help but feel that the reviewers may have a different opinion of the author, and maybe even this book, if they had read the travesty that is Revan.
"Annihilation is one of the best, if not the best Old Republic Novel, and I’ve read all of them apart from Revan."
Step off Lethal Alliance sounds interesting and Deceived was alright albeit I would have still preferred Luceno and Gladiator Malgus
No, the best line is: "...a highly impressive novel that cements Drew Karpyshyn alongside such SWEU greats as James Luceno"
What if it is really that good Zor? What if cows fly? Drew is not a bad author but honestly he is no Luceno. edit: so Knight have you got the book? Any one got any spoilers? what is being retconed? Is the JK going to be Revan's second coming? I laughed when they compared Theron to Archer, I can now only see SIS as ISIS: TEFF'ITH, TEFF'ITH, TEFF'ITH!!!! What! He he he, I said thank the Force for small miracles. GAHHH
I'll probably read this book after Lost Tribe of the Sith. I actually am interested in Theran, a bit.
I just got the book this morning on my kindle app this morning have not read it, I will try to later on today.
