    Didn't Satele age though?

They changed her clothes and personality, but its kind of hard to say how much she aged. After all, this was one of her original character art.

Well, it doesn't help that the game engine isn't exactly the most detailed, and then they ended up making her a kind of Bastilla clone in-game. I've forgotten but it really has been forty years since the Sith Empire returned. Of course as a Jedi Satele could age slower or faster depending on how hard her life has been. Maybe next time she shows up she'll be more helpful and less crazy.

I expect the surviving Zakuul characters will be left behind on Odessen to watch the base while the Outlander and Lana (and maybe Theron) go back to handle galactic affairs. Well, after KotET I knew the only way to go for the "Outlander" was down as they had already basically ascended to galactic rule, so of course the Gravestone and Eternal Fleet are shuffled off the board. And I'm not going to miss Zakuul, hearing them go on and on about Valkorion got annoying.

Whether they can write a decent Republic vs. Empire story, after they haven't really done anything like that since launch (as both sides have been more busy fighting third factions like Hutts, the Dread Masters, Revanites, Zakuul, etc.), well, we'll see.

I'm wondering if the MMO ends in some mass genocide of the Sith species. Because it's noted (in-universe) by Mace Windu in one of the guidebooks (Maybe in Book of Sith?) that they're not around by the movies.

My personal theory is that the war just never stops. It keeps going and going and more and more planets run out or resources and eventually we wind up in a galactic dark age with no winner.

As logical as it may be for TOR to drag all the way up to the Darth Bane Trilogy and the Ruusan Reformation, Darth Ruin rebuilding the Sith from nothing is still Legends canon and they should lead to that, unless Story Group has completely abandoned any sort of Legends canon regulation in favor of Disney canon.

Like I said 2 pages ago, Bioware should test the waters and add into the main quest where the Outlander needs to make a choice to kill a dangerous baby Superior Neurologically Overclocked Kinetic Experiment and see what happens. I'm guessing Story Group is even less stringent on Legends oversight than canon (and the canon Marvel comics have had a few hiccups already, calling Anakin a Jedi Master, making Tarkin have white hair circa ROTS, etc) and this will slip right past them and into the public. ;)

To be honest, I think it may just be time for them to accept that they’re doing their own thing, and to do it. Like, screw it, Legends is over, they don’t have to play by it’s rules anymore - end the game with the Jedi and Sith merging or the Republic falling or whatever. Blow up Tatooine! Break expectations.

I wish KOTOR was set during the New Sith Wars. That way, Revan could have been the character who became Ruin, and TOR could lead to Ruusan. We'd have a clear origin for the "Darth" title and red lightsabers and the difference in technology between the Great Sith War and the War of the Star Forge (I hate the name "Jedi Civil War") would make sense. Vitiate could be a Kunite/Brotherhood of the Sith Survivor if they want to include him.

Yeah I would have loved to see more of the era given all the things that happened, the Sith wars, major plague, break down in communications. It was pretty much the fall of the Roman Empire in Star Wars.

It's possible this era will be explored in canon, but different from Legends. We know in canon that the Sith actually took Coruscant and the Republic outright collapsed, something that didn't happen in Legends going by the Darth Bane novels.

Too bad Star Wars Galaxies isn't around anymore. They could have put that Vader fortress onto Mustafar.

Ruin unified existing Sith factions and tribes, which had been on the rise for two centuries prior to the New Sith Wars. It has not been a case of Ruin rebuilding the Sith from nothing since the Force essential guide released around the same time as LotF: Sacrifice.

Being as have Darth Desolous, cultists in Kruskan, Morn and Phobos’ cult still in existence in the centuries prior to Ruin, the Sith were hardly in hiding. Just beyond Republic territory maybe. The Paecian Empire could easily be a Sith donain.

Knight Errant takes place just a few decades before Ruusan and the total defeat of the Sith (with only one survivor: Darth Bane). Between Knight Errant and Darth Bane, the Sith Lord known as Kaan united all the Sith in the Brotherhood of Darkness, creating a unified Sith entity again.
edit: Just checked, about 22 years between Odion's death and Kaan's rise (32 years between Odion's death and Kaan's death, but Kaan began to rise a decade before his death according to Wookieepedia).

The New Sith, also known as the New Sith Empire or simply the Sith Empire, was a revived faction of the Sith Order that existed throughout the millennia-long Draggulch Period. The faction arose in 2000 BBY due to the machinations of Darth Ruin, a Jedi Master who initiated the Fourth Great Schism of the Jedi Order, becoming a Dark Lord of the Sith. Amassing a multitude of like-minded disciples, Ruin founded a new empire of the Sith, clashing with the Galactic Republic and the Jedi in the New Sith Wars. The reign of Darth Ruin ended prematurely due to the instigation of his backstabbing followers, setting a treacherous precedent that would plague his successors for many centuries. Nonetheless, the New Sith had emerged into a bloody age of galactic expansion, eventually giving rise to a new leader—the shadowy "Dark Underlord" and his marauding Black Knights. Even with the Dark Underlord's defeat by the Jedi, the Sith crusades persisted, further expanding their territory and power base.

Over five hundred years after their resurgence, the New Sith achieved a crushing victory against Republic and Jedi forces on the planet Mizra, provoking mass Jedi defections and a continued streak of Sith domination. In the wake of this upturn, the tyrannical Darth Rivan rose to leadership, creating a unique brand of warriors—the Battlelords—in an attempt to curb the string of betrayals among the Sith. This venture met an abrupt end, however, after Rivan and his Battlelords were entrapped, and ultimately destroyed, by a Sith artifact called the Darkstaff. In the last centuries of the New Sith Wars, the reigning Dark Lord Belia Darzu created an army of mutated cyborgs—the Metanecrons—during the two-decade Sictis Wars. The end of this period saw yet another Sith victory, but not before Darzu's demise at the hands of the Mecrosa Order.

    By the
advent of the century-long Republic Dark Age, the New Sith had all but completely eroded the strength of their ancient nemeses. Despite the Republic's imminent collapse, the Sith ranks devolved into a period of discord and treachery, plunging their empire into a civil war. Throughout the Republic Dark Age, a number of Sith warlords took control of their own independent dominions, continuing their violent conquests against the Republic, the Jedi and each other. The fragmented New Sith remnants endured a phase of perpetual turmoil for some time—although still collectively dominating the galaxy's Outer Rim—until the intervention of the renegade Jedi Skere Kaan in 1010 BBY. Declaring himself the new Dark Lord of the Sith, Kaan conquered the warring Sith enclaves, reorganizing them into a faction called the Brotherhood of Darkness.

I was reading the "Jedi Path" book, which is an in-universe book found from Palpatine's belongings in the ruins of Byss after Empire's End in Legends (Funnily enough, I was reading this book pretending to be Rey and pretending this "Jedi Path" book was the sacred Jedi text I stole from Luke. :p . It makes for a fun game, you trying to figure out what these references to Katarn, Cilghal, Jacen and a reborn Emperor in Luke's scribblings were about--I pretended they were adventures Luke had between 6 and 7, that he had a wide Jedi Order all killed by Kylo, and Palpatine returned and died like in the EU but without the Anakin Solo or Solo twins.).

Anyway, I had a question on this. The EU makes Ruusan seem lost. Jerec doesn't know where it is until he gets a map. However, in this in-universe book, owned by Yoda, Dooku, Qui-Gon, Anakin, and eventually Palpatine, there is a map with Ruusan outright marked! In-universe, how was its location ever lost?? How come Palpatine never tried to get the Valley of the Jedi power? Or at the very least make a pilgrimage to Kaan's last stand?

Maybe it was one of those 37-odd (including Kamino and Dagobah) deleted from the Jedi Archives. The map might not be detailed enough to narrow it down any further than to an area a few hundred light-years wide.

Dooku was the one who deleted the archives though. Thus he (and Palpatine) should still know where Ruusan is (and thus the Valley be open to their use), unless Dooku really was dumb enough to delete the planets without having some kind of copy for himself and the Sith.

Maybe over the centuries, lots of planets have been deleted by different people, with Kamino's deletion by Dooku being just the latest.

Hence Yoda thinking he'll be safe from the Sith on Dagobah - which he wouldn't be thinking if he knew Dooku had deleted its location but he and Palpatine knew exactly where it was.

Hmm that's a discrepancy I never thought about (why would Yoda hide on Dagobah if the Sith deleted it?) I think that Bpfasshi dark Jedi who went bad circa the Clone Wars, who was mentioned way back in Heir to the Empire, deleted Dagobah from the Jedi Archives and the Sith had nothing to do with it. That's how Yoda went to Dagobah to kill the Bpfasshi Dark Jedi and create (or reinforce if that Minch Star Wars Tales story is canon) the Dark Side Cave.

Funny how all these disparate elements can be made to fit. One of the things I love about Legends, as I'm fairly sure Zahn had no idea about planet deletions in the Jedi Archives when he was writing his "Bpfasshi Dark Jedi killed on Dagobah by Yoda" story in 'Heir'.

They don't seem to be using the Tales of the Jedi characters much. I remember when this game was announced, I thought that the Sith Emperor was Gav Daragon, who survived his supernova death through the Dark Side. It would have been neat over what we got--some super-powerful villain that we never heard of before who also gets killed multiple times just to survive through the Dark Side.

Vitiate was supposedly around during TOTJ and it's supposedly the same Sith Empire that was in TOTJ, but it sure doesn't feel that way. I wish that they either tied things in to TOTJ by having the Sith Empire resemble the one from TOTJ and be ruled by a character from TOTJ or they didn't go through the pretense of claiming it's the TOTJ Sith Empire and is ruled by someone who was around during TOTJ.
    I did.

    SUMMER ROADMAP

    Hi everyone-

This Roadmap coincides with my first full year as the Lead Producer for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ and I’m excited to have the opportunity to share our Summer Roadmap with you. As I’ve mentioned throughout the last year, the team’s priority will continue to be providing fun story-driven gameplay with a variety of multiplayer Star Wars™ battles while making Quality of Life improvements. We recently released Game Update 5.9 – The Nathema Conspiracy, which brought an end to the Traitor storyline. We hope you’ve enjoyed your interactions with Theron Shan.

We’ve met with a lot of players, influencers, press, did Livestreams, held Cantinas, received lots of emails and private messages, and reviewed the feedback on our Forums and on Social Media. As a result, we’ll be making a lot of changes based on your feedback, beginning with our PvP plans this summer. At the end of the year, we’ll introduce an exciting new storyline and multiplayer gameplay – all leading to an explosive conflict with new characters to meet and planets to explore in the new year.

    Quality of Life Improvements

From our perspective, having a quality experience every time you play the game is as vital to the game as new gameplay experiences. This means we’re looking at ways to enhance our game’s systems to make it easier to add new gameplay by advancing the utility of our internal tools, improving Game Servers and augmenting tech infrastructure. We are also focusing on continuously improving gameplay features based on player suggestions to refine Galactic Command, augment the Conquest system, and improve Ranked PvP.*
Based on your feedback, we made substantial changes to Galactic Command which is now a very solid secondary gearing system. We are turning our attention to Guilds, their management tools and related competitive features. This includes the Guild Conquest system we rolled out at the end of March 2018 and we’ll continue to refine and improve them for Guilds of all sizes.

A key piece of feedback we’ve received is that more of you want to provide us with feedback prior to the release of an update. This was extremely valuable last year for both Galactic Starfighter and the Gods from the Machine Operation. The interaction between our developers and players was extensive and made a serious improvement to the quality and functionality of both. As a result, our plan is to give more players the opportunity to participate with us on our Public Test Server (PTS) in the testing of pre-release gameplay including some of the PvP changes planned this summer.

With respect to updates, here’s what we have in the works for you over the next few months:

Game Update 5.9.1 – Solo fun

As we all know, Solo: A Star Wars™ Story, hits the theaters on May 25, 2018, so we’re celebrating by bringing back the casino with our Nar Shaddaa Nightlife event and offering a variety of new Cartel Market items including a sale of Scoundrel specific items. All of this will be available starting on May 22nd for 10 days, including double XP, CXP, and GSF rewards. The Nar Shaddaa event will continue through midnight on June 30, 2018.

Also, don’t miss your chance to get your hands on the new ‘TF-4 Rampage’ Speeder by being a Premium Player on May 31, 2018. Popular on the black market, this industrial mining vehicle is the perfect vehicle for criminals (and heroes) on the run! Your new speeder will be delivered via in-game mail by June 9th.

    Player versus Player

Starting with a Game Update in early July and continuing through September, we’ll provide a variety of changes for some of our most passionate players who love PvP. PVP is enjoyed by many players, so the team wanted to give this group a bit of focused development time to provide requested changes and new challenges.

Here’s the list of improvements we are planning:

    PvP over the Summer:

    • Convert more, if not all, of our Warzones and Arenas to allow cross-faction grouping.
    • We’re adding a new Arena set in a compound you’ve seen before.
    • We’re developing a new Huttball Warzone set in the dangerous and dizzying heights of an industrial planet.
    • Deliver a new Stronghold with a beach-front view! Now, you ask, what does that have to do with PvP? In fact, quite a bit:
      • For the first time, we are introducing a Stronghold designed around PvP which can be tailored toward Player-driven dueling, 4v4, or even 8v8 battles! We know there’s a passionate audience of PvP players who run their own dueling tournaments within their Strongholds, so we want to support that by making some under-the-hood improvements and by tailoring the spaces to support different styles of play.
      • As with all Strongholds, you can decorate it anyway you like, but we’re also enhancing Stronghold decorations to support PvP gameplay. This means you can use decorations to hide behind, layout obstacles, which allows the owner of the Stronghold to create a huge variety of custom PvP layouts to use in battles amongst friends.
    • End of Season 9! Right now, we’re scheduling this for July and will let everyone know the rewards in late June.
    • We’re investigating ways of improving the experience of all Warzones.
    • We’re taking an in-depth look at our unranked PvP matchmaking system overall to see what kinds of improvements we can make to better ensure every match is a good one.
    • We’re also exploring giving unranked players more queue control over which Warzones and Arenas they want to play.
    • We’ll be focusing attention on exploiters, cheaters, and adjusting how Ranked Warzones complete. This will be an on-going effort, but like all of you, we want Warzones and Arenas to be fair, competitive, and fun.
    Beyond September

For our Story and PvE players, you have not been forgotten and coming this Fall, along with the return of some very cool Companions, and big updates for Guilds, we’ll introduce a completely new storyline that will kick off a new set of challenges and adventures that will continue into the new year. That’s a highlight of the things you can expect to see in the coming year. Keep your eyes on Twitch, social media, and our forums as we continue to release more details around each update. Feel free to reach out with questions, as always, we’re listening and learning from you.

Thanks everyone for your continued participation with Star Wars™: The Old Republic™

    -Keith-
