Yeah, I probably did jinx myself somehow. I know there is an exercise coming up. 12 hour days in chem gear and it goes over a weekend, hooray. But, I already knew about that so that doesn't count as a jinx.

It's probably DRL. My real life is actually quite boring right now, but I'm also in a heavy lurking mode.

 

Mid-semester = death, at least for me. I'll reemerge after the month of exams is over.

I've got a crazy job and am waiting to hear about getting into the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

 

Yesterday was my 8 year anniversary on the JC. Nov 21, 1999, I discovered theforce.net's Jedi Council Forum's Fan Fiction section.

Awwww, JG. I miss her. And Amidala_Skywalker. And JaneJinn..

 

Yeah, I miss JaneJinn terribly. And Amsie was one of my first Padawans. And JG was the random mod who just up and betaed my 400-page submission to the archive and did three cover arts for it.

 

I miss Jane, too. She was such a sweet lady and a great writer. I understand she pops in at fanfiction.net once in a while.

 

The turnover rate around here is astounding. When I got back from being a missionary, only a couple of my friends were still around.

 

I've seen many come and go as well. Yet, I still hang around.

 

I can't wait to see people start hitting their 10-year anniversaries here.

 

I've got another two years to go there.

I joined April 2000. Back then we had the old UBB (I think it was UBB?) boards. I joined just for fanfic.

 

I joined while very bored in Boston in 2001.

 

I joined at the urging of several friends who have since left... *sigh*

 

Well, I probably would be a newbie here if it weren't for the fact that JediGaladriel was writing The Penitent and she stopped in the middle and went "You can find the rest at boards.theforce.net." I immediately went to the url and signed up for an account just so I could read and reply to the rest. Then I found out I could also write here.

 

I came at the urging of a friend of mine to join a discussion in the Ampitheater on heavy metal. Unfortunately for him, I got waylaid in fanfic and never made it that far. I'm not far behind you, Mi!

Ah, I remember the SnowBoards. They were horrid.

So many fantastic writers I miss...

 

Today was a long day after Round 2 of the Westroads Mall shooting and a nasty snowstorm. I'm hoping my brother will get out of practice soon, so we can just chill to the last episode of Firefly and watch Serenity. Thank Almighty the local news networks are giving us a reprieve and letting network shows come back on and the radio is playing music again, so I can chill a little before going back to work tomorrow. For the most part, I think our cities are handling this fairly well.

Bleh. I have a feeling that next time I watch EpII (which rarely happens), Anakin's whiny rampage on the Tusken Raiders is going to be a little too reminiscent.

Just wanted to say 'Happy New Year' to everyone

The whole Talon Squad revisted thread made me pause in the middle of trying to assemble some sort of set work for my new classes (that's right- I finally have a full time teaching job in Australia) and decide to visit the fanfic boards again only to find that this thread had fallen off the page!

So I hope that everyone had a fantastic Christmas and a good New Year

P.S: I can't actually remember when I first came to the boards. I know my original Kithera username was lost in the Great UBB Crash but I don't remember when I signed that up either.
