    No job too small,
    No Hero too Ridiculous,

    We get the Job done!

    ...Eventually....

"Mystery Men? Oh you mean them guys over in Champion City? Yeah, I've heard about them."

"Yeah...Real fancy nancies who fancied themselves as Heroes. They seemed to do a bit alright though. But now, everyone wants to go and get in the Superhero game. Cant walk 20 feet without dripping over em, some places got so many of em. Course, some jerks wanna play the bad guys too. Fine with me. Just gives me someone, who's butt I can kick!"
    - The Blue Maverick

Its five years after the famous (infamous?) group known as the Mystery Men banded together to save Champion City from the evils of Casanova Frakenstein, and the Disco Boys. A ragrag team of superhero wannabes, who somehow managed to come together and save their city.

It was enough, that other cities started letting a few others try. The local police departments are already busy with normal crimes. They dont really like it, but When 'super villains' started to appear, they started asking for help. Actually, the cops see them as costumed vigilantes, and as 'cannon-fodder', so they have no problem sending them in first. But

But hey, who ever said it was going to be easy....

Now, you too can be a Superhero. You can decide to join together to become a group, or try and fly it solo. But remember, being a super hero dosent let you off the hook. You must still abide the rules as well...unless you are a Villian. Now it is your turn to show the city what you are REALLY made off.

    ... Hopefully, not literally.

    ===========================================================================

In this game, you can choose to be a Superhero, and help out the citizens of Omni City. You can also choose to other side, and become a Bad guy. Or you can be what would be known as a sidekick, someone who wants to learn from others. The pay might not be great, but you get lots of recognition. And press.

But it also gets you enemies. Both super, and not so super types. So your character must watch his step. No genius types here. No billionaires with unlimited funds. No major mutant abilities. We aint the X-men. Nope, we're your simple Joe/Jane Does who had found out that they have a 'special?' ability or talent that they have put to use, in either fighting crime, or becoming a part of it. You can also be a regular civilian, or someone who builds those fun toys that superheroes need.

Any equipment you have, you have pretty much journey rigged, or altered to make it work for you. Be creative. But you may find other things along the way, to help power you up even more.

    Wont you join us?

    Notes:

PM all character sheets to me for approval. Do Not post your sheet in the thread without approval from me, because your character WILL be ignored until you send me a sheet for approval. If you can't PM because you have less the twenty posts then visit this thread.

The GMs word is final. If you disagree with a decision I make, please PM me. If you have complaints PM me, and we can discuss it. Dont clog up the game.

Even in this realm, your character might die. (More so actually, with all the crazy powers running around.) ;) So you may run up to two characters, or have another character ready, in case something bad happens. Or we can come up with something else... *Evil grin.*

Appearance: Stands at 5'8 and is seemingly quite weak. This frail appearance masks his competency in using hammer and mace type weaponry. He has bright silver hair that clashes with both his civilian outfit: Think the suit from Thriller, and his villainous costume: A marching band conductor uniform that is bright orange and black.

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he always feels he can instantly gain the upper hand in any situation.
Bio: Tormented throughout his childhood because of his girlish name and scrawny figure, Meredith found solace in music. Yet even that only served to fuel the ridicule of those around him. His melodic voice was not the most masculine of feature one could have, nor was his position as conductor for his high school marching band. Yet it was in High School that he discovered something, when he sang it began to have an affect on those around him. He could control them, force them to join in on his world of music. He then entered a life of crime, wanting to torment the world the same way it had tormented him for all those years.

    The Toyminator

    Name: Nacimiento 'Naze' Cordoba
    Gender: male
    Age: 24
    Race: human (from Spain)
Appearance: Dark and unkempt faux hawk haircut, hazel eyes, youthful features, but bushy eyebrows. Goatee to off set youthful looks and balance eyebrows. Slim and athletic build. Normaly wears a t-shirt with a brown hoody over it. Old school cargo pants are a staple. He always wears a pair of classic converse sneakers!

Personality: Animated. Can get carried away with his own ideas and imagination. Has a particular slant on how he views reality. Somewhat over-imaginative. He's completely obsessed with toy weapons, and has zero will power when it comes to toys in general. He is a child at heart that is forced to live in a grown up world. Does not usually throw tantrums (since he can be rational too ), but when he does....watch out!

Bio: Born in Spain, Naze's parents moved to the U.S. when he was very young. Both his parents worked long hours to support the new family, so Naze, who had no siblings, had to content himself with toys and imaginary friends. Naze's proficiency at 'play fighting' with toys denoted his natural athleticism, which was balanced by his artistic aptitude. His father enrolled him in martial arts class and his mom in the local art school. Though Naze excelled in both, he was put off by the hurtful nature of the average martial artist and the lethality of the weapons. Toy weapons were fun and hardly lethal. To everyone's surprise, Naze quit the martial arts, but in reality, he continued training in secret, but with his toy weapons, fueled by the fires of his imagination. As an artist, he dedicated himself to design toys and eventually became a freelance artist.

Presently, Naze lives in a major city, but the economy has really hurt his income as a freelancer. Doing sketches at birthdays and weddings, plus being a portrait-artist on weekends at the mall, hardly pay the bills. Despondent and avoiding his land-lady, Naze has taken up to becoming a superhero, which has become a form of self-administered therapy.

One day, while attempting to foil a robbery, something completely amazing happened. Toyminator warned the misguided evil-doer to surrender, as the code of heroes required, but the robber had laughed at him after calling him a costumed freak and pulled a real loaded gun at him. Toyminator realized there was still too much distance between him and the robber to engage in CQC and throwing the shield was...dicey at best. A running tackle wasn't any better. As he considered his combat options, the thief decided to make things easy for him and fired the weapon. Toyminator attempted to dodge reflexively, then there was a flash of light, but it wasn't the one that came from the gun that had surprised him.

Toyminator didn't know what to call it at the time, but he had affected Ultra Short-Range Teleportation. The bullet had actually passed through him as he teleported....one inch to the left.

Both he and the robber were amazed, but Toyminator seized the advantage and put the kibosh on the robber in a blink of an eye. Boot to the head! Ouch! sorry, but you made me do it.

Completely amazed by the experience, Toyminator went home with a new sense of purpose.

Helping others had never felt so good.

    Gender: Female
    Age: 18
    Race: Japanese
Appearance: She stands at 5'10? with a slender frame and delicate features. Her green eyes are unusual for one of her heritage and stand out in contrast to her black hair that she keeps braided and hangs to her waist. She usually wears a dark red school uniform (Dark red pleated skirt, white blouse with a sailor-style collar with a dark red ribbon) with a matching red mask.

Personality: A fiery temper dominates most of her personality, aside from that she is rambunctious and courageous, with a hint of morbid curiosity.

Bio: She was born in Naha Okinawa and moved to America with her parents at the age of six. She started to become fascinated with all manor of gadgets. She started to take apart anything she could just to see how it works. At school Yuko fell in with the goth crowd. She started to dress in dark clothing, and heavy makeup. Her parents started to worry about her, they thought she had an unhealthy attraction to all things morbid. They had even found straight razors in her room, their use they had no idea. They sent her to a Japanese style school to try to get her straightened out, it did little good. There at the school most of the kids teased her because of the way she was. She had few friends but those she did have she was fiercely protective of. She had always had a strong temper, and one day while a bully was picking on one of her friends she got so made that she burst into flames and caught the building on fire. She was evacuated with the rest of the students, but nobody could figure out why she had no clothes on. And she wasn't about to tell people that she was naked because her clothes had burnt right off of her.
She was amazed at her new power, and although it hurt like hell she could deal with pain, she had been cutting herself for years. She went about gathering what fire resistant material she could, barely enough to make a decent bikini plus her mask. She decided that she should use her powers to help those being bullied in the world, in between classes of course.

    Wow...What a sight!

    ..What a smell!

    .....What a dump!!!!

The phrase, 'You gotta be kidding' probably came to mind to a few of our 'heroes' as they got their first look inside of what was to be there supposed 'center'. It was almost like their first look at the city. Looked great from a distance, but once you got close..

Well, you know what I mean.

Luckily, these guys didnt have to stay there. But the cops didnt want these guys sneaking around their areas either, so they set up this place, so that when they were needed, a call could possible, hopefully reach them here. But looking around the place, some might wonder if anything worked. But it beat meeting up in the local coffee shop, to hash out ideas. At least the bad guys couldnt hear you talk about them, while pigging out on hash browns. But the place, thought beautiful on the outside, was a pure dump inside. Wiring all over the place. A few tv's and flatscreens placed around. Two phones, oh yes..well, that was an approvement. Last time around, they had to use payphones. Not cool at all.

The place looked like a gutted old fashioned fire station. But perhaps it could be salvaged. A few folks talked about how silly it was to have everyone in one spot ... then again, as long as that spot wasnt the local coffee shop, who cares!?

Those with a sensative nose, might notice that there was an 'odour'...yeah, it stinked. But not like you would think. Citiy offical claimed to have tried to track down the smell themselves, but never did find the source. But hey, the lights were paid, it had a fresh coat of paint on it, so there might be possibilities in the old place. There was no fanfare. This place was supposed to be a secret. Supposed to be, at least. There were two folks were left standing outside. One, an young man, with dark and unkempt faux hawk haircut, hazel eyes, youthful features, but bushy eyebrows. Goatee to off set youthful looks and balance eyebrows. Slim and athletic build. Normaly wears a t-shirt with a brown hoody over it. Old school cargo pants are a staple. He always wears a pair of classic converse sneakers. Standing next to him was a young girl, with green eyes and black hair that she keeps braided and hangs to her waist. She wore a dark red school uniform (Dark red pleated skirt, white blouse with a sailor-style collar with a dark red ribbon) with a matching red mask.

Next to them, were two young boys, who looked around 9-10 years old, who looked up at them, bouncing on their toes, as if they were eagerly awaiting something to happen.

As the authoriteis had left, they had left the pair the keys, and told them... "Its your place now. Good luck." Some folks milled around outside, paying no attention, as if it was quite normal for them to see folks playing dress up. Maybe this neighborhood was the right place to be.

What a load of - eh, nevermind. The Conductor would not be happy, when he heard of this. The news was being blasted all over the place. But the papers didnt exactally say where these new idiots in town were being located. Hopefully, someplace out of the way.

The young man holding the paper, headed off to the place he had last heard that the Conductor had been in. The man, had seen the Conductor in action, and was impressed. Maybe, if he played his cards right, he could get in on some of the action too. There was another guy in the city...he couldnt think of his name. He was a supposed bad guy too, but he didnt have the polish and pazzaz of this new person.

He wondered of the COnductor had any openeings...and if he had a good dental plan...

The authorities had gone, and wished them luck, leaving them with the keys to the place. Naze wrinkled his nose, not only at the smell, but at the old fire house in general, with its delapidated appearance and general disrepair. Then again, what was he expecting, a penthouse atop the Empire State?

Naze gave a long sigh of resignation. Once again his imagination had gotten the best of him. He really needed to work on that.

Almost absentmindedly, Naze twirled his key to the Omni center on his index finger as he looked at the two young kids who looked up at them expectantly. Oh, what he wouldn't give to be that age again....

At that thought, several things happened.

First, Naze realized that some evil scientist had probably created the 'infanto ray' of legend, which would turn brave heroes into vulnerable babes with a single ZAP!. Ugh! that couldn't be good. Second, he had to stop himself from making an 'oh no!' expression on his face. Naze slowly looked down at himself and became painfully aware that he was still in his civies!! Had he just blown his own secret identity!!? these two kids were looking right at him out of costume. Oh no, indeed.

Naze smiled sheepishly at the kids and waved at them awkwardly.

"Uhm...Hi, there..." he said, then began to turn just so, eyes avoiding his duffle bag, where he stealthily carried all his super-heroing effects. Naze felt the urgent needed to turn away and keep the general public from seeing his face. Stupid, stupid, stupid... what an idiot he was, for being out of costume at a moment like this.

"So, I guess we'll have to change the lock on the place, eh?"

Naze completed his turn and tried to open a casual conversation with the only other hero in the place. Immediately his eyes gave the other hero the once over, and her appearance was simply stunning. Naze openly stared, then became slack-jawed.

Standing next to him was a young girl, with green eyes and braided black hair down to her small waist. She wore a dark red school uniform, which consisted of a dark red pleated skirt, white blouse with a sailor-style collar with a dark red ribbon, complemented by a matching red mask.

Naze himself turned red with embarrassement as his imagination went on overdrive, since he had no trouble imagining what else she could have that would be red. As an artist that aced every anatomy and figure drawing class, seeing what was not readily shown was a simple feat for him, which granted him imaginary x-ray vision. Plus, she had really cute...erm.....knees.

"Oh! ah....*ahem*..sorry, uh..uhm...got distracted there for a minit, y'know." Naze stammered apologetically. " This is all so, unexpected...hehehe."

Naze broke eye contact, then looked down and shook his head slightly as he tried to dispell his embarrassement. He cleared his throat, focused his thoughts and tried again.

"So,....Hi! I'm....(oops! nope! can't expose the secret identity ) new around here. What should I call you?
Naze smiled and acted casual as he extended a hand, all the while berating himself internally. (stupid, stupid, stupid. Just keep smiling then. idiot.)

Luckily for him, his youthful features granted him a pretty charming smile to hide behind. He held out his hand and waited for the young lady to respond.

Yuko stood there not quite sure of what to do. She had just single handedly stopped a convenience store robbery, and was handing the felon over to the Law when the officer had handed her a letter. It was addressed to all superheros and told them to meet at this address.

When Yuko had gotten here a gruff Policeman had handed her a key and then left...How Rude! She glanced at the building and decided this had to be a joke. Next to her a young man, with dark unkempt faux hawk hair, was twirling his key.

"So, I guess we'll have to change the lock on the place, eh?"

She nodded, that would be a smart move. She looked over at him... Crap. He was staring at her, she knew that slacked jawed look from the other hundred plus men that gave it to her. Something about school girl uniforms... She didn't understand it.

"Oh! ah....*ahem*..sorry, uh..uhm...got distracted there for a minit, y'know." He stammered " This is all so, unexpected...hehehe."

I bet you got distracted, men shees!

"So,....Hi! I'm....? He seemed to hesitate here ?new around here. What should I call you??

She looked at the children, no need to give my secret away.

?I am Crispy Chicky. You may call me CC if you like.?

Yuko then walks into the station. It was pitiful, but had potential.

"Lets see the first order of business should be to clean up this mess."

She pulls out a notebook from her backpack and starts making a list.

    1.Clean the Station
    2.Build defense network
    3.Get some groceries.

Yuko stops at that one. Uses the eraser and continues...

    1.Clean the Station
    2.Get some Groceries
    3.Build defense network
    4.Do homework

    Yes that will do nicely.
Yuko starts to pick up the mess. Making two piles of rubbish, one that was completely useless and one that she could scavenge from. Might be able to use some of that to build the Defense network with.

Yuko looked back at the Young man. ?You gonna help or stare at my backside all day??

The young lady, who introduces herself as Crispy Chicky ( Naze can't even begin to think of a reason for such a name given her looks, plus it reminds him a lot of fried chicken for some odd reason) begins to pick up things around their new HQ and attacks the general mess. She begins making two piles of rubbish. Naze notices one that was completely useless and the other one could be scavenged from.

As he makes these distinctions, he hears Crispy Chicky speak to him.

?You gonna help or stare at my backside all day??

    "oh.....uhm....I was, wasn't I... uh...sorry?"

Naze stammers apologetically and turns bright red. This was not the time to be acting this way. Get a hold of yourself man!!

Clearing his throat for clarity's sake, Naze takes a deep breath and rolls his shoulders.

"Yeah, I can help. No problem."

His voice is at a slightly lower register as he speaks for effect, but quickly moves to assist Crispy Chicky. For the most part, Naze takes direction from the industrious young lady and tries his best not to stare. The quicker he got used to her costume, the better for both of them.

"Hey, CC, lemme call a locksmith and we can take a break and get something to eat while he changes the locks. What do you say?"

Naze takes out his cellphone and starts to go through his contact list.

"I wonder which other heroes are going to show up?" he asks casually as he scrolls through his list.

Things, he noted, were going to be very interesting, indeed.

"Hey, CC, lemme call a locksmith and we can take a break and get something to eat while he changes the locks. What do you say?"

At the mention of food Yuko stops. She was kinda hungry. Better to work on a full stomach, she decides.

?Ok I could go for that.? She pulls out her lunch box from her backpack. Her mother never let her leave with out lunch and she always made too much.

?I have extra if you don't mind sharing.?

Yuko opens the wooden box and sets out the contents. She had two sushi rolls and a bowl of shiraae (Boiled vegetables, mushrooms and mashed tofu with a light seasoning). She pulled out her chop sticks and offered the young man a disposable set she kept with her.

"I wonder which other heroes are going to show up?"

Yuko was a bit curious about that too.

?I don't know. The only superheros I know are in a different city now." She hesitates for a second fumbling for his name and realizing she had neglected to ask him for it. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name. Now that we're alone, my name is Yuko. If we're going to work together we should trust each other, don't you think??

Yuko takes the time to actually look at him. He was kinda cute in a childish sort of way.
Yuko offers him a piece of sushi, while totally forgetting to warn him about the wasabi.

"Hola, Miguel. Es Nacimiento...necesito un favor...'

Naze gets on the phone and starts speaking to a locksmith of his acquaintance as he sees CC pull out a wooden lunch box from her back pack. To his surprise, he immediately knows what it is.

Woah. I guess she really IS japanese.

?I have extra if you don't mind sharing.? Crispy Chicky announces.

"Oh! why thank you. I'd be honored." Naze answers back, then finishes up on the phone.

"Cuanto?" he asks with some concern as he looks inside his wallet and frowns.

"Ok, bien." With that, Naze hangs up and walks over to CC. He does catch her comment about knowing other superheroes in another city.

"Wow! you actually know other superheroes??" Naze says, sounding genuinly impressed. "I whish I were that lucky."

"I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name. Now that we're alone, my name is Yuko. If we're going to work together we should trust each other, don't you think??

Naze smiled at CC and noded, then extended his hand to shake hers. He was suddenly overcome with a surreal feeling. Here he was, meeting another REAL superhero. This was 'official'. He wasn't some costumed-freak or deluded vigilante.....well, not really anyway.

"My real name is Nacimiento, but call me 'Naze', it's easier. I'm...uh...the Toyminator, but I don't think you may have heard of me."

Naze turned a bit red as he remembered an embarrasing article about him in a local newspaper some months ago. They had a field-day ridiculing him, conveniently forgetting his good deed of the day. Tackling down a purse-snatcher was not as simple as it sounded.

"I don't have my costume on as you can tell..." Naze said as he leaned in a little. "It's in that duffle bag over there."

Naze tilted his head in the direction of the bag.

"I'll put it on a bit later, once we finish clearing up some of the junk."

Naze gave Yuko a smile and a playful wink.

"Uhm, so yeah. I have to say, I completely agree with what you said about trust. It is the basic foundation of any successful relationship, no matter how casual. Don't you agree?"

Naze's eyes widen as does his smile once he sees Yuko offer him a piece of sushi from her lunch box.

"Arigato." He says in a slightly accented japanese as he takes the offered morsel and without hesitation, takes a bite.

"Mmm, it's good...." he comments with a mouthful as he chews, then suddenly stops. His eyes grow wide as saucers and a look of panic comes over him. He looks at Yuko for a second, then frantically begins to search around him. Finally, he opens his mouth and begins to fan it.

    "Yaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh........."

Naze looks around, then finally spots a water cooler. he runs to it nearly at top speed and halts before it. His curse is unintelligible due to his burning mouth. Too late did he notice that there was no water bottle on the cooler. Naze's head snaps around. he spots a soda machine and runs over. same story. Empty.

    "Yaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh......mah mauph....id....booooornnnns..."

Finally, he sees a sink. And without hestitation, he goes to it and turns it on. The faucett emits a gurggling sound, then begins to sputter, then finally releases a turrent of semi-clear water, but Naze is not caring much about that as he cups his hands and drinks a mouthful in his quest for immediate relief.

A few moments later, Naze returns. The top half of his shirt is wet.

"You could have warned me..."he says a bit dejected. With a look of disgust he regards his wet hands and finally decides to dry then on his own shirt. Half turning to look back at the faucett, he shakes his head.

"That.... was gross! I dont think I want to know what was in that water."

Hmm. Wears red. likes wassabi. Crispy Chicky. I think I'm getting the picture.

Naze manages a weak smile at Yuko and silently wishes that Miguel the Locksmith would hurry up and get there soon.

She had in fact heard of him, in a very unflattering article in the local newspaper, but she didn't hold it against him. She despised the media and regarded most of their reporting as overblown detarame (nonsense).

"I don't have my costume on as you can tell..." He leaned in a little . "It's in that duffle bag over there."

He nodded at the duffel bag.

Yuko suddenly wondered if she had unintentionally led him on. It wasn't that he wasn't cute, or even that he wasn't her type, but her last boyfriend had ended up in the hospital with third degree burns and that was something she wanted to avoid.

"Uhm, so yeah. I have to say, I completely agree with what you said about trust. It is the basic foundation of any successful relationship, no matter how casual. Don't you agree?"

Yuko nodded at this. He accepted one of the sushi rolls ?Arigato? and takes a bite. Yuko pops a slice into her mouth and chews savoring the flavor of the fish and the texture of the rice and the heat of the wasabi... her eyes widen as she realizes what she has just done.

"Mmm, it's good...." His eyes widen in panic. "Yaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh........."

He frantically tries to fan his mouth and then runs to the cooler, no help there the bottle was missing. He runs to a soda machine, empty. Finally to a sink, and there he finds his relief. He returns, his shirt soaked with water.

Yuko looks at him apologetically. ?Aramaa, I am so sorry. I forgot how spicy it was.? She reaches for the shiraae. ?Here this is very mild, and the tofu will help take the heat from your mouth.?

Yuko finished her sushi roll (only half of one, she really needed to convince her mother not to make so much) and she returned to picking up the station. She found a mop and bucket in an old closet and with some old cleaning supplies. This place could be nice if some one would put some work into it.

A soft giggle quickly reached our pair of superheroes hearing, as as they looked about, they saw the same too small boys that had been starting at them earlier, trying to hold back a giggle.

As CC and T notice the pair, the larger one, with sandy yellow hair steps forward.

"Uh...we're not sneaking on you...really." He suddenly broke into a wide smile, as he stood straight. "We want to join you!..." He quickly looked towards his friend, who's head looked like it was about to swivel off, he was nodding it so quickly. "Yeah! We can be helpful..." he added, as the pair looked back to the them, waiting for a response, as they poked each other in the ribs.

Naze smiled and nodded as he accepted Yuko's apology and the morsel she offered as a peace offering.

?Here this is very mild, and the tofu will help take the heat from your mouth.? she explained.

    "Thank you."

With a bit of a comical gesture, Naze took a bite of the shiraae and began to chew once again. As promised, the burning sensation began to wane.

Giggling off to one side caught Naze's attention just then, and he turned in the direction of the sound. What he saw made him smile and raise and eyebrow in curiosity and surprise.

The same two small boys that had been starting at them earlier were trying to hold back a giggle, but failing miserably. The larger one, with sandy yellow hair stepped forward and spoke up first.

"Uh...we're not sneaking on you...really." He said, suddenly breaking into a wide smile, as he stood straight. "We want to join you!..." He quickly looked towards his friend, who's head looked like it was about to swivel off, he was nodding it so quickly. "Yeah! Naze's own smile widened as a result of the kids' contageous merriment. He glanced over at Yuko and tried to gauge her expression, before turning back to the youngsters.

"You can help us?" Naze said, and caught himself sounding a bit theatrical, but in a good way.

"And how do you propose to do that? The place is filthy and I don't think putting you to work would be much fun."

Naze gave a little chuckle as he imagined the kids parents picketing an unfinished HQ for the simple fact that they allowed the kids to help with the clean up and construed the whole thing as child-labour.

"So, tell me, what are your names, hmm?"

Naze smiled at the kids, but did not neglect to take a casual look around, just to make sure their surroundings were safe from villain activity. Everyone knew that evil-doers would take such moments as an opportunity to do their dastardly deeds. And every hero knew that he or she had to always be on the alert, no matter how pleasant a conversation they were having.

Satisfied, Naze gave the kids the attention they needed.

And my friend..." at that, the dark haired boy stood up, and walked over next to his frind. "..name is Dirk." The dark haired boy simply nodded. Carter continued to speak, as if he knew he had to make a quick sell.

"Well, you see, for one, we know every bit of this old place. We used to play here alot when we were kids. We know alot of stuff..."

The dark haired boy who had been silent, tilted his head slightly. "We're superheros too... well, superheroes in training." He grinned. "We can help you clean up. And I cook a mean set of pancakes." he added with a grin. "Superhero's gotta eat too!"

Carter nodded. Yeah. Besides, ya gonna need somebody to do stuff, when you guys is.. um..Outta costume. Ya know?" he added, while they looked at Naze and Yuko, waiting for a response.

These two kids were natural charmers.

"So, tell me, what are your names, hmm?" Naze added with a smile.

The sandy haired boy stood straight, as he ran his fingers through his hair, looking at Naze and Yuko. "Um.. name's Carter. And my friend..." at that, the dark haired boy stood up, and walked over next to his friend. "..name is Dirk."

Naze thought of the weapon by that same name, but immediately banished such thoughts from his mind as the dark haired boy simply nodded. Carter continued to speak, as if he knew he had to make a quick sell.

"Well, you see, for one, we know every bit of this old place. We used to play here alot when we were kids. We know a lot of stuff..."

That could be useful, he conceded mentally.

The dark haired boy who had been silent, tilted his head slightly. "We're superheros too... well, superheroes in training." He grinned. "We can help you clean up. And I cook a mean set of pancakes." he added with a grin. "Superhero's gotta eat too!"

Naze couldn't help but to laugh at this. Their charm was quite potent, he had to admit.

Carter nodded. "Yeah. Besides, ya gonna need somebody to do stuff, when you guys is.. um..Outta costume. Ya know?" he added, while they looked at Naze and Yuko.

"Well, it all sounds so incredible...." Naze said with a broad smile. He turned once again to see if he could catch any reaction from Yuko.

Naze wanted to ask a few more in-depth questions, but before any of that could happen, he needed to know one thing first.

"What about your parents? what do 'they' think about all this?"

Naze kept smiling, but he watched the two boys very carefully now for their answers. Though superheroing looked like fun to those who didn't know the inner workings, the superhero charter clearly stated that every superhero was accountable for his or her actions to the full extent of the law. Naze did not take those words lightly. No siree!

As he waited for the two boys to answer, his peripheral vision revealed that Miguel's truck was pulling up to the parking garage. Good, at least the locks would be taken care of today, if nothing else.

The Corrupt Conductor sat at his lone piano in his solitary lair, playing for the rows upon rows of cardboard people that filled the seats of this abandoned theater. He played soulfully, skillfully, and hypnotically. It didn't matter what the song was, anyone who could hear it would instantly fall into his sway. They would dance and sing and do whatever the song called for. That was why he must prepare for his big debut. This town was ripe for the picking, hardly a decent group of heroes to be found. He would use this opening in order to gain the funds he would need to increase his range.

As he finished his playing, he stood and took a deep bow to the fake audience. "Thank you, thank you." He started. "I look forward to the day when all of you are truly applauding for him, and paying me not only in cash, but in priceless museum pieces, jewels, and gold as well."

Alas, nothing was returned but that unbearable silence. And it was in this unbearable silence that he glanced over at his microphone stand. With that and his speaker suit he would project his voice to all the whole city. And then it would be the world.

A noise penetrated the dead air and the Conductor turned to see a live individual at the top of the theater's seating, the man was holding a newspaper and looked like he'd found the place he'd been looking for.

"Young man, I'm afraid you'll have to wait for opening night to get an autograph, the stage is not quite set yet." He stated, quite seriously with a wide grin that revealed the gap in his front teeth.

Ah, the joys of starting up your own place. Naze and Yuko were finding out about this first hand. Place definitely had a type of charm. Best not to say what kind in polite company.

But so far, they had two hopefuls, that wanted to help them out. So far, its the best offer they've had all day. And one even claimed that he could cook. Dirk stood nearby as Carter nodded. "Yeah. Besides, ya gonna need somebody to do stuff, when you guys is.. um.. Outta costume.

"What about your parents? what do 'they' think about all this?" Naze smiled at the pair.

Carter looked at his friend, his smile fading slightly, as Dirk's expression grew dark. Carter spoke up quicky then. "Well... My parents dont really care what I do. They aint never home. Long as I stay outta trouble, they dont care. And well..Dirk.."

Dirk looked up, his face devoid of any emotions as he responded.

"I dont have any parents. I hang out. I take care of myself. That good enough?"

Carter looked a bit embarrassed, but he simply nodded. "Yeah. We both take care of ourselves..and each other. That work for you?" he asked, as he saw a truck pulling up to the garage.

"So..." Carter though quickly, "What's this place gonna use for a cover? Or are ya gonna go all natural?" he asked with a grin.

    Yep, things were looking up!

Just look out for the cobwebs.

    Abandoned Theater, Omni City

Nice thing about a big city like Omni City. Lots of places to call your own. Take this place. In a small place, might not be many abandonded theaters running about. But plenty here. Course a few recently had seen a mysterious fire or two. And then there was that big bruhaha.. some kind of battle. Funny thing is, most cant really remember the details.

That was probably a good thing.

Meanwhile, The Corrupt Conductor sat at his lone piano in his solitary lair, playing for the rows upon rows of cardboard people that filled the seats of this abandoned theater. He played soulfully, skillfully, and hypnotically. Well, as hypnotically one could play, with a audience of cardboard folks looking on.

As he finished his playing, he stood and took a deep bow to the fake audience. "Thank you, thank you." He started. "I look forward to the day when all of you are truly applauding for him, and paying me not only in cash, but in priceless museum pieces, jewels, and gold as well."

So much for any ideas about a good dental plan.

The young man slowly stood up, adjusting his earplugs. Like I said, he had seen the Conductor in action before. And he was impressed. Almost permanently pressed as well, but that was a different story.

The man slowly walked towards the isle, and holding up the paper. "Hello..um. Mr. Conductor. I saw your work over on the East side. It was ... wonderful." he said, talking slowly as he gave a grin, and slowly making his way down the isle. "But Im not here for an autograph. I thought - well, I thought you might want to see today's headlines in the paper."

The man swallowed hard, and quickly made his way closer, and help up the paper so that the Conductor could read the headlines.

Carter looked a bit embarrassed, but he simply nodded. "Yeah. We both take care of ourselves..and each other. That work for you?" he asked, as he saw a truck pulling up to the garage.

Her heart truly went out to Dirk, her parents were annoying but she would trade them for anything.

She had seen Naze's questioning glance. She nodded slightly in the affirmative.

"So..." Carter added quickly, "What's this place gonna use for a cover? Or are ya gonna go all natural?" he asked with a grin.

She noticed the truck now. Thinking fast she pocketed her mask and twisted the ribbon in her collar around to show the black reverse side. She whipped off her skirt, she had on tight bicycle shorts underneath for this very reason, and reversed it to the black pleated side.

She now looked like any other Japanese school girl.

As for a cover... She didn't have a clue. That was something she needed to talk to Naze about. She went out to meet the truck. For now if they asked she would tell them that she was watching the building for the owners.

She bowed ?Konichiwa... Is there something I can help you with??

Carter noticed a truck pulling up to the garage.

"So..." Carter though quickly, "What's this place gonna use for a cover? Or are ya gonna go all natural?" he asked with a grin.

It seemed however, that Yuko had come up with her own idea on the matter. She acted quickly. Thinking fast she pocketed her mask and twisted the ribbon in her collar around to show the black reverse side. She whipped off her skirt. She had on tight bicycle shorts underneath for this very reason, and reversed it to the black pleated side.

She now looked like any other Japanese school girl.

As she headed out the building she missed the looks of both of the young boys ... and most likely Naze as well, in the building.

Carter's eyes looked like they were about to pop out, as his face was beginning to look like an overripe tomato. He gurgled something unintelligible, while Dirk had a grin plastered on his face, from ear to ear, looking as if it was threatening to wrap around his entire head. Looking over at Naze, he found his voice...

"Uh.. I guess she decided on the all natural after all..."

Carter nearly burst out laughing at the comment. As his eyes watered up, Dirk's let out a cough. "Oh you GOT to let us work for you now!!" was all he could say, before the two boys broke down into laughter.

Perhaps now would be a good time for Naze to tell Yuko that he had called the truck ... if he could remember, that is.

Naze regarded Dirk and Carter as the two boys told their stories. Although he kept a pleasant expression on his face, he could not believe what he was hearing. Two wonderful kids, one was likely homeless, or was a runaway and the other claimed he was neglected. It wasn't that Naze did not believe them, it was just that he'd forgotten how deeply troubled the world was, and how kids always got the worst of it, yer managed to smile through their trials.

Naze made a mental note to immediately see if he could find a space in the building that he could turn into a room for the boys. Obviously they preferred to keep busy than get into trouble, and Naze would do his best to help them in that regard. He'd check on their backgrounds later, after he'd provided suitable shelter. At least that was the plan.

"Yeah. We both take care of ourselves..and each other. That work for you?" Carter asked.

"Sounds like we have a deal!" Naze said with a little laugh and gave them the thumbs-up sign.

"So..." Carter as he watched Miguel's truck pull up."What's this place gonna use for a cover? Or are ya gonna go all natural?" he asked with a grin.

Before anyone could answer, Yuko did something none of them expected.

In a proverbial blink of an eye, after some very quick and audacious garment switches, she'd gone from Crispy Chicky to regular japanese school girl. Her maneuver had been so swift and clever that it left Naze, Carter and Dirk seemingly stunned by the sheer awe of it all.

Without losing stride, Yuko went out to meet the arriving truck.

Naze exchanged looks with Carter and Dirk and shared a good laugh with them. It felt good to bond with the two youngsters and Naze was already getting a good feeling about them.

"Oh you GOT to let us work for you now!!" Carter chimed in.

"Done deal!" Naze asserted. "I think I'd better go take a look at what's going on..." He added as he started to follow after Yuko.

"You two can come along if you want."

Outside, Miguel diligently parked his trucked and got out with his tool box in hand, as he closed the door he turned around to see a pretty japanese girl bowing before him.

?Konichiwa... Is there something I can help you with?? Yuko said in greeting.

"Oh, me... sorry. English, no good. Un poquito." Miguel stammered at being caught almost by surprise. He tried to be polite and not stare, but it was kin of difficult not to.

"Emm...Nacimiento, yu kno heem?" He asked, sounding linguistically lost.

At that moment, Naze came up behind Yuko just in time to save Miguel from further embarrassing himself.

"That's the locksmith I called earlier." He quickly explained to Yuko as he stepped next to her, then addressed him.

"Gracias, Miguel por ser tan puntual. Ven de este lado, por favor."

"I'll take him to look at the doors. He's a friend." Naze reassured Yuko with a smile and a wink. Then he motioned for Miguel to follow.

"Disculpe, señorita. Excus me." Miguel said to Yuko with a polite smile and a nod.

"We can all go together if you want." Naze suggested to Yuko as he began to lead the way back to the old fire station.

There was just so much to do, and it kind of felt good...starting from scratch. Naze allowed himself to envision a GRAND OPENING, once the repairs and the building make-over was completed. What a grand occasion it would be...

*Ahem*. Naze coughed and brought himself back to reality as the first of many doors stood before them. Hopefully the changes wouldn't take too long.

Either way, It was time to go to work.

Outside, Yoko was speaking with Miguel, the poor man driving the truck. And he was rather surprised by being met by her, so he was not quite sure what to think.

The two boys had followed Naze to the doorway, and now stood back, watching with interest, as they grinned from ear to ear. As far as they were concerned, they had the best seats in the house, to watch things unfold.
Naze came up behind Yuko just in time to save Miguel from further embarrassing himself.

The boys whispered among themselves as Naze brought the buy who was to fix the locks in the building. "Um.. well, while that guy is working, we can at least get to the kitchen. You probably wouldnt want to go in there... right now." Carter said with a grin.

"And besides, Drik can show you some of the COOL stuff of this place. But you guys better get moving soon. The stuff they put in the papers, probably gonna get folks, uh..curious, if you know what I mean."

With that, Carter ran off, leaving Dirk standing there with a grin.

At that moment, there was what sounded like a really muffled ringing sound going off somewhere within the main part of the building. A phone perhaps? Finding it should prove fun, as a general glace did not reveal it whereabouts.

Now, who would have the number to THIS place?

    Name: Samuel Springs
    Gender: Male
    Age: 17
    Race: Caucasain
Appearance: Tall, slim build, shaggy blond hair. Is usually dressed in prep school attire: khakis, white shirt, red tie, crested-navy blazer, and a pair of well worn trainers. Hero outfit is a Wolf Sport Leather Jacket with a green stripe down the left arm, a Gath full retractable visored helmet(modified to retract via remote in glove), a pair of jeans, utility belt(for additional lasers and laser related paraphernalia), and the same trainers.

Personality: Steve suffers from Social Anxiety Disorder, which makes him nearly incapable of eye contact or other social interactions, because of this, he has nurtured a growing distrust and dislike of his peers, although he is very passive aggressive, and so is usually seen muttering to himself. Being somewhat of a polymath, he can often come across as a know it all, and he is a very quick thinker and highly analytical, making him a formidable tactician, although his anxiety makes him unable to express his knowledge and opinions to anyone they might help. His anxiety is slightly relieved by the medication he carries, and when he is hiding behind his costume, although the number of pills he is able to take is limited, and only last for a short time.

Bio: Sam spent most of his time growing up alone, but otherwise had a completely normal childhood. Because he excelled in the sciences in high school, he got a job as a lab assistant at a laser research facility. During an experiment, Samuel was locked inside of a room being bombarded by green laser energies, which are completely harmless, and some of the equipment exploded spontaneously, singeing part of his lab coat(nothing else was apparently destroyed in the slightest). However, after some time, Samuel began to see green dots, which he took to mean that something was wrong with his vision. In a rare case of eye contact, Samuel nearly blinded(she reported seeing spots) the librarian, and discovered that they weren't dots at all, but that his eyes were projected the same green lasers from the accident. He is now forced to wear sunglasses at all times, although he really doesn't need to, as the risk of looking him in the eye is very low. Some time later, his powers further developed, and he discovered that he could willingly dilate his pupils, but only outside during the day, which caused headaches, but also widened the beam of his laser vision. Later still, he discovered that he could temporarily teleport his eyes to a different location, providing him with the ability to create some pretty swell laser shows for the local planetarium. Wanting to use his powers for good, he was unable to join a team, as his mother insisted it would interfere with his studies. Growing bitter about having to hide his gifts, he decided to use them however he saw fit, and totally wrote a blog about how unfair his parents were. Sam, unable to officially register for the team, shows up whenever he can sneak away from his overbearing mother, and, depending on his mood(which swings wildly), may either help or hinder them.

    If you are a SuperHero:

    Secret Identity: Stare Master
Weapons/Specialty tools: Green lensed sunglasses which slightly block laser vision, smart phone, anxiety pills.

Weaknesses: Large(or small) groups of people, asthma, easily distracted by scientific exhibits or conversation(especially when someone is wrong about something).

    Samuel Springs was busy.

He had gotten up early, and quickly left his home, to get away from his parents. That way, he did not have to hear their insistent nagging that he needed to apply himself to something. He DID want to apply himself to something, but of course if it was not something THEY approved up, it was shot down in flames.

He had been walking about, thinking about how unfair everything was. Nobody paid him any attention. A few folks who knew him, simply nodded, but kept going. Which was fine with him.

He had decided to grab something to eat when he had seen it. A paper, announcing the formation of the new superhero group in town. They didnt give an address, but noted that the group was still in the process of setting up.

He wondered if he could find them. THAT would tick his mother off proper. Server her right. He nearly got ran over by some guy, who was busy running down the street, but the guy had kept on going, like he was in some major hurry. Lucky him.

Maybe the morning would not be so bad after all.

"Wait....what stuff 'who' put in the papers?"

The question seemed to fall on deaf ears as Carter ran off.

The phone continued to ring incessantly, and Naze tried to ignore it for a moment, but that wasn't working very well. Someone was obviously trying to reach them, and was not about to give up until the phone was answered. Naze gave a long sigh of exasperation as he glared in the direction of the noise.

"Ok, ok, ok..." he said licking his lips as he began to speak quickly, looking from Dirk, to dircetion of the ringing.

"You guys do your cooking-thing, Miguel can continue replacing the locks, and I'll see if I can find that darn phone. Nothing worse than a caller who won't hang up."

With that Naze took a few steps forward then halted suddenly and looked back.

"Don't tell... I suppose YOU KNOW, where the phone is...?" He said with an incredulous smile on his face.

"If you do, could you show me where it is?" he asked as nicely as he knew how.

Naze also took the opportunity to quickly look over to Yuko, to see if she what she was up to.

"Wait....what stuff 'who' put in the papers?"

The question seemed to fall on deaf ears as Carter ran off. Dirk had moved, but he was still in the area, watching things with a amused look on his face.

The phone continued to ring incessantly, and Naze tried to ignore it for a moment, but that wasn't working very well. Naze gave a long sigh of exasperation as he glared in the direction of the noise. "Ok, ok, ok..." he said licking his lips as he began to speak quickly, looking from Dirk, to the direction of the ringing.

"You guys do your cooking-thing, Miguel can continue replacing the locks, and I'll see if I can find that darn phone. Nothing worse than a caller who won't hang up."

Dirk gave a grin, and began to head for the kitchen.

With that Naze took a few steps forward then halted suddenly and looked back.

"Don't tell... I suppose YOU KNOW, where the phone is...?" He said with an incredulous smile on his face. "If you do, could you show me where it is?" he asked as nicely as he knew how.

Dirk skidded to a stop, and turned back around, looking over at the all the junk that covered the main area. He looked for a moment, as if he was counting something. He then flicked something over on what looked like a pile of blankets. It looked like a ... croissant?

"Try there." he said with a grin, as he took off running once more to catch up with his friend.

Naze made it over towards the stack, and as he got closer, it indeed sounded as if the ringing was coming from the underneath the bundle. He then heard a very loud 'CLICK' sound, and then an unknown voice ... "Im sorry, no one is available to take your call. Please leave a message...."

He could also hear another voice, male, going.."Hello....Hello?" on the other end of the answering machine...

"Well, well, now what do we have here?" a voice rang out in the darkness, as it say in a posh living area, reclined on a couch, while drinking a warm tea. Superheros, hmmm?" The voice laughed. "Guess they got tired of chasing their own tails. Rather have some halfwit fools do it for them."

    "Hmmmm."

"Now THIS... this is more interesting..." the voice continues as it reads the papers, moving from the front page section to the "events" sections of the paper.

    "Very Interesting, indeed."

The voice sounds quite pleased, as it continues to read the papers, undisturbed.
