I have been called to go be a modjerator , but I'll pop back in when I can.

Guy--what kind of history are you interested in?

More post-1450 stuff, at least with the West. I'm interested in the Islamic world, and certain aspects of Asian history, but most things in that part of the world (particularly in China and India-- excepting the Islamic expansion into India) seem to move very, very slowly until about the 18th and 19th centuries. :p

My "best" period is actually Early Modern Europe, especially England. I confess that I do have a certain fondness for the old Norse civilizations though (they were actually only "vikings" when they were raiding). My last name is Scandinavian, and a large chunk of my ancestors came from Denmark and Norway. My mother used to have use this crazy "suck it up" expression that she got from her mother: "The north wind made the vikings." (The proper response is, of course, "I'm not a viking, and I don't caaaaaaaaaare!!!") My grandmother's father was a Norwegian shipwright, of all things. So maybe I do have deranged viking ancestors back there somewhere. :p

Also, I think pretending to be a barbarian is kinda cool. :p

This has to be the most exclusive social thread ever. :p

EDIT: Also, everytime I look at ophelia's icon I think I see Obi-Wan blinking. Then I look for a short while longer, and realise he was not blinking. Then I wonder whether there's a slight smirk forming on his lips. Probably not...

I'm trying to form my own clique so I can be cool, E. And the same thing happens to me when I look at her icon, too!

It's ok Everton, we'll just resurrect the Flirt thread, when we get back to the JCC. :)

Hehehehe, that ought to buy us another week in the BB House. :p

I believe the point of the game was to play "Mean Girls," only with like half the girls being guys. So yeah. It was supposed to be exclusive. It was my soft, squishy side that had the monks and peasants hiding in one thread for a supposed reason, instead of just having it be, "We hate you." :p Maybe the other would have been more entertaining. I dunno.
In the Clone Wars cartoon, he's looking glum because he's being rained on, and can't get any sleep.

I love that expression because it seems like a perfect balance between, "Well, this is the will of the Force," and "*******! I'm surrounded by *******!!!"

Some days, I feel like that a lot. :p

By the way, Alan leaped out of the Vjiking camp after at least trying to precipitate peace. Anyway, he leaped home, and lived for another 48 years.

This is good (and surprising, given the times) to hear! :)

Brjiann also managed to survive and live a long, fruitful life (died at the ripe old age of 39) after personally slaughtering an army of 150 ninja pirates in his final greatest battle--a tale lost in the annals of history due to Brjiann accidentally killing the historical minstrel in a fit of rage.

All the greatest exponents of their art exhibit a certain craaaaaaaaaaaazeeeeeeenessss. It makes them who they are; it is the cream on the cake of their genius. Had it not been his wont and his way to kill the minstrel, had he not been that maniacal, then perhaps the ninja pirates would've bested him.

Alan was from the year 1998. Longevity is commonplace.

    You speak rightly, Sir Everton!

On a side note, the last words written by the minstrel, ostensibly while bleeding to death and as gray matter issued from his fractured skull are recorded for posterity (recently found in a dig):

Edit: Only 'cause we have all that cool stuff like hygiene and pasteurization. :p

I have reason to doubt that document. It is common knowledge that yellow didn't exist until 1945.

And I think the bloodstains on it would have long turned from red to black, or at least faded into a dark tanish color.
Or at least that's what I've seen in movies.

Look, man! I found it in 5 mins! Besides, it was perfectly preserved in amber. Any other complaints?
