ST The Orphan

I think that's a powerful arc, personally.

Example: the Sith apprentice is an orphan of some kind. Maybe they don't know their parents, or maybe they feel disconnected from their parents for some reason. Or maybe what makes them an orphan is that they were an apprentice of Palpatine, who died (we've heard rumors of a Sith apprentice).

What if this orphan thought themselves evil through and through, but after developing a relationship with the Sky-Solos, begins to have new feelings? They still stick to their plan though, which is to destroy the Sky-Solos/Jedi. So they kill someone new or old who is well-respected, and the guilt is overwhelming. This murder or attack may be what opens them to the lightside for the first time. But now there's a new problem: the Jedi are hunting them, and their Sith master (spirit or not) senses the change in their heart. Both sides descend on our orphan. What now?

 

Declare pizza obviously. IX will be one big happy pizza party.

I still wonder if there will be a cult of Vader type of villain tho, maybe the orphan is the leader.

 

Do they have pizza in the GFFA? If so, I wonder if it's better than the thin crust Chicago stuff I had last week. Which seems impossible.

Lord TW: the pulp side of me would love some sort of Vader cult, or Lady Vader. The pragmatic side of me says too many fans would find it problematic. They want their fantasy as realistic as possible (sadly).

 

Are you implying that the orphan will turn into a giant pile of pizza goo and proceed to eat him/herself to death? How tragic.

Of course not. We've shared in fine discourse before (particularly in the Netherworld thread). Even if I don't always agree with everything (I believe your thoughts for Luke in the ST was something I mentioned not digging), there's always time and thoughtful consideration put in to your posts, and it shows.

Besides, you reinforced my thoughts on Thomas' name, and made me aware of the Old Testament - Rachael connection. That alone gives you points in my book.

And yes, the Finger Lakes region is beautiful (and with changing of the seasons, it's beautiful year 'round). Oh, and yes, with fine wine to boot.

 

You also like the exploration of the Skywalker name.

Yeah! The story starts with a cyborg kid, who's all evil and spends his time skipping school and killing Jedi. Then when he grows up, he gets seduced by the light side of the Force, and he starts doing good stuff like helping old ladies cross the street, and medical science meanwhile helps him live without his cybernetics. But then it turns out he has a son who's evil, and they fight. In the end, before he dies, his son helps him turn back towards the dark side of the Force and embrace his former part-machine self again--and then kills him. How's that?

what if they flip the script for the ST and follow the POV of the bad character (maybe the orphan) and have the heroes (i.e. Luke) play the antagonist.

 

I've been semi-hoping for that too
