The Padmé Amidala Fan Club

When I was a youngling and I saw ANH for the first time, Princess Leia instantly became my icon and hero. She still is. For years I wondered who was that "very beautiful, kind, but sad" woman who had been her mother. We finally got to meet her in TPM...a girl of 14 who was wise, intelligent, and mature, but also gentle and compassionate. I've been a fan of Padmé Amidala's ever since. I can see young girls looking up to her the way I looked up to Leia.

To be honest I started this thread because some of the nastiness directed at Padmé and at Natalie Portman on the JC made my insides want to spill out. I'm tired of people saying Padmé is arrogant, a pain, snobby, or an idiot for falling in love with Anakin. I'm irritated with the Nat bashers; she's a fine actress, a lovely young lady, and putting her career on hold to complete her education earns my respect.

So this is the place for those who love Mrs. Skywalker. This is not a thread for bashing Padmé or Natalie. Got that?
