It had been a fantastic fight was the general consensus around the room. He had not intended for it to have happened the way it had and had made it known.

?Inevitability be damned!? they had heard him say. ?I?m in control. It?ll happen my way or not at all.?

They had heard it so many times that even they had believed. Grief did not register amidst the pranks and the jokes but in the absence of them. A sense of surrealism had permeated the select few who had been told, those who hadn?t saw no change and had no reason to suspect so they did not see.
Now they all ask themselves how could they have not known, how blind were they not to see.

A wrenching was pain present in all those who had known and more so in those who hadn?t.

So now here they all stood around the burning pyre and mourned the passing of Wes Janson, mourned the legend of Kettch.

The biggest hole the New Republic had seen and would ever know.
