A suggestion by Sistine was put on the table to rent a few hotel rooms (or something) ina central location between CA & AZ for a weekend.
We would play many Role-Playing games (maybe console games too).

    In short, our own mini-con.

I think that wast the general idea of what was suggested.

    so..

    Time of year / days?
    Location sugestions?
    RPG system ideas?
and maybe once planned, an "official" title to this event?

i only brought up yuma because sistine said that would make a good place. any other suggestions would be fine, if they're midway between CA and AZ so that the CA gamers can join us.

    Drove through Yuma yesterday

Quite a few hotels and Motels there...I say we go for the cheapest thing we can find...

Who cares if we stay in a dive...We are there to GAME!!!

I am pretty sure I can get Kat and Ben to come from San D as well!

Sounds good to me, Sistine. Though I should also suggest that Lake Havasu could also work, since they have a crapload of motels as well. For obvious reasons. Hmm. Speaking of which, what if we did this in March, say around Spring Break for the colleges? That way everybody that's in school can play too!

Why, we could even rent a boat or something and game on the water in this quiet place called Copper Canyon... [face_devil];)

Just so long as the rooms are big enough to stretch out in while gaming for everyone that's playing.

I wouldn't suggest going to Havasu durring spring break. It tends to get crowded, from what I hear.

March may be a bit too soon, we're gonna need a little time to build up some disposable income, and I suspect that holds for several others as well.

You really want to have your birthday party in Yuma?

Do we have any Fan Force members in Yuma?

Not necessarily in Yuma, but a tradition seems to be developing where my birthday is spent at some weekend-long PFF event. Remember the camping trip in Flagstaff last year...

several Hotels off the freeway, several hotel/motel in town

bring swim suits and i can prolly show off some nice swim spots if the river is up...
not much else other than the dunes ,the Territorial prison to go look at, And Yuma Proving Grounds

For hotels: these two are the two better ones in town

i... don't understand what you mean, sithlord. what else could there be but gaming?

    teehee.

if we want alternatives to gaming, i would have to again suggest lake havasu. there's the bar/club/whattheheckever with the pool on one side of the london bridge, and a british pub that serves rich, thick and dark microbrews on the other. and of course there's just going on the water. i've been there. i know a few things. like how friggin' dull spring breakers can be when they don't have a camera on them.

if we want to try for a camping/gaming weekend, that could take some work since there's some Cali gamers that may be interested but not wanting to drive all the way.

    COMFORT INN YUMA

    2 Queen Beds/ $92.65(USD)

Hmmm looking for a Motel 6

However it would be nice to get a hotel that has a conference room we can use! Now that would be awesome!

just remember that the room costs would be broken up among everyone in each room.

btw, just as an alternative, i did a little research into the hotels in lake havasu. late april is usually the winding down period of the whole 'spring break' phenomenon, so there would be a lot less, if any, annoying meatbags around. some of the rates are around $82 a night.

this is just a thought, if rates are a determining issue.

    I just checked on hotels.com.
From April 23-25th in Yuma, there are quite a bit for $65-$90 something a night.

A little more research into adjoining rooms and possibly how much the "cheaper" ones are and it will cost hardly anything per person.

What are the potential games we'd like to play/run?

I've been dying to run a special Gaming-con game for a long time now called: Clay-O-Rama
    Its a ton of fun.

Maybe If I have time, I'll put together a Werewolf or HOL adventure.
