didn't say that he didn't, but saying he didn't struggle is a bit of a misnomer.

I will be at Bethpage Black, and this will mark my first PGA tour event that I've ever watched in person.

So, Tiger again comes from 4 back, to again win the Memorial. I think he might have some talent.

If he hits fairways a Bethpage like he did this weekend (He only missed 7 all weekend), he's going to blow the field away.

what was your first clue he had some talent helmet? his first win on tour?:p

i'll say it'll be about three under personally. course is too nasty. specially if there's rain.

Last winner at Bethpage was -3 (Tiger, '02; only player under par), which is better than the last few years... last four US Open champions: combined +9.

Incredible US Open stat, which I'm probably not the only person to remember: 2000, at Pebble Beach, Tiger Woods sets the US Open best score record at -12... the second place finisher was a tie between Els and Jimenez... at 3 over par. (that's still the record for largest margin of victory in a major, I believe)

Is Bethpage Black going to be groomed to be as tough as last time?

'97 Masters, Tiger was -18 and second was -6, 12 stroke difference. Pretty darn big, but not quite as big as that US Open.

And yeah, they've been prepping the course for a couple months now I think. Letting the rough grow really long, etc. At least that's what I've heard.

actually i read today, "The Black Course has been lengthened to 7,426 yards since 2002. It features graduated rough that should allow players to reach the green instead of hacking out to the fairway."

I'm quite excited it's at "The Black" again this year -- a course I actually played a number of times in the 80s and early 90s. Brutally tough, though admittedly I have nothing in that class to compare it to.

No, the PGA is in August. It's the U.S., then British, then PGA.

    Wrong sport :p

It is kinda confusing having one name being common to both sports like that, though.

Right, but I'm talking about when its out of context, and all you hear is "US Open". On the other hand, "The Masters" and "Wimbledon" clearly indicate which sport ;)

but it's in the title? i mean, if you're looking at one part you should be able to look at the rest without a huge problem?

i do kinda see your point, and his, but still...
