10 - I thought the extra stuff with Anakin at the beginning was worth it.

I gave it a 7/10, it was good, but the episode 2 and 3 books are so much better. Especially the episode 2 novel;) .

    9/10

Excellent, well written book. It does justice to the movie while adding valuable backstory to the plot without sacraficing continuity at all. IMHO, this book is easily the best novelization of any the movies.

Yes, that was one of my favourite parts. Brooks got inside his head very well.

And as someone mentioned before, the extra stuff on Anakin in the beginning was great.

I haven't actually read the book, I probably will in the future (especially with the reviews it got here!) but I did flick through it, and I found the part stating that Qui Gon's master was something like over 400 years old kind of annoying, since Dooku, who was Qui Gon's master, was only 83 in ROTS, according to Wookieepedia. Guess I can't really blame the author, not that I'd want to. Maybe it was a different master, like whoever taught him how to wield a blade.
