So Lucas reported at ShoWest that he will release all of the films...including TPM in 3-D in 2007!!!!

3-D!!!! CAN YOU FREAKIN' BELIEVE IT!!

    Lucas is a marketing genius.

So.....that being said...what are you most interested to see in 3-D in The Phantom Menace?

    Here are some of mine-

    - The Pod Race should be cool
    - The duel with Darth Maul ought to look great

That's very cool. I think the space battle, Gungan city and Coruscant will look great.

TPM will look awesome in 3D but I don't know if I'll see it. 3D gives me terrible headaches.

My hubby mentioned something about this yesterday.

Since the prequels were all done digitally (or mostly digital in the case of TPM), I can see them making it 3-D. It'll be interesting how well they can get the OT 3-D. I'm assuming they'll use some sort of high-powered software to do it since they obviously didn't film the originals with 3-D projection in mind.

I think the Podrace in 3D is going to look phenomenal. So will the Maul/Jinn/Kenobi jedi duel.

When you get right down to the nitty gritty, what won't look cooler in 3D?

Just when I thought theaters were going to die a slow death, Lucas swoops in on his white horse and saves the entire industry.

He's a pioneer who wants to experiment with new stuff and always has been. This may be interesting... I just wish it was a better movie being put in 3D form. Howard the duck perhaps? The action scenes will look spectacucular as always though.

I think if done right the film will come out great and open the door for more films to become 3-D. As I've said before, Jurassic Park would look fantastic in 3-D.

I think they will take advantage of this 3D release to make Yoda CGI, and I'd support them 100%.

I hate to be the first to say this, but will it bring much money in at the box office? A lot of people never liked the film, does anyone know how well it did on VHS and DVD? If it did well, then there is probably nothing to worry about.

3-D as in three-dementional. Being able to see things with perspective...things look like they're actually sharing space with you. What you see normally on your TV or movie screen, or even a piece of paper is considered 2-D since it's flat and kept to one plain. If all you saw was a dot, that would be 1-D.

I'd have to see it to get it. Are we taking 3d glasses to create and illusion?

I don't believe Lucas would do this if he hadn't come up with something. Expect no less than the best 3D movie experience ever.

    Yes we are.

Agreed. And the technology behind this is the same technology behind GOTA. Basically, the way it works is the way its worked for the last 50 years, only now instead of shooting through red and blue lenses, its light and dark, which allows for 3D movies that are in full colour.

Pod Race, Gungan City, Space Battle, Duels should all be really great. Naboo land battle might be a 3D delight as well.
