For things that aren't necessarily whacky or outright enraging (depending on one's POV), but just really really dumb and stupid. For starters: Deputy leaves loaded gun in Macy's dressing room.
I definitely hope that's what she meant, considering how she spelled it, its a made up adjective derived from a word that I don't believe to be board appropriate. On topic, why was he even in the dressing room taking off his gun to begin with?
I thought the derp thread was pretty much this, but I guess that's dedicated to political derps only.
Example of me being stupid: Waitress: Do you want the one piece or two piece chicken dinner? Me: What's the difference?
Anyone seen the Bill Engvall "Here's Your Sign" routines? Gold mine stupidity stories there. I'll do an example of me being stupid: I went to visit my parents shortly after they fenced in their backyard; the fence had the name and phone number of the installer on it. Me: "Did that guy install your fence?" My father: "No, I did it, I just let him put his name on it." Oops.
Mostly. I hated defining it but 'derp' is essentially some quote or view that is utterly over the top that is either truly meant or something they want you to think they really mean and not hyperbole. It just happens that political stuff makes the most derp that I can find in the media.
That's pretty much how I thought of the 'derp' thread. I made this one for the plain old ordinary stupid stuff, like the type of stuff you see on those fail compliations on YouTube. The guy leaving his gun in the dressing room for example. Or that Carnival Cruise ship Triumph that collided with another ship yesterday.
15 year old girl charged with making a series of bomb threats. Really really dumb and stupid, especially in light of recent events.
