ST The Praetorian Guard in TLJ and beyond...

I don't think there is a dedicated PG thread... and I am unsure if its been discussed already...

But what I am wondering... Snoke is off in the Unknown Regions and it doesn't appear easy to find him and it certainly doesn't see Luke [or any other Jedi] threatened him... so my question is:

If Snoke is an all-powerful Supreme Leader of all that we never saw in the GFFA so far... why does he need Guards at all?

I know the obvious answers... so no need to tell me "duh"

But the follow-up question might be if he needs guarding... might we find out that Luke, Rey, the Jedi, whoever - have actual Allies we will get to know that are out there in the UR? Could the Chiss flip from Thrawn's interpretation to being some sort of ally in the future?

 

Probably same reason why Yoda needed a cane..

Are these allies in the UR could possibly appear in the fourth trilogy of Episodes X-XII? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!!!!!!!

 

Do they have names?
The Porgs and tiny croupiers get names.

 

I have more of an issue with the fact that they have bladed weapons. I mean, why don't they have blasters? How are they supposed to fight rey when she has a lightsaber? I'm not big on their design either. I'm hoping they don't actually exist in the film and rey actually fights the KOR.

 

Perhaps his Throne Room is magnetically shielded?

No but it would stop attackers from using blasters...which 99999999.999999% of all attackers would use. Then the Praetorian Guard would have the upper hand. I don't think Snoke was thinking of Jedi when preparing his inner sanctum defences.

 

Gotta have a cool acrobatic sword fighting.
Someone will shoot. Clang, clang, the blasts are deflected and conveniently knock the blasters out of the attackers hands.

I think Snoke gets his powers by eating giant sandiwiches. That's why the guards need those XXL butter knifes.

If Kylo's not worried about blasters, then I doubt Snoke would
