    The Problem

A-5 had a problem. He wasn?t used to solving problems as he was only an ARC trooper. Not a general just an ARC Clone Trooper.
He had been given a mission that had seemed easy until now. A small group of Clone Troopers had to infiltrate a Separatist base and he had been ordered to let them in. A-5 had approached through the sewer. Unfortunately the sewers were to small for the rest of the Clone Troopers to get in all at once. So General Obi-Wan Kenobi told A-5 to sneak into the courtyard entrance and open the main gates. The Clone Troopers would be behind the gate. All that he had to do was to cross the courtyard and open the gate, via a small panel on the wall, and the Clones would come flooding in.
The difficult part was getting to the gate. Intelligence had said that there were only a few Droids in the base. That was untrue.
Several Battle Droids and three turrets were in position behind the main gate. A-5 could never reach the gate without getting shot. Somehow the Droids and turrets had to be destroyed.
He had two grenades and one laser bolt left in his rifle. At the moment A-5 was crouched behind a wall that was the same length as the courtyard. The wall had two openings on the left side but none on the right. Past the wall were three turrets and two Super Battle Droids. One turret was on the far right, another in the middle and the final one on the far left. In between the left and the middle turret stood an erect Battle Droid. In between the middle an the right turret stood the second droid. The control panel to open the gate was on the far right.
Behind him was a mechanic station where a lone mechanic slept.
So far A-5 had come up with several tactics yet none seemed foolproof. His first tactic was to shoot the Battle Droid on the right and throw a grenade at the left turret and the middle turret. The flaw was that when he went to open the gate the right turret would shred him apart.
His second plan also had a flaw. The Clone had planned to throw a grenade at the far right turret yet there was no opening in the wall that was close to that turret. On top of that he knew he couldn?t throw the grenade far as he had hurt his arm when he was sneaking in.
Why am I so clumsy, he thought.
There had to be a way to get through.
    And then the idea came.
Silently he moved backwards and approached the mechanic?s station. The door quietly slid open and A-5 slipped in. Luckily the mechanic was sound asleep. Coming up behind him A-5 hit him over the head with the butt of his gun. The ARC trooper quickly removed his armor and removed the clothes from the mechanic. He then took the mechanic?s attire and put it on. A-5 walked over to the computer and got the area schematics up. He saw what he was looking for and smiled.
He walked out of the station and into the courtyard with the best "hallo I?m an idiot" expression he could manage. Gathering his courage he walked up to one of the Super Battle Droids and said, "Hi. I?m new and I was wondering if there was a bathroom around here."
    "Right through the gate."
A-5 grinned and walked over to the control panel. He quickly punched a few of the buttons and the gates opened. The Battle Droids and turrets were destroyed in a second as the Clone Troopers came in. A-5 thought he deserved a promotion.

    End
