FF:SA The Public Relations Thread

Tis here that you will find everything to do with the 'public image' of SAFF.

This will include promotion, appearances and requests from outside organisations.

I have secured an understanding with Adelaide entertainer 'Daddy Long Legs' (who some of you saw approach us at the Norwood Pageant) that any enquiries from the public needing costumed SW characters will be directed towards us.

It is important that all queries are directed to me as I have set down conditions for appearances (PM me for an explanation of this).

I will be sending an email with which costumes we have, and would like to accompany them with photos of SAFFers in costume. If you have a full length photo of yourself in costume, If you could PM me that too with a short description, that would be helpful!

So if you would like the opportunity to appear at events in your costume and help promote SAFF, please PM me so I can construct a portfolio.

 

Did flyers get handed out on Saturday?

 

Nope, didnt get them printed in time. Work was flat out.
Are in production now... should be delivered soon..

 

While there were no flyers, there was a nice SAFF sign on the float, and we already have an 'appearance' booked for this Saturday.

Ooh, talking about promotion, did anyone get any pics of the float *with* the logo. Could come in handy for a little website that needs updating....any links to an appropriate image would be great.

 

Alrighty ... public relations and promotion of SAFF takes off in earnest this weekend, with a few things.

1. The appearance of S-P and myself as jedi at a wedding on Saturday.

2. A very rushed got-together group for a photo for the Advertiser promoting something called 'Heros and Villians'. A DVD about SW good and bad guys ... or something like that. It is scheduled to appear in the Saturday Advertiser. *NOTE* This was not an official SAFF promo event as such, due to the very short timelines (as in within 5 hours from notification to the actual photo) but should help our cause.

So ... it has begun.

The promo shot happened tonight at 7pm, after I was told to organise something at about 2pm!!

 

they wouldn't all fit in the one shot

Seriously...would be really good to get them ALL together one day ( soon)

I like the irony of the Sith & Jedi working together !! for the good of the SAFF...neat!

 

They only wanted a small number (only one person initially) and wanted to know numbers almost straight away! I used the phone numbers of people in my mobile phone who I knew I could ring without their work getting annoyed, or who I was hoping weren't working.

It was VERY short notice and I spent quite a while frantically ringing the people I could. Not a situation I was relishing ... and my boss was getting very, very annoyed as I was using work time for the promotion of SAFF.

 

patience....is the Jedi way.

We'll get that photo of ALL the plates soon...maybe the SAFF XMas party ?? Yeh ??

In light of the ridiculously last minute promo we were asked to do, we need an 'on call costume list' in case this kind of thing happens again (and trust me I hope it doesn't!)

So ... anyone who wants to be involved ... read on

as you know, Toddi, Fox and I are always on call for costume shoots....last night was a fine example of that - even if it was him who got the call first!!! lol
