IC: Darth Corvus walked into the Arena. He stopped and looked around. He saw the other combatants and silently wished them luck. He turned his head and looked at opponent. He sighed as he studied her. He looked and the judges and bowed to them, then turned to his opponent and bowed to her. He reached and towards his belt and grasped his light saber. He activated it and was still before exploding into a Force fueled sprint. He swung at Nehru hoping to end the match easily and quickly.

Kaleesh-Cyborg (Grievance Vexx) vs. Anakin.Skywalker (Reiis Invadator)
    Grievance Vexx - move 2 of 7

Through the dust-laden air, Grievance's yellow eyes lock unblinking onto the black-robed figure taking a direct route straight toward him from the front. His position held at the center of the arena definitely is a silent testament of his own confidence as a warrior. He is a bit surprised she hadn't taken advantage of this position; surprised and pleased. So she has learned a thing or two about how he fights, always preferring the defensive as he tries to force his opponent to strike first. Very well. He certainly can adjust to her boldness. He inclines his head to her as she addresses him.

"A pity we meet again under such pressing circumstances, Reiis Invadator, you who pursue greatness to a degree that your ambition has potential to blind you," he replies, though his statement is not intended to offend, but to remind. He does not want a quick victory because something so trivial as ego trips Reiis up. Indeed, she is ambitious and with that, there is nothing inherently wrong, but it can pose the danger of self-sabotage and while Grievance is perhaps not as competitive as she, there is much at stake here. His motivation for victory over truce is much stronger. "I fully expect to be the target of every ounce of your power and prowess."

Ready now to battle another day, he shrugs off his cloak and lets it fall to the ground behind him, his hands immediately retrieving two of his lightsabers the instant Reiis activates her weapon. Her first act of charging him head-on does not surprise him much, yet it does in a way. Having openly invited her to unleash her power, he had been half expecting her to make her first attack through the Force. She definitely has learned to be less predictable. He readies himself to meet her charge now. Reiis has always been direct; a quality someone as to-the-point as himself can appreciate. Instead of simply blocking, he takes a single long-strided step to the left, putting his blades out as he does so; one aimed to collide with her blade and the other aimed at her legs. His strike is deliberate, calculated, and precise. Depending on how she responds, this duel could end very quickly.

    Reiis Invadator - move 2 of 7

"A pity we meet again under such pressing circumstances, Reiis Invadator, you who pursue greatness to a degree that your ambition has potential to blind you. I fully expect to be the target of every ounce of your power and prowess."

The words, despite the intentions of the speaker, did indeed offend Reiis to a degree. A small, but annoying degree. To suggest that she would be her own undoing served as a reminder of her past where such had been true.....too true....But Reiis would lose more limbs by not paying attention. She shoved the thoughts out of her mind as he dodged to the left, leaving his lightsabers behind, in a way, for her to lose a limb on. Or her head....

One advantage Reiis had over the cyborg was that she was physically smaller and could fit in places he couldn't. It also meant that some of his moves didn't entirely accommodate for the possibilities her smaller size presented. This moment was one such instance. Reiis's Darksaber collided with his own weapon, and with a quick, upward thrust she shielded her head and back as she jumped over the second lightsaber and under the first. Wasting little time, Reiis darted behind the Kaleesh, simultaneously closing the distance between them in an attempt to make it harder for him to use his weapons. She swung her Darksaber heavily at his back, augmenting the blade by letting a stream of Force Lightning travel along its length.

Kaleesh-Cyborg (Grievance Vexx) vs. Anakin.Skywalker (Reiis Invadator)
    Grievance Vexx - move 3 of 7

The battle-hardened Kaleesh had expected Reiis to find a way to evade his counterattack; he just hadn't counted on her using her petite build to do it. She definitely is trending unpredictability as opposed to their past spars with one another when he had frustrated many of her attempts to best him with a weapon. She has yet to resort to distance attacks through the Force and this is most appreciated by Grievance, even as she infuses her blade with electricity. At least it is still a blow made by her weapon.

Still, he takes the hit to his back and it is nothing short of painful due to the burst of lightning that travels easily along his metal body. He growls in unmistakable pain, but is undaunted. Once Reiis had evaded him, he knew she would strike and so he had braced himself for it. Crouching low and whirling out from under her blade, he rises up quickly, the fiery glowing stripe across the back of his left shoulder plate evidence that he had taken a well-placed hit. It is time to unleash the beast.

Stalking forward, he becomes a whirlwind of strobing blue and green light, coming at Reiis with a barrage of fast strikes, each one coming from a different direction and each one targeting a different part of Reiis' body; a slash toward her side, a low strike toward her knees, a high strike toward her face, a chop toward her hip followed up by an attempted jab at her midsection with the hilt of his lightsaber. He unleashes this volley of blows over the span of a few seconds, then repeats the moves in a different pattern in an attempt to overwhelm her and force her onto the defensive.

Kaleesh-Cyborg (Grievance Vexx) vs. @Anakin.Skywalker (Reiis Invadator)
    Reiis Invadator - move 3 of 7
    Reiis had been waiting.

Waiting, ready, for the defense that was to come.....was supposed to come. But to her horror and astonishment, her blade connected to his back, as did the Force Lightning. Reiis jumped back, mouth agape, and almost dropped her darksaber.

"What the -- ??? How come you didn't -- ???" she blustered. "YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO COUNTER IT!!!!" I mean, Reiis wanted to win this damned thing with no doubt about it, but she certainly didn't hate Grievance. And she most certainly didn't want to kill him! No time to dwell on what is past....

A beast had awakened in him.....something completely new to Reiis. Their previous duels had been to learn, but now that this was a competition with quite a hefty reward to the winner, Reiis was discovering a more violent side to this Kaleesh warrior. Which please her, in a way. He needed that, and he needed to draw upon the Force with it to truly become the Sith he was meant to be. But then again, no time for reflections upon nature and worth.

Attacks flew at her, seemingly from all directions as Reiis did her best to block them all with either her Darksaber or the durasteel arm. But that would be nearly impossible, even with the Force. Indeed....it was. The attack to her face is one that she failed to defend against.

Kind of necessary, you know....the face. Major part there.

The blow cut upward along the mask, sending sparks and shards from the mask flying off. The intense light from the lightsaber blinded her momentarily, sending her reeling backwards. She cried out in surprise, for there was no pain from the blow, and unleashed a Force wave towards the cyborg that also propelled her away and to safety. With her left land, she reached up to feel the mask.

    No.

If she couldn't see the shatters that ran along her view, the hissing of air certainly alerted her that her life support capsule had been breached. She would live, for now, if the mask wasn't destroyed further. Reiis staggered to a standing position, the Darksaber positioned protectively in front of her as she circled the cyborg. She didn't dare speak, for fear he'd hear what her voice really sounded like behind the mask. Pausing, Reiis sent a blast of Force Lightning to the cyborg.

He'd pay. Even if she didn't kill him...

    He'd pay.

Kaleesh-Cyborg (Grievance Vexx) vs. Anakin.Skywalker (Reiis Invadator)
    Grievance Vexx - move 4 of 7

Perhaps his attack is fueled by long-suppressed anger and frustration from the constant harassment he receives from many within the ranks, but Grievance is fully engaged now. With others watching and so much hinging upon this duel, it would be false to assume he was not out to prove something; that he, Force or no Force, is a...well...force to be reckoned with. As he unleashes his rapid unorthodox assault, many things are going through his mind. Ironically, very little of his rage is meant for the one he duels now. There are others. Many others. And he inwardly wishes they all were on the wrong end of his blades.

"Do not tell me how to fight, Invadator," he replies in a low and feral growl, "Even countering, I would have suffered the backlash, courtesy of being made of metal."

It is clear now that he knows what he is doing and had taken the hit on purpose. Blocking it would have brought far greater pain to him, so he had opted for the blow less likely to do substantial damage. At this rate, it was a minor burst of electricity that dissipated as soon as he whirled out from under it. Blocking would have potentially put him in a lock that would have kept him under a sustained charge that could have weakened him a great deal.

As he continues his relentless attack, coming to life with all the fearsome tactics his father had used before him, his mind is elsewhere, reliving the agony and humiliation he had endured after his capture by the Sith lord who had transformed him. The cruel face of his captor is before him, so real in his mind that it is staring back at him from Reiis' mask. This triggers the aim of the strike she has just now suffered. As soon as the blow connects with her mask, Grievance slows down and backs off as though realizing he is not in that place his mind had taken him.

It is difficult for most to read on his expression, but Grievance is just as shocked as Reiis had been when he had allowed her strike to hit his back. How had he slipped into such mindless rage and fury like that? How had he lost touch with the present reality? He doesn't have much time to consider the answers to these questions as Reiis calls upon a Force wave to push him back. He does get caught in it momentarily, but quickly anchors his talons into the ground to stop himself from flying into a wall. Just after recovering his footing, he gets hit full in the chest by the nasty blast of Force-lightning from Reiis. She has zapped him before in their duels, but never with this much intensity. It isn't enough to short-circuit his cybernetics, but it is certainly painful. Again, his mind is taken back to his capture and torture and the anger at the injustice engulfs him once more.

As the blast dies away, the cyborg staggers sideways, trying with all his might to resist the effects of the electrical current still coursing over his metal frame though Reiis' assault has ceased. Lowering his head in an ominous and angry way, he looks upon his opponent with the fierce eyes of a predator.

"At last...I understand this twisted reality that has become my fate," his voice rumbles, slightly distorted with static as electricity crackles over his body, "There are no allies...only competitors who later become enemies. Well, let it be known, Reiis Invadator, that I fight for the love of the game and I do not play to lose."

Having regained some amount of control of his faculties, Grievance comes after her again, this time taking a flying leap at her, talons extended, to strike like a bird of prey. He certainly wouldn't mind having the satisfaction of picking her up and slamming her into the ground again.

    IC: Alekto

Though the man was quick to evade Alekto's swift uppercut, her blade still caught his ear, drawing a slight bit of blood. Alekto allowed herself a grim chuckle as the man continued to stumble backward, obviously hobbled by his sliced ankle. She was pleased with herself, really. For as long as she'd had her cortosis-weave bracers, she'd never actually gotten the chance to test them out in any sort of lightsaber combat. They did to his lightsaber exactly what she'd anticipated they'd do. Still grinning, Alekto put her dukes up, ready for the next go-'round.

What she didn't expect was the Force lightning that crackled towards her in the next moment. There were two tendrils; one that struck the ground beside her, and one that hit Alekto square in the chest. She convulsed, the electricity coursing through her for a few brief, painful moments. With a strangled wail, Alekto dropped to her knees. Her inky blue-black hair was now even more disheveled, and her ratty cowl sported a new rent in its edge. "Ugh," Alekto groaned, putting her shaking hands atop her knees, "that kriffin' hurt." Still vibrating from the Force-lightning, Alekto quickly pushed herself to her bare feet again, took a breath, and in a heartbeat had squared her shoulders, taken aim, and sent a Force push towards the Vahla, fully intending to knock him off balance, and maybe even send him to his rear in the underbrush.

    IC: Saadi

Watching Thunderous carefully, Saadi knew his presence had been detected. Frustrated by this, he sought the power of the dark side and resolved to practice greater stealth next time.

Meanwhile, he noticed his Sith opponent held his unignited lightsaber at the ready. Saadi knew exactly why he was here and what the stakes were. He calmed his mind and breathed deeply.

At that moment, Saadi heard some rather bizarre sounds coming from Thunderous's direction. What kind of creature was this?

Seeing his opponent lumbering along, while making odd grunting noises, momentarily made Saadi question the man's sanity. He briefly considered leaving the pit to go find a medical droid to assist the ailing man.

All of that became irrelevent as Saadi heard the unmistakable yell of a Sith who meant to fight that day. The charade was over.

Remembering that his furious sprint attack had not worked in his first duel, Saadi activated his lightsaber and began quickly, yet calmly walking towards Thunderous.
Studying him and watching his every movement, Saadi prepared for the inevitable clash of lightsabers. His opponent was clearly ready for a fight.

    Reiis Invadator - move 4 of 7

    Unexpected.

Once again, the cyborg fails to block her attack, whether it be intentional or not. A glint of concern rises in Reiis -- part of fighting was blocking the attacks for Force! sake! -- but it paled in comparison to the attention she gave the sharp hissing on her mask and the desperate whirring of her life support system to keep up with the loss in pressure. She couldn't continue like this for very long....something would break, probably her mask next. The force she exerted to send her attack had put pressure on it's cracked surface, sending a craggy line a little further up the view screen. She snarled, touching it gently and wincing as if it were a flesh wound, watching as debris from the mask fell to the ground in a miniature shower onto her boot, the finer particles flying away in the slight breeze.

    He spoke.

"At last...I understand this twisted reality that has become my fate. There are no allies...only competitors who later become enemies. Well, let it be known, Reiis Invadator, that I fight for the love of the game and I do not play to lose."

Her eyes burned liked red-hot metal as she glared at her opponent, the pang of guilt for hurting him not reaching her immediate consciousness. Looking like little more than a black streak due to the speed, Reiis darted out of the way of his heavy landing, bringing the Darksaber up in preparatory defense against his own sabers as she whirled around to face him. But her attack would not be from her weapon. If he was out to kill her, then she'd have to get just as ugly.

Reiis was too distracted sending the Mind Shard to notice the new cracks.

Kaleesh-Cyborg (Grievance Vexx) vs. Anakin.Skywalker (Reiis Invadator)
    Grievance Vexx - move 5 of 7

There had been little choice in the matter when Grievance had been hit by Reiis' Force-lightning. She had essentially hit him with both barrels when she had dealt him a Force-wave and then the lightning immediately thereafter, so taking that amount of punishment had not been intentional.

As he hits the ground mere inches from where Reiis had once stood, it may or may not be noted that his intention was not to kill. Had that been the case, he would have landed directly where she had been standing. He has crushed many foes in this fashion as did his father at one time. If he had truly wanted to kill her, he most certainly could have with a move like that.

From where he stands now, he is nothing short of intimidating. The look is his eyes can be likened to an untamed beast operating under the primal instinct of kill or be killed. It's safe to say he is not in his right mind though. For whatever reason, painful memories are aggravating the temper he normally keeps under control.

Then the mind shard hits him. Of course, it is another attack he is unequipped to stop or counter. No. Not unequipped. He is equipped; he just has no idea how to use what he is equipped with and he may not have used it even if he were educated in it simply out of stubbornness. So he is hit by the mind shard, an invisible blow that staggers him slightly as a sharp pain strikes him like a white-hot knife in his skull. He growls and shakes his head, staying focused in spite of the pain that lingers very much like the tinnitus sensation he has now from the Force being drawn upon by his opponent.

He stalks in a semi-circle around Reiis, sizing her up for another attack, yet one more thing uncharacteristically odd about him today. He usually prefers to take the counter strike over striking first. Something beyond what is known or seen definitely has a hand in provoking his aggression. He crouches low, shifting his weight to his left leg as he prepares to strike out with the right. He still has it in mind to give Reiis a free flying lesson and that is what he is attempting to do as he makes a lightning-fast strike with his talons.

Kaleesh-Cyborg (Grievance Vexx) vs. @Anakin.Skywalker (Reiis Invadator)
    Reiis Invadator - move 5 of 7

The mind shard worked, as expected, though instead of slowing him down, it only made me that much more furious and dangerous -- and Reiis didn't quite know it yet. He circled, which gave her time to lift her Darksaber and prepare for an offense. Reiis knew this well. He would wait and circle....she would get bored and/or impatient and/or angry....and she'd strike first, usually giving him the upper hand in the next few blows. And Reiis could handle that; it wasn't really a problem, and she'd learned a lot from his signature "wait for the opponent" style.

But all rules were being violated, and Reiis would pay the price for not seeing this sooner. Defying his own preference, style, and wisdom, Grievance lashed out first with his right leg, snatching her robes and flinging her across the arena. Her first thoughts were of her already-fragile mask, her hands flying up to cover it instead of cushion the landing.

    It helped....a little.

Reiis collided with the ground, severely jarred from not having cushioned the fall. Her mask was dangerously close to shattering now, the hissing of depressurizing air getting ever louder in her ears -- her vision filled with spiderweb-like cracks. Aching from the fall, Reiis pushed herself gingerly into a sitting position, one hand positioned in front of the mask as if that was supposed keep it from shattering to pieces. She stood up completely. The mask stayed. Thank the Force! she thought to herself as she turned once again to her opponent.

The Darksaber has fallen a few feet away, watching as always, awaiting its command. And Reiis wasn't about to let it be made a trophy. Silently......determined.....Reiis summoned it to her hand and ignited the inky blade, her voice coming hoarse and broken through her malfunctioning life support system.

    "Your move."

Grievance stands there clutching his weapons in fists that look like they could shatter the hilts. His eyes are intense with blind rage as he stares Reiis down right where she has fallen; striding toward her with deliberate steps; his talons clanking against the ground under the heavy weight of his metal body. He is not looking at her though; he appears to be looking through her as though seeing someone else entirely; someone he wants to kill. If Reiis has never been afraid of him before, she might be getting a taste of it now. This is a side to the Kaleesh cyborg yet to be seen by any representing the Sith. This is the side of him that had brutally cut down those who had tried to oppose or control him.

"You first faced me with every intention of humiliating me and making an example of me," he growls, a subtle distortion coming through in his voice from minor damage done by the Force-lightning, "You should have made good your threat, Invadator. Now it is you who will be humiliated and no one, Dark Side or otherwise, will provoke me again if they possess any wisdom at all. Face it, young one, you have only one thing that rests in your favor now. Thank your lucky stars I do not use the Force."

With that said, Grievance obliges her invitation to make the first move by delivering a vicious double strike, swinging both sabers in a wide arc; a move with the potential to make another Darth Maul out of Reiis by slicing her in two if she fails to evade his attack.

    Reiis Invadator - move 6 of 7

The cyborg strode -- no, pounded -- towards her, his eyes gleaming with a more powerful rage than Reiis had even seen from any Sith she'd fought before. Instinctively, she backed a few steps away, but his advance was inevitable. Reiis had never feared Grievance, but the figure, the monster, she saw before her instilled in her a degree of terror and dread she'd only ever felt when she'd been disfigured by the Night Herald...

"You first faced me with every intention of humiliating me and making an example of me. You should have made good your threat, Invadator. Now it is you who will be humiliated and no one, Dark Side or otherwise, will provoke me again if they possess any wisdom at all. Face it, young one, you have only one thing that rests in your favor now. Thank your lucky stars I do not use the Force."
A double strike from his lightsabers flashed towards her. Reiis, hardly able to breath in the almost-completely decompressed environment, was able to block the tip of one of the sabers, but failed at the second. It cut into her side, stealing and burning a chunk of flesh as she went down screaming in pain. The Darksaber was mere inches away from her hand, but she was in too much pain to use it. She gasped for breath, but her lungs couldn't take in enough to ease their pain.

Reiis looked past her spiderwebbed mask into the face of Grievance Vexx, looming above her with his lightsabers. If she didn't do something....anything....she would die right there and then.

Desperation overriding the pain, Reiis rolled onto her back and lifted her left arm -- a potentially lethal blast of Force Lightning emanating from her fingertips.

It all happened so fast, and yet again, the meddlesome Trysos interfered with his fight the moment he was about to end it.

Predicting a swipe from him as well as several more afterwards, he leapt out of the way, and focused his mind on the futility of his situation. He focused on the fact that the Force had other plans for him today than to end the life of the Sith known as Grievance, and humbled himself to accept that. Perhaps it was for the best, and he used that humility to shrink his presence. His biggest vice is pride, and from that pride is where his presence in the Force is centered upon.

"Let us test how well your body can keep with your obvious foresight, Colcha."

“The Force has other plans for me.”

But when he humbles himself, he allows himself to shrink that presence down to undetectable levels, and when he lets go of his inner desires and places his destiny in the hands of the Force, he can do truly wonderful things. Such is the Art of the Small. The ability that now allowed him to vanish into thin air with no detectable trace.

It was as if he had completely ceased to exist. He was invisible to sight. He gave off no Force presence. He could not be smelled. He could not be heard. By all comprehensible senses, he was quite simply, gone. Obviously, the oncoming strikes aimed at him would miss, or more likely his opponent would just not expend his energy to make them as he seemingly wasn’t there.

Then suddenly, still cloaked in the veil of humility, Kev-Mas narrowed his focus to the ground beneath Trysos. Loud crackling noises could be heard as it started to transform, and a large spike jutted forth from in between the man’s feet, intended to impale him. Aiming for the most painful area of all.

Besides the use of stealth, the only other trick Kev-Mas still used from his life as an Assassin in the service of the Emperor was the penchant for fighting dirty. Causing confusion and aggravation in his enemies. Using whatever means necessary to get the upper hand, and yes, also cheap shots to sensitive areas to cause unimaginable pain.

Kev-Mas did still have a sense of honor, and that was seen in his desire to end the Kaleesh’s suffering as quickly and painlessly as possible.

However, that was merely because at that point he was no longer fighting him. The one and only absolute that Kev-Mas sees, is that there is no honor in combat. Only victory, or defeat.

As the blue-white lighting struck the woman square in her chest, the tendrils dispersed through her body and dropped her to her knees. With teeth clenched his mouth spread into a sadistic smile, obviously he enjoyed the retribution. "Ugh," Alekto groaned, "that kriffin' hurt." Her hands now upon her knees, she looked wobbly as she rose to her feet, but after taking a breath recovered quickly enough.

Darth Prazutis did not expect her next attack, he could feel her strength in the Force but she was obviously untrained, as such the Force Push she hit him with knocked him back several steps. If not for being pushed into a cluster of three tall trees behind him he probably would have lost his footing altogether, additionally the trees had given him an idea.

The crimson blade hummed angrily as it was expertly maneuvered into a horizontal cut, it sliced through two of the smaller trees with ease. As they began to fall he reversed the momentum of his lightsaber and brought it through the last of the cluster, this one the largest of the trio. They did not require a push in the right direction, he had calculated his cut perfectly so they fell the direction he desired. Alekto now had three trees racing down on her, she would be forced to deal with them which allowed the cultist a respite.

Speed and stealth were no longer an option so he drew on the rejuvenating power of the Dark Side and stood his ground, he would be prepared for the inevitable counter-strike.

Kaleesh-Cyborg (Grievance Vexx) vs. Anakin.Skywalker (Reiis Invadator)
    Grievance Vexx - move 7 of 7

The block deflects his first blade and actually kicks it back at Grievance, leaving a burned streak across his steel-plated face in its wake, but he regards it not. His second blade meets its mark and the shriek from Reiis is all he needs to know he has made a successful strike. Satisfied that he has effectively bested her with his weapons, Grievance steps back, his shoulders heaving with each slow breath of exertion as he attempts to rein in his rage. He has not allowed himself to get this worked up since he had fought against the Sith lord who had transformed him and that man had overpowered and defeated him. Not today though. Today, he stands undefeated while his opponent lies withered at his feet.

He has nothing to say in the wake of all the destruction he has caused. He merely raises one lightsaber above his fallen opponent, ready to deliver the coup de grâce his personal star fighter is named for, but something causes him to hesitate. There is much going on behind those yellow reptilian eyes; more than any onlooker or even Reiis herself could ever know. The rage has dissipated and now he just looks haunted. Ashamed.

    Dishonored.

Turning away from the havoc he has caused, his once tightly clenched fists loosely gripping his lightsabers now, he hadn't expected Reiis to unleash the fully-powered deadly streak of lightning from her fingertips. The charge hits his back, directly between his shoulder blades and dangerously close to his heart, causing the cybernetic monstrosity to convulse in a disturbing display of both organic and cybernetic parts suffering on the verge of complete shutdown.

Stubborn to the bitter end, he fights it, not wanting to fall by a Force attack. Managing to turn back toward Reiis despite the throes of agony rapidly crippling his body enough to bring him to his knees, he draws back his lightsaber in a shaking arm, bands of lightning snaking and crackling all around it, and he flings it as hard as he can in Reiis' direction. It is a desperate move to attempt to cease the string of electricity causing him such torture, followed up by him flinging his other lightsaber at her as well. As soon as the second one leaves his grasp, the cyborg collapses facedown in the dust, too proud to beg for mercy despite desperately not wanting to succumb to the effects of the Force. Death is close; he can feel it in the form of electricity burning down his resistance. A fight well fought is over; it may be his final one. The last thing his yellow eyes see is the black blurred form of his opponent and it is as though her black robes swallow up his vision and any light he can see, plunging him into cold, numb darkness where pain and rage and agony no longer exist.

@Kaleesh-Cyborg (Grievance Vexx) vs. @Anakin.Skywalker (Reiis Invadator)
    Reiis Invadator - move 7 of 7

Reiis had managed to crawl into something of a standing position on her knees, right hand clutching the wound on her side as she electrocuted the cyborg with her left. She coudln't see much through her mask, but she could tell that he--

A flash. Two flashes. The unmistakable him of a lightsaber. Her Force Lightning stopped.

Reiis lingered on her knees for a moment, twin sabers jutting out from her chest, somehow still ignited. Her respirator sputtered and choked in artificial heaves and coughs, then burst in a small, fiery explosion. She collapsed backwards, the mask partially shattering to expose her disfigued face. There was no air, no lungs to pull the air. She shuddered, her limbs jerking and twitching in protest for an instant before pain wracked her whole body and terror enveloped her. She convulsed involuntarily as her cells cried out for oxygen, but unable to find it. Reiis's body shuddered again before slowly sinking into the catatonic calm of lingering death.

The last thing she saw was a faded view of the Darksaber, not far away....watching.

    Darkness.

Ryrr (Captain Owen) vs. Leda (QueenSabe7)
    Ryrr move: 1 of 7
    Leda move : 1 of 7

    IC: Leda

Leda did not pause as she confidently strode out from one of the many entrances that lined the lower level of the pit, breaking free of the shadows and placing herself out in the open. Hiding and plotting and creeping about seemed like an awful waste of time to the young warrior so she kept on without hesitation, beginning to cross the rough ground on her way to the center. It wasn’t a great distance but not exactly close and she forced herself to take her time, savoring each step that brought her closer to her opponent.

Only knowing his name, she focused all her attention on the lone figure waiting for her… a fellow Knight called Ryrr.

Hello gorgeous, she mused, staring him down from afar.

Having never been given the opportunity to duel before, she was practically bouncing on the balls of her feet as she progressed, struggling to suppress her rising excitement. See, Leda loved the physicality of combat; the exertion, sweat, blood and burn of warding off a deadly threat with nothing more than your own body and whatever weapon you could wield within your grasp. It was the thrill she always sought and she knew it would be found here.

Nearly there now, she pulled her saber hilt free but did not yet activate the weapon. Instead Leda lightly tossed the silver cylinder back and forth between her hands, never taking her bright eyes off of Ryrr as she did so, sizing him up and studying him in detail until she finally came to a halt.

Standing about an arm’s length away from her would-be foe, her hilt stilled and remained in her left hand. She was dangerously close, she knew but it didn’t faze her. It fueled her. A sly grin stretched out across her face and she chuckled, the impending fight so tantalizingly near she could practically taste it in dark currents of the Force.

He hadn’t shifted an inch, but Leda wasn’t the type to wait for someone else to make the first move and gain the upper hand. Not with the high level of prestige and notoriety that was at stake. No, she would make her master proud by being victorious in this match, a pristine reflection of his teachings. There was simply no other option in her mind to consider.

“Shall we?” she asked him with a small sweeping gesture of her empty right hand as if to taunt him into striking out. It was just for show of course because she didn’t even give him the chance.

Where one might expect her to attack with her exposed lightsaber, she opted for the unexpected. Lunging in towards him suddenly with her left leg, Leda planted her foot and brought about her outstretched arm with force, her hand now clenched into an unyielding fist. Attacking horizontally, her knuckles connected first, landing squarely on Ryrr’s lower jaw with enough power that she felt a shudder run up her arm and teeth graze across her skin. Whether or not they were still attached or ones she may have knocked free, she didn’t know nor care really. A hit is a kriffing hit.

Biting her lower lip in fierce concentration, she yanked her hand back and immediately followed up with an uppercut aimed at his lower abdomen, this time drawing on the Force for speed and added strength.

Her lightsaber could wait. She was having entirely too much fun with her hands.

    PCCViking move: 2 of 7
    Dagobahsystem move: 1 of 7

    IC: Thunderous

Thunderous kept his lightsaber ready as his opponent approached him. He didn't know if Saadi was overconfident, judging by his slow, almost confident strides. Seeing the determined look on his opponent's face, Thunderous activated his lightsaber and prepared to strike.

Thunderous wondered how he should proceed. He knew that going on the offensive was the best way to win the battle, especially against a potentially more experienced opponent. If, however, he was forced to be on the defensive, then Saadi could easily wear him down until a final, deadly strike was made. Thunderous was determined not to give him that opportunity.

He planned to move with quick, decisive strokes, hoping to end the battle quickly. He decided to go low, recognizing the risks. If Saadi moved to block him, so much the better. But if Saadi was clever enough to go for Thunderous's head, then he would be in trouble. He hoped Saadi wasn't the clever type. He aimed for Saadi's legs, hoping to literally sweep him off his feet.

    PCCViking move: 2 of 7
    Dagobahsystem move: 2 of 7

    IC: Saadi

Walking slowly, Saadi called upon the dark side of the Force, and his thoughts briefly, yet reverently turned to the man who had raised him on Coruscant. The man who first taught him the ways of the dark side. The only father figure he had ever known. The father who was murdered by a Jedi Knight.

Tapping into his rekindled rage, Saadi saw his opponent activate his blade, and imagined him to be the Jedi who had destroyed his life, again, and made him an orphan for the second time.

    His anger gave him strength.

Now, within a few feet of Thunderous, a sense of great urgency and determination overtaking his thoughts, Saadi finalized his attack and was about to strike.

At that instant, his fellow Sith opponent's blade deftly sliced at his legs. Saadi lurched backwards, and to the right, while simultaneously turning his body away.
Using his long left arm, which held his saber, he blocked Thunderous's blow with a backhand.

The blades clashed and Saadi pushed off from his opponent's strike, using their combined strength and momentum, making a short hop to land on his feet.
Very clever, he said to himself, regarding Thunderous with a mocking grin.

Regaining firm footing, and combat stance, Saadi lunged at Thunderous, raising his lightsaber over his head, and using a two handed grip, slashed it vertically downward at his opponent's head.

    Dagobahsystem move: 2 of 7

    IC: Thunderous

Thunderous saw the blow coming and dodged out of the way, but only just in time. If he had been a little slower, Saadi would have taken his head right off. Unfortunately, this meant that Saadi was smarter than he thought, so Thunderous knew there wouldn't be a quick end to this fight.

Yet, he thought he saw an opening. Taking advantage of Saadi's downward motion, he wondered if his opponent's momentum would give Thunderous an opening. With Saadi's blade down, it exposed his own head and neck area. A quick strike there should end the duel, but Thunderous would have to be a little bit more clever.

He knew the risks of attempting a decapitating blow. If he raised his lightsaber like Saadi had, then he would expose his chest area. But maybe if he lunged instead, then that might do the trick. Grinning wickedly at Saadi, Thunderous used two hands to lunge at his opponent, hoping that Saadi wouldn't be able to respond in time.

Indeed, Reiis, the would-be-Underlord was a nimble one. She dealt with her tumble quite well, managing to come to a ready position at the end of her spill. This was good. After all, a true warrior would always find himself in need of tempering.

“I don’t intend to fail.” Darth Invidator breathed-out with conviction.

Manticore’s fiery gazed remained one her, always gauging and evaluating.

“No, those who do never intend to.” He answered simply.

Of course, there was more to that riddle, but that was a morsel for another time- perhaps.

He watched her as she oriented herself in a defensive posture. No longer the reckless attacker of moments ago. It would seem a plan had formed as well, seeing how she extended her right arm forward and set her Darksaber into a rapid defensive spin. It created a suitable shield of sorts. Clever and inventive.

A hint of a sneer appeared on the zabrak’s tattooed face as he spoke and watched Reiis begin to swiftly approach.

“We are done here.” He declared in no uncertain terms.

“Only death remains if you continue.”

    Who’s death?

The former High Lord’s grin widened.

Manticore switched off his weapon and turned away, giving his back to Reiis. He proceeded to walk, taking languid steps. Force Power flared within and around the Stygian Executor, like a dark nimbus. In the force, Reiis would sense a spike of great and imminent danger as she approached.

Whether she would heed or ignore the warning remained to be seen.

    IC: Saadi

Saadi's blade missed its mark as Thunderous dodged the blow. His opponent was much faster than he had assumed. Impressive.

No matter. Saadi was patient. Many long years of abuse and suffering on Coruscant had taught him to remain focused.
Saadi allowed the power of the dark side to permeate every recess of his mind. It gave him great focus.

Drawing his blade back up in a defensive stance, Saadi had time to realize his opponent was lunging directly at him with a powerful surge of strength.

Slashing his lightsaber upwards, Saadi deflected Thunderous's strike, the two blades hissing and vibrating with the combined rage of the two combatants.

Separating now, Saadi glared at Thunderous and had an idea.

Hoping to distract his opponent, Saadi used Force push, seeking to make Thunderous lose his balance, at which point, he would move in for a kill strike.
