    Grievance Vexx

Insane or not, Vexx is tired of being underestimated and viewed as a lesser creature than the rest just because he bears a resemblance to a droid. It is interesting that Thunderous sees this as an opportunity to teach him respect; Vexx shares a similar point of view.

He watches the Ithorian high lord enter the Pit, studying him; the way he carries himself. He doesn't seem too concerned about this fight and Vexx hadn't expected him to be. He is well aware of his inferior rank to three out of four of the ones he has challenged, but status means nothing to him. Experience is of far greater value in his culture.

"Welcome, High Lord Serapis," he replies with a respectful bow before casting off his cloak and inclining his head to Thunderous and Valdimir respectively, "Darth Thunderous. Darth Valdimir." An unsightly glob of phlegm lands with a sickly splat at his feet and the cyborg looks up, disgust hidden behind his skeletal mask. "High Lord Ravenous. I am surprised you all have found it within yourselves to humor a droid of all things."

He is already angry; there isn't much need to stoke it. And while he is still uncomfortable using the Force in a fight, he feels that these four Sith who have antagonized him all this time without taking it to an arena to prove he is as incompetent as they claim he is are making a mistake in humoring him now. They might have had an easier time humiliating him before he had come to accept his powers. Perhaps they all will learn something today.

    The Pit..

He sat there upon his perch what seemed like forever. Looking to Vexx, then Serapis, then Thunderous... Then Valdimar........ Then Vexx again. He rolled his eyes and pushed himself off and down below.

Ravenous landed gracefully on one knee, well, as gracefully as a Wookiee Sith-spawn can land. After the dust cleared, the beast made it a point to count off the arms of Vexx out oud with a insulting finger.

    "One, two, three, four.."

He looked around at the fellow Sith that stood near him melodramatically.

    "One for each of us."

Darth Ravenous then grasped a single saber, leaving his other in reserve.

    The Pit..

As the Wookiee Sith-spawn fell past the gaggle of spectators that Valdimar sat with the Tusken shed his robe and dropped into the pit, gaderffii stick at the ready.

“One, two, three, four,” High Lord Ravenous counted off the arms while Valdimar circled around towards the Kaleesh’s back right flank. “One for each of us.” Any expression the young Sith had was hidden behind his mask and he only offered a slight tilt of his head in curiosity. Was Vexx really going to do this? he wondered quietly as he waited for someone else to make the first move.

Serapis mentally reached out to his fellow Sith, opposing this upstart cyborg. Let's make this quick. He's got the best of us here, so it should be easy. He invited them to share their intentions with him to coordinate.

Meanwhile, he examined this General Grievous wannabe. He'd left his robe on the ground at his feet. With a gentle pull of the Force, he wrapped it around Vexx' feet to distract him for a bit. That amused Serapis. He imagined Vexx getting a mouthful of dirt.

"So, Greivance Vexx," he shouted for him, "what makes you want to become spare parts so fast? You think we'll be easier to defeat than... *ahem* Obi-Wan Kenobi?"

Thunderous resisted the urge to laugh, lest Vexx discover what Serapis was up to. Every time the cyborg was tempted to look down, Thunderous moved to distract him. After all, he didn't want Vexx to ruin the fun before it began.

    Grievance Vexx

Despite the mockery trending among his fellow Sith, at the moment Vexx has more respect for Ravenous than he does Serapis, but then, he has always upheld a certain amount of respect for the Sith-spawn Wookiee. They both were once natural warriors; they both have become the things children’s nightmares are made of at the hands of the Sith. They both tend to center themselves in what they were born to be: warriors before all else. At least Ravenous is prepared to meet Vexx with his weapon drawn rather than rely immediately on the Force as is a habit among Sith and Jedi alike that Vexx hates with a passion.

“I am afraid my arms will be most disappointing to you, m’lord,” the cyborg replies to Ravenous with a touch of bitterness in his voice as he adds, “There is no flesh in them, so they would be a useless reward for your efforts.”

He ignites one of his own blades in response to the Wookiee drawing first, but makes no move to attack, his attention shifting momentarily to Serapis as he can feel the Ithorian sizing him up, no doubt making inaccurate judgement calls. The ever-remaining tinnitus in Vexx’s ears lets him know the Force is being used and he braces himself to be ready for just about anything, not letting his resentment for the distant style of combat cloud his focus. He glances down as movement at his feet catches his eye. Vexx quirks a brow behind his mask. This is something he might expect from one of lesser rank and skill, but he refrains from calling it out. After all, it may be one of the other two manipulating his cloak. He will play along and let them have their fun at his expense for a time. They will regret it later. Had they done this before he had acquainted himself with his own power, his fate might already be sealed.

He allows himself to appear distracted, eyes continuously shifting as he tries to keep tabs on Ravenous with his weapon drawn; Serapis with his telekinesis and Dun Möch; Thunderous and his false movements feigning an attack; Valdimir, who would appear to be somewhat neutral at the moment as he moves into a position flanking him from the right. Vexx isn’t fooled. He knows the Tusken will eventually be unable to resist aiding the coming humiliation they are collaborating to create for him. He will attack in one form or another. All the better. This isn’t about revenge anyway. This is about establishing the fact that he is more than just a droid to be mocked and taunted. He is every bit as powerful and cunning as they are and he will not back down until as much has been realized. His eyes narrow upon Serapis and he growls softly as the Ithorian’s four-throated shouting assaults his sensitive hearing.

“Telekinesis and Dun Möch,” he observes, glancing down meaningfully at his cloak, “This is the snowball’s chance you promised me, High Lord Serapis? Mockery and sleight of hand? I suppose you find me unworthy of seeing a display of your greater skill.”

His respirator gives off a low hiss as he inhales slowly, taking a deep breath and allowing his own Force senses run where they may. He is purposely allowing himself to appear vulnerable; maybe even a little foolish. Perhaps they have yet to realize how well acquainted his master has pushed him to become with his power. He has trained long and hard with Draconis; he has not come to this place to become a disappointment.

    Arena...

The Sith spawn waited for an attack from one of the other 3 combatants on his team but there were none, just more insults. There was no honor here... The Kaleesh, or rather, what was left of a Kaleesh had more brass than any one of his teammates. Going against two High Lords toe to toe was a feat, much more with two pawns they could sacrifice to gain an advantage in battle. Deceit was an integral part of the Sith culture, but honor was a bigger part of the Wookiee culture; a warrior's code...

He would end it fast for the Kaleesh, he lit his saber and jaunted in for an attack.

Halfway through the action he stopped and turned back towards his now former team, he had made a decision.

Ravenous swiped his saber backhanded at Serapis...

    Deceit, Betrayal...

He would keep the Kaleesh in his mind in case he would not join. The Sithspawn's unarmed hand held onto his unlit saber on the belt.

When the Sith Spawn jaunted in for his attack the Tusken moved in as well. Using the threatening High Lord’s movement to mask his silent patter across the familiar sand Vladimir raised his unignited weapon for his own attack from behind. As the Wookiee’s attack became a feint, then quickly into a surprising betrayal, Valdimar pressed in while the Kaleesh was distracted by the High Lord’s true intentions. With a thrust aimed center mass the priest acolyte waited to the last second to ignite the lightsaber pike in an attempt to stay silent until the very last moment.

Entering the forsaken grounds of the Rancor Pit

Finding a somewhat secluded portion of the pit, Trevalus casually adjust his goggles as he bounces on the balls of his feet. Holding still was still a chore, and so in situations like these he opted not to, after all a duel was not a place to stand planted like a tree. Which, with another thought he buzzed to himself, tapping a finger in the air as though to emphasize the point to the Padawan that was yet to arrive he began to stretch.

A few lunges and cross arm bars, windmills, and going to point between each lunge seemed to help him find that center, that balance and clarity in the Force so much easier than than holding still ever could.

The young, two meter tall Echani/Thyrsian hybrid walked into the pit, responding to his summons. As he walked towards his master, his long silver hair and red cape flowed behind him and his electrum plated armor glistened in the sunlight that peeked though the open roof of the structure. His cape and armor were in direct contrast with his otherwise greyscale appearance, signifying a much more noble pursuit than what his heritage would have led him towards.

Coming before his master, he made a deep bow and unclipped his saber pike from his back. The weapon was elegant yet simple, plated with electrum in a similar manner to his armor, featuring a blast shield emblazoned with the Colcha family seal, a hold over from the ashes of his past.

"I am here as requested, master."

Making an opening salute without igniting his lightsaber, his extensive training in the Echani Martial arts became apparent to anyone familiar with the art.

"Let us grow the bond between master and apprentice, through my people's chosen form of communication."

He had to nod and buzz softly in approval of his young apprentices chosen weapon, it was unconventional not unlike his own. Pulling out his two elongated lightsabers he hefted them so that his own apprentice could see what he was facing as well. Each was long enough to be used in a limited sense as a baton if extinguished or each on their own wielded with both hands with plenty of comfort and room.

Igniting one green blade and then the blue he saluted his padawan as was customary before responding to the words. "I look forward to it. Though I must warn you, I plan to enjoy this." with a curl of his trunk and a deep sense of mirth he settle back into a stance bouncing on the balls of his feet, sabers held wide in an open invitation.

"Oh trust me master, I'll be enjoying myself as well."

As Kev-Mas made his reply, he took the hint his master was making and ignited his lightsaber, two golden blades coming to life with a snap-hiss

All while this was happening, he was examining his master's movements down to his footwork - no, especially his footwork. By the way he was moving, it was obvious that his style hinged on maximizing his momentum and speed. He would be facing an opponent that was quick on his feet, and Kev-Mas knew the exact way to counter that.

A moment's notice, and he charged at his opponent. He made a feint, and almost as soon as he swung and pulled back his blade he deignited it and channeled the Force aiming a telekinetic burst. It wasn't aimed at his opponent however, but rather towards the ground in a precise angle.

For a similar effect, Kev-Mas could've used the Force to enhance his jumping height. Not very well, however. Enhancement was one of the areas of the Force Kev-Mas struggled with so instead he improvised, making use of alternate abilities used in an unorthodox manner.

The burst pushed back against the ground, and recoiled against Kev-Mas. He launched into the air, his hair and cape rippling in the wind, headed away from his master and encouraging him to give chase. After all, his lightsaber was not currently ignited and he was seemingly floating in mid air defenseless.

    Draconis
    The Pit

From his private suite the Headmaster watched the interesting scene unfolding. Peering from near darkness a slight light, illuminating the suite from its entrance to allow for a modicum of light for the servants to come and go without tripping and disturbing the Headmaster.

A Tuskan, a Sithspawn Wookiee, an Ithorian, and a human male revolved around the cyborg Sith of Vexx looking to tear him limb from mechanical limb.

Vexx. Headstrong, confident, and still learning…

A glass of amber liquid in his right hand which he swirled slightly. A leg propped up on the side of the ornate Ebon Knight chair he sat in. Draconis took in a grape and savoring it for a moment. Chasing the taste with a nip of the amber liquid.

Draconis leaned forward placing the glass down on the side of the large chair. Stretching slightly as he pushed his chest forward, with his arms back. Standing he came to the edge of the open suite. The glass of liquid again in his hands as he leaped forward slightly observing the unfolding action bellow in the Pit.

A long drink and the glass was emptied. Set down on the edge of the suite. Draconis was gone.

Vexx had drawn his four blades in his four-armed configuration.

He recognized them all. Lord Serapis, Vladmir, Darth Thunderous, along with the High Lord Ravenous. All of them formidable. Vladimir pressed center-mass with a lightsaber pike aiming to skewer Vexx. Thunderous did not press but attempted to distract the Kaleesh Warrior.

The Ithorian, Lord Serpais had not made a move yet, but instead participated in Duh Moch and attempted to infuriate the warrior surrounded by them.

Ravenous was the curious one… and while the shadow of Draconis moved silently into the arena further. They would notice. All would notice, because he wanted it as such. No hiding. Just a slow observant stride, taking in the five combatants present.

Noting the hand of Ravenous on his saber, Draconis continued to move forward. Not yet himself moving towards either of his blades. He wore a side scabbard, which cradled his curved blade. A lightsaber attached to his waist.

“What... do we have here?” Draconis spoke addressing the lot of them…

Serapis came to his senses just as the Wookiee's saber came at his throat. He dropped. The saber grazed him just enough to make him feel stupid. He'd completely discounted this no-longer-furry beast. From his position on the ground he rolled away from the Sith-Spawn. Ithorians were never known as acrobats, but he could at least get away to recover his footing.

Getting back to his feet he eyed Ravenous. "What the kriff was that, you stinkpot?!?" He grabbed Vexx' cloak with a Force pull and dropped it around Ravenous' head. Then he lit his lightsaber and waited for some kind of less-than-treasonous reaction.

    The Pit

The cyborg braces himself to deal with punishment from Ravenous; mechanical arms ready to shadow the moves of arms of flesh to lock blades in a clash of offense and defense. There is no fear in the Kaleesh heart beating strong inside durasteel casing; only grim determination. For either way, he wins. Death by the hand of a high lord is a rather prestigious way to go. The underlord and the apprentice? Hell, no. He will fall on his own blade before he will let either of them deliver his death blow.

Just as he readies himself to parry Ravenous’ attack, the Wookiee-turned-Sith spawn about-faces his attack and turns it on the other three. Try as he might, Vexx is helpless to hide his shock. Of course, trust is not readily given. He knows the very two words Ravenous has spoken run deep in the currents of Sith culture. This could be a trap; a ruse to cause him to let down his guard. However, the warrior inside the machine is starved for such camaraderie and the temptation to believe he is truly witnessing it now is very strong.

His guard is quickly raised again, though not because of Ravenous; not because of any of the combatants surrounding him. It is someone else he senses close by; a very familiar presence, unnerving, eerily calm. The signature he senses is none other than his master and this is confirmed as Draconis seems to materialize out of nowhere in the dusty Pit. For a moment, Vexx wonders if his challenge to the high lords had been out of line, thus inciting his master to show up here and make a public spectacle of him. His eyes remain fixed on his foes, but he can see Draconis circling in his peripheral vision.

Serapis narrowly escapes Ravenous turning on him with his blade, but he continues to make use of distant attacks as a defense. Vexx bristles in annoyance, but holds his ground, neither attacking nor antagonizing. Only observing. The apprentice and the underlord are of minimal concern to him at the moment, though that is not to say he is foolish enough to disregard their prowess. He knows better than to underestimate anyone in this arena and he is well aware of Valdimir poised to strike from behind.

He moves swiftly, nevertheless taking a blow from the Tusken that elicits a snarl of annoyance as the plasma pike sears his armored back. He whirls around to bat the weapon away from him then takes to circling in an attempt to reposition so that all of the combatants are in front of him and within immediate view.

His trunk curled even further in his smile at his Padawan's response. It was good, and a much better rejoiner than he had ever given his first Master. The moment of pride and satisfaction was short lived as his Padawan charged, he felt no true danger but reversed his grip on one saber and brought it to bear the brunt of the attack that went as quick as it came, a feint. "Huh." was all he had to buzz as he found empty air where a blade used to be that his blocking blade had reached out to probe for as he dance away in a side step motion to try and put Kev off balance.

Instead of further blade work he felt the inward drawing of the Force, a preparation for an exertion. Planting his feet his blades contracted into a forward defensive position only to see his opponent fly away. "Am I training a frog?" he asked with a buzzing laugh as he bent knee and with a small body enhancing technique to his legs leapt after his floating Padawan. One blade in reserve for defense as the other swung in a bisection arc, if not stopped that blade set for training would still leave the future of this ones lineage in question.

A practitioner of the Echani Martial Arts typically chooses to remain silent during combat, even while their opponent is speaking to them. For them, combat is a language in and of itself, and that by remaining silent they are better able to concentrate on reading their opponents movements, as well as predict their opponents future movements.

So Kev-Mas remained silent, even while his master made comments on his moves, appearing to be too deep in concentration to respond. But in reality, he was reading his opponent, and combining the foresight granted to him by his mastery of Echani Martial Arts with his exceptional skill in Battle Precognition.

His master came after him, just as he predicted. Though he didn't need any precognitive abilities to figure that one out, the added benefit of knowing approximately where the strike would come definitely helped.

A single golden blade came out of one end of his saber pike, aimed right where the Force and intuition had warned Kev-Mas of an attack coming. A saber lock between Master and Padawan occurred as gravity began to pull the pair back to the ground.

Kev-Mas would try to resist both gravity and the saber lock at once, and he aimed yet another Force Push, this time directed towards his master intending to push himself further into the air and his master back down to the ground.

The saber lock, however brief was a moment of joyous entrapment.

The static bite reverberated between Master and Padawan, and when his Padawan delved into the Force once more he decided to make things just alittle more fun.The push that was coming was expected, it was a logical move, whether by foot or by Force to grant space before landing. Otherwise they would end up in one of the dastardly situations where either attacker or defender were as likely to be impaled upon the others or their own blades.

So when the pressured warning of the Force came and danced upon his body he used his second bladed arm to push away from the lock that held the first, twisting away just as the release of Force energy cam and gave his motions that much more energy to spin not merely down, but out and away.

Feet barely touching down he would perform a spinning backflip before throwing one of his saber in a spinning arc towards his Padawans feet. Just because there was room did not mean there was safety.

As his master moved his body and changed his landing trajectory, Kev-Mas' martial instincts foresaw it, and the Force pinpointed it.

"So much for showing off the falling leaf technique I've been practicing" he thought to himself.

As his master threw his extra lightsaber, however the limitations of his technique came into view. The "sixth sense" granted to him by his mastery of Echani Martial Arts could not predict his opponent's moves in rapid succession, meaning that this time it was only battle precognition giving him advance warning, but with much less time for him to react.

The attack took him completely by surprise, and all he could do was furiously bat away the spinning lightsaber with his still ignited blade. If Kev-Mas had gotten around to deigniting the blade like he had planned to do, he would've surely just lost the match.

Additionally, gravity was calling him to the ground and the now unbalanced Padawan was plummeting to the ground. All he could do was disengage the ignition on his lightsaber and tuck and roll, using the Force to cushion his landing the best he could despite his limited skills in enhancement abilities.

With a cacophonous thud, Kev-Mas landed and began tumbling, wincing in pain as he did. He had been through worse before in his hard life in between losing his home and family and becoming a Jedi, but nevertheless it was still a very painful landing. He pressed on, focusing his mind only on achieving victory.

Still tumbling at a high speed, vision obscured by his limbs covering his face, he focused on his master's Force presence, and oriented himself towards it.

Repositioning his body to stand on his knees, he was sent into a skid as he rapidly approached his master. He ignited both golden blades of his lightsaber and swung an attack as he approached, the electrum plated shin plates of his sun guard armor screeching against the arena floor like the retro boosters of a speeder attempting to avoid a collision.

Action, reaction. Rinse, repeat. It was a common theme of battles, whether spanning a solar system, planet, or merely two people in the corner of the Rancor Pit. Everything had an ebb and flow, with a drive pushing both toward inevitably meeting. It was the Force in a microcosm. Light and Dark, forever straddled with a duet about a center that rarely seemed to ever exist.

He was proud to see his Padawan bat away his thrown blade, and with a simple raised arm and drawing back with a step he recalled it. It was not his strength to move things with his mind, and so it was more merely a hard pull on the spinning blade in his direction, which he had to concentrate on catching, feeling the proper moment, his eyes focused on the goal. It left the fall and collapse of his Padawan on the edge of his vision he caught the handle and deactivated the returned blade as he looked to his Padawan. A fall could be a serious thing, especially in heavy armor, and . . .

He soon saw he had nothing to dread beyond his fastly approaching Padawan who had managed to tumble into a suicide death sled maneuver on his screeching shin plates. Perhaps he would later learn it was called the Swooping Shriek Hawk! Or some such. He grinned at it even as he leapt to be clear. To try to catch such a thing would be madness, but to leap to the side with a hard swing batting at the first blades approach hoping to force the single blade to bounce off the attack and give his feet a moment to refind new footing as he reignited his off blade to catch the rebound that the staff offered his Padawan. Then it would be tried to keep up a rapid alternating tempo of probing attacks or defenses to his Padawan's new situation.

This was so he could circle around and try to get his Padawan to overextend from his position on his knees. The back was always the hardest place to protect.

It was now time to finally reveal exactly what lightsaber form Kev-Mas had chosen. He had hinted at it before, but now, as his master leapt out of the way of his attack and attempted to bat away his first blade he revealed what was known to be a textbook example of Form 0: Trakata.

Both Kev-Mas' instincts bred into him from his training in Echani Martial Arts and his precognitive abilities granted to him by the Force warned him of the coming blade. He disengaged his first blade, continuing to move the hilt forward in a new direction pointing towards his master's weapon hand, reigniting it as it cleared the blade lock.

This was also not only an example of his chosen form, but also of what was known as a Flowing Water Cut, because he moved in a manner that was uninterrupted by external forces, much like flowing water.

The move was a risky attack that could very well result in a loss of the duel and had they not been fighting with training sabers, a loss of life for Kev-Mas if it failed.

All he could do now was trust in the Force and his instincts to protect him.

Watching his padawan pull one of the ancient techniques out of the books of lightsaber combat brought great joy and painful tightness of his trunk as he beamed his smile at the young one as his blade met with nothing. Only the Force was his warning, but even with that momentum was his enemy.

Trying to jerk his hand away and not shove his head into the spot was what truly had costed him the chance to avoid being marked in any capacity as his first instincts were to duck and roll. Forward or backward had issues, as did retreat. With soft motion back of body and down of arm the blade of his Padawan grazed his wrist. The sharp jolt, expected as it was caused his hand to open and with a touch of the Force to exaggerate his palm slap on the hilt he propelled his ignited saber out in a downward arc towards his padawan.

It was time to see if his Kev-Mas had prepared for an opponent that when faced with being marked or impaled would choose a marked attack. So he danced back for room cradling his burning wrist and stinging hand to see if his popped forward saber would mark his Padawan in turn.

Kev-Mas grinned as his lightsaber made contact. Then the force called out to him warning him of the coming blade and his grin grew wider.

He aimed the blast shield attached to his saber pike upwards towards the incoming lightsaber, which scratched it slightly as he knocked it away. Like his armor, his blast shield provided limited protection against lightsaber blows. While it wouldn't protect himself against a direct thrust or slash, it would protect him against a glancing blow, such as what happens when he aims his shield at a thrown lightsaber like he just did. As his master's lightsaber was knocked aside by the blast shield, which now bore a glowing slash mark in the middle he reached out with the Force and called it from the air to his off hand.

He then deftly switched the hands holding the two lightsabers, holding his own in his off hand and his master's in his main hand. He de-ignited his own, using it solely as a blast shield and switched on one blade of his master's saber. Advancing towards his opponent in a steady march, he finally opened his mouth to speak after all this time.

"I must thank you for the extra set of blades, master," he said, with a joking yet sincere tone to his voice, "Excellently built weapon by the way."

    General Viewing Area
From the shadows, a figure cloaked entirely in an inconspicuous dark grey robe slinks towards a nearby banister. Down below lay "The Pit", a combat arena open to all whom followed its master's rules. The Pit was currently being occupied by five individuals, all of whom the lone figure found extremely interesting,at least on an intelligence-gathering level. From a deep pocket, the figure produced a datapad, fully intent to record the intricacies of the fight.

The figure, locally known as Azeth Drost, represented nothing more than a blip on anyone's radar. He was far too unimportant in the grand scheme of things to be anything else. This suited the young Miraluka perfectly. It would be much easier to gather data on his new higher-ups if they were too busy fighting each other..

    The Pit

Thunderous knew that Vexx would be a challenge. He seemed to be aware of the locations of his opponents, but that mattered little. Thunderous took advantage of Valdimir's location to move in. Even if he couldn't get in a killing blow, he would force the cyborg to have to deal with him, thus opening up his flanks to attacks from the others.

Thunderous hoped that Serapis and Draconis would respond accordingly. Thunderous raised his weapon and moved to strike.
