OOC: Part of the delay is the eye (ongoing and tiresome), the other part was trying to figure out how to survive without it looking cheesy. :p

Many thanks for the well wishes, initial reports were very positive but tomorrow will either confirm that or send me on a new path........[face_worried]

    Ahem.....

    ~cracks knuckles~

    :-B

    Darth Cruor

His creation was awesome, terrifyingly so. Yet even the demon of living shadow was not enough to combat and defeat so many powerful foes, though some still fought with it and others had fled for safer grounds the strongest of his foes, two Sith Lords and a Jedi Master managed mount a counter offensive.

However their target was not the shadow creature, it was the summoner himself, Darth Cruor.

From on high Darth Arach, newly risen High Lord of the Sith, spewed forth from her mouth a chilling shriek that threatened to crush body and stone alike. With his back to the wall of the Pit there was no escape, his only protection were the shadows that clung to the outer edge of the floor. .

Partially caught in it's wake was Darth Manticore, his being consumed the pain and brought forth from him a great deluge of flame. Behind the wave of fire came the Zabrak's lightsaber, it swept across in a powerful arc that sought to cut the Gen'Dai in twain.

Jedi Master Chetan charged beside the fire breathing Sith, his attack both took advantage of the distraction caused by accompanying attacks as well as complimented and added to the overall threat to the ancient Sith Lord Cruor. The Jedi's blade hammered down from above, but through the Force he sought to pin his adversary to this location.

Deep within his hood Darth Cruor scowled, and in the instant before a violent end his staff intervened. The High Lords Manticore and Arach, and their ally of circumstance, the Jedi Chetan, saw the wall behind where the Gen'Dai stood crumble into rubble before being consumed by the intense heat of Manticore's flame. Small boulders and rocks were made molten and the larger boulders glowed white hot.

A powerful telekinetic wave summoned by the Jedi to hold the Sith Lord in place slammed in the ground sending a deep thud through the Pit, dust filled the arena. With it came a silence, the massive shadow demon behind them began to unravel, almost seeming to melt as if made of black wax.

From the stands, near Draconis, came the sound of a beer being opened. It stood out in the stark silence of the suddenly quiet Pit. Those whose gaze followed the sound saw the Gen'Dai crushing an empty can with the Force before casually discarding it over his shoulder.

"One more game?" The Sith Lord inquired of those still standing, even as he spoke his entire form became shadowy and transparent, finally it dissipated and the wisps of darkness merged into the still melting form of the shadow creature. The now formless mass erupted forth and cast the entire Pit in a darkness of absolute black, the blindness accompanying it was sudden and staggering.

"Find me, if you can." It was only a whisper seeming coming from nowhere, yet everywhere.

It took the well trained warriors in the Pit only a moment, or less, to adjust to their new reality. Though blind they had other senses both natural and otherwise, could they find the Sith Lord and survive the final challenge?

In the darkness Darth Arach felt a chill breeze cross her face, carried upon it a light scent of a freshly opened grave. It came from before where she stood now.

Master Chetan felt a ripple in the Force, behind him and to the right slightly. It was ever so subtle, but it could not be missed to a fully trained Jedi.

The Zabrak felt nothing, but rather saw, in his mind at least. Light flashed before him, reminding him of a flickering light about to die. Silhouetted by that light was the hulking form of his old master, as the light flickered again the silhouette became that of himself as a child in a pit not unlike this one, every time the light flickered the image shifted to another nightmare ripped from his own life.

    IC: Lord Manticore
    Rancor Pit

Lord Cruor was not only powerful. He knew how to wield that power.

The Sith Lord managed far better than he imagined. He did better than survive. He was completely unaffected by the three pronged assault. His Mastery of the darkside and command of the force made it so.

And now, there was only darkness, complete and absolute.

Manticore rasped, his vehemence stoppered inside his chest. His form was wracked with pain from withstanding Darth Arach’s Force Scream.

Pain. His old enemy turned friend. Now he used ‘it’ to fuel the everlasting furnace inside of him.

Inside the pitch darkness he now found himself in, he could sense nothing at first. So, he closed his eyes and reached out with his senses, just in time to see a flashing light, like that of a dying flickering light. Immediately, he recognized the silhouette of his old dead Master, who looked ver much alive.

The zabrak Sith Master snarled fiercely as he tensed up, the fire in his chest flaring up suddenly. This was the original and former core of his seething hate. Though only shadowy remnants remained of his past, its existence was indelible.

    There was another flicker.

There. Another silhouette. It was a small and weak form, easily hurt and manipulated. Trusting and naive. Manticore spat on the floor in disgust.

It was his former, much younger self. A weakling child deserving of death, but finding no release.

He did not wish to see any of this. Ever again.

    Another flicker.

This time, the weak child was in a Beast Pit. Its body covered and bleeding out from a multiplicity of deep lacerations. His hand no longer capable of holding-on to the only weapon he was provided with; a vibro shiv. His anger and misery were impotent, they were nothing in the face of the fearsome Nexu.

His ears even picked up the mocking chortling laughter his master issued in delight every time he failed.

“….Cruor…..” Manticore snarled as his breathing became heavy, rage boiling now.

    Another flicker.

The form of a beauteous and noble female was slumped from both his arms. Her untimely death came through multiple and savage stab wounds. He sobbed over her dead body, not caring that he was covered in her blood. He was broken, much like she had been, save that he yet lived. His Master, he forced him, dominated him with his vile will and power, and made him watch as he controlled him.

It was a lesson in ‘detachment’.

@Lord Anguish was worse than death itself.

    “CRUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!!!!!”

The zabrak roared!! Fire belched from his mouth and blazed from his eyes. The very ground trembled all around him as pillars fell apart, tumbling to the down.

The very fine focus Manticore honed over decades was about to become an uncontrollable conflagration.

Love your post, I'll be replying tonight I think. Seems it is just Cruor and Manticore remaining.

    :D

In the next post I'll not be so god-like with Cruor, I'll bring him back to what we would expect to see in a normal game.....and I very much look forward to the interaction.

    ______________________
Darth Kronos had neared the Acklay he was currently targeting even more, swining his lightsaber sporadically as he did so. The Acklay was moving towards Kronos, ignoring everyone else in the entire arena. He didn't focus on everybody else at the time, though. He had his own problems. This one was clearly trained in these situations. Which was good. It would make for much more of a challenge to him, and, well, anyone that would fight them.
But, despite this, Darth Kronos knew he could easily use his Sith Master powers to crush the Acklay's bones and kill it instantly. It would end the fight much quicker, and reduce any injuries he could get from just using his lightsaber. But, fighting this thing was just too much fun. It was just exhilarating. This Acklay could dodge his attacks. The damn thing was fast.
    But not fast enough.
Kronos swung his lightsaber once again as now he was in front of the creature so he could make a strike against it. And that was what he did. Like with many other people in the arena, he would aim for the legs, which the Acklay dodged. It then made a stabbing motion with the same leg. But instead of dodging the strike, Kronos swung his lightsaber upwards, cutting off that appendage with one blow. The cut off leg plopped to the ground next to him as the Acklay then made a high pitched screech that pierced into his ears. It was clearly angry. In a fit of rage, the Acklay began to stab at wherever it thought there were spots to kill Kronos. Every time, he was able to dodge.
In an unusual move for the beast, it moved its intact leg in an upward way, as if it was trying to kick Kronos in the face. Despite being caught off guard about this, his reflexes were able to carry him as he dodged the attack. Knowing that there was yet another open spot, Kronos cut off the other leg. The screech of pain only got louder.
Now, it only had two legs. The Acklay fell to the ground, shaking its remaining appendages violently. Kronos let out a sinister grin, knowing he had defeated the beast. The fight was becoming boring, anyway.
Darth Kronos rose his blade to stab the Acklay. Seconds passed so he could savor this moment.
Then, he brought down the blade onto the helpless creature, killing it instantly.
Kronos heaved a sigh, shutting off his lightsaber as he would catch his breath. At this moment, he would decide to watch how everyone else was doing.
Darth Arach was doing what Kronos expected her to do: that being taking over the beasts' mind instead of killing it. As soon as he was looking in her direction, she was already making her way onto the creature's back and taking over its mind. Obviously, Kronos had no intrest in doing this. It would be better to just kill the beast and be done with it. Less chance of it turning on you that way.
Both Darth Octavius and Darth Kwea were able to kill their own Acklay's with relative ease. Looks like Kronos got the only one that was trained... or the two Sith Apprentices were just stronger than he was...
    Nah...
Now making his way over to where his former master was, Kronos could overhear a conversation going on between Bellorum and Darth Cruor. Apparently her "granny" gave her the advice of "keeping your friends close and your enemies closer".

Odd. Who knew Sith actually had friends?

He would have pitched in, but before he could, a loud clap shook the arena, causing a thick layer of fog to cover the area. Kronos started to turn in all directions multiple times to see if anything would come out of that fog.

Sure enough, that did happen. Many slow moving creatures that could only be described as the undead walked from the fog. They would make low growls. Undead Wookies, Mandalorians, and even undead Stormtroopers would walk out from the fog. Some of the Stormtroopers even had blasters that they could actually fire! They would shoot at anyone they could see, whether it be Jedi or Sith. One laser bolt had whizzed past Kronos, missing him by an inch. Now, he would reignite his lightsaber, ready for a mch bigger fight.

Unsurprisingly, almost every reaction Kronos saw was the same as his. Semajj Nosrep just stood there in awe, and a hint of rage. "The dead should be put to rest", he muttered to himself. He would then use an impressive use of agility to jump onto the stands and kill two undead Stormtroopers right then and there. An undead Mandalorian would then punch him in the gut.

Letting Semajj do his own thing, Kronos began to focus on everyone else, noticing Arach sitting there on her newly aquired, temporary buddy. The Acklay was clearly bothered by the rotting stench of the dead corpses that filled the arena.

Suddenly, a loud, much more disgusting roar cut through the arena. Turning, Kronos immediately saw what it was, and groaned. And, he was pretty sure Arach had the same reaction too.

    Oh, wonderful!

Kronos had already been severely wounded by a Rancor before (which seemed to have vanished). He didn't want to face a mch more brain dead one. It just wouldn't be very smart. And, Arach would have the problem solved, anyway. Probably. Maybe.

He noticed both Kwea and Octavius taking on the undead Wookies, cutting at their guts and appendages. But that only resorted with more guts spilling out of their bodies. Hopefully they would be able to take out their opponents before more of the undead showed up to kill them and everyone else. Konos began to look directly infront of him, trying to decide whom to help. Everyone seemed to have it under control.

Maybe I'll just go into the -

Suddenly, a Mandalorian punched him right in the face, catching Kronos off guard. Stumbling, he turned around to face his new opponent, seeing that it was the same Mandalorian who punched Semajj. He was now fighting a pair of the undead Stormtroopers. Kronos stepped back, away from the Mandalorian.

The undead Mandalorian, somehow smart enough, was able to pull out a blaster and aim it right at Kronos. The bolt was easilt deflected, as it was sent to a random area in the arena. Kronos then charged at the thing, preparing for a stabbing motion. The undead Mandalorian kept on shooting at Kronos while he did this, and each shot was either dodged or deflected.

Once he reached the undead Mandalorian, he immediately stabbed it, aiming right for its heart. The strike found its mark, and the thing went quiet. Kronos let out a victoy grin, lookng directly into the eyes of his opponent.

Then, the thing sprung to life, growling and waving its arms wildly. Caught off guard again, Kronos removed his lightsaber from its body and kicked it away. Shocked that the heart was not the kill-point of the undead Mandalorian, he was only able to stare at it in awe. The thing that came to his mind would be to cut its head off. So, that's what he decided to do. Kronos once again readied himself, pointing his lightsaber at the undead Mandalorian. Since it was undead, it was neither threatened or confused. It just rose its blaster and fired. Kronos swung his lightsaber more gracefully this time, and blocked the bolts. Each one was sent back to the shooter. Unsurprisingly, none of them killed the thing, but it was a start. Burnt guts spilled from the new wounds that were made.

Kronos charged at the undead Mandalorian, moving his weapon into a defensive position to deflect the blaster bolts that would undoubtedly be sent his way. Sure enough, there were. And each one was deflected.

Now in attacking range, Kronos swung his lightsaber, first aiming for the arm holding the gun. Once that was off, he would then aim for the head. Luckily, the undead Mandalorian wasn't smart enough to duck. The lightsaber cut clean through the Mandalorian, resulting in its head plopping onto the ground.

Kronos sighed, exhausted. But it wasn't over yet. The same growling sounds came from the undead Mandalorian, as the removed head would just try to bite anything it could. In a kneejerk reaction, Kronos thrusted his lightsaber into the Mandalorian's skull. This finally killed it. And now Kronos knew how to kill these things: aim for the head.

He let his lightsaber drop to the ground, as it touched the floor slightly, making a burn mark. Noticing this, he sht off his lightsaber.

Now finally able to catch his breath, Kronos noticed that a Jedi, who he knew was Ananta Chetan, sit on the steps to the arena instead of fighting. He would go onto fight a golden protocol droid that was also somehow undead.

But, before he could really thing about the possibility of that, something even more sinister appeared: some sort of black demon that Kronos did not know the species of. Maybe it wasn't even a known species at all.

"What the hell is that?!" Kronos yelled aloud. This surprised him. Usually, Kronos keeps to himself and doesn't say his thoughts or critiques on something. But, yet, he had just blurted out something. Whether or not anyone heard it, Kronos didn't know. Probably not. He had became invisible to bascially everyone else in the arena.

Before the shadow creature did anything, Kronos noticed the Ananta Jedi and Lord Manticore give each other respectful nods of approval before going their separate ways. It was rather puzzling. Kronos had never seen this anywhere else before. It looks like this place brings Jedi and Sith closer. Well, closer than they are in other places, without laws.

The shadow creature then made its first attack, sending its own appendages at Kwea, Manticore, Ananta, and Semajj. Kronos didn't even stop to see how they fought these serpant-like appendages. Instead, he was entirely focused on the shadow creature, and what it was shooting, which was all black and evil. Through this, Kronos was able to see a pattern. Each tendril could be traced back to one Sith Lord:

    Darth Cruor.

Now Kronos put two-and-two together, realising he was the one who sent the undead creatures on them (which probably explained how they were so smart compared to others that would lurk in the shadows).

He wanted to kill Cruor right now. But, unfortunately, he couldn't. He isn't powerful enough. Despite being filled with rage, Kronos didn't blindly attack the shadow creature. He instead took several steps back, hoping to consentrate and use a Force Attack instead.

He began to remove everything from his mind, going into a sort of blank state, only focusing on the living Force. This was always peaceful to Kronos, as he could block the simple things from his mind. He closed his eyes, hoping to find a way to find a weakness and exploit it.

    Seconds passed with no luck.

Suddenly, a Force Scream shot through the air, piercing through Kronos' ears, and caused him to lose his consentration. His eyes snapped open. He swiftly turned in all directions to see who was doing this, only to find Arach without her Acklay buddy. Which wasn't surprising, Kronos did expect that to happen.

Along with Arach, Manticore aimed a cone of fire from his mouth right at Cruor. Both were clearly annoyed at the Sith causing this, and they clearly wanted to stop it.

To a far side, Kronos noticed Darth Draconis standing there watching the carnage, with no immediate intent on joining the fight. Instead, he would grab a can of alcohol and down it down rather quickly. Kronos made a slight grin.

Hopefully he doesn't get too drunk.

At this point, it seemed almost everyone had found out it was Cruor sending this shadow creature after everyone, including Ananta. Though, surprisingly Semajj did not know this, as he just continued to make a valiant effort to fend off the tendrils attacking him. Despite the fact he could have continued to fight these tendrils, he began to retreat. He motioned to the exit as the appendages followed him. Once he reached the exit, Semajj did another impressive Force Jump, moving to a position where he would be able to fight the tendrils once again. But, instead of doing that, he just sumply Force Pushed them out of the way. Kronos stood there, puzzled.

Why didn't he just do that in the first place?

Semajj, though, was in no mood for a fight anymore. He had walked out, saying one more thing before we ran off: "I had fun, my friends, but I intend to leave the arena with my life, and this thing is a little out of my league".

How unfortunate, Kronos thought. You were one of the more intriguing ones here.

But there was no time to dwell on it any further. The attack on Cruor was becoming too intense. Manticore had just thrown his lightsaber at the Sith, and the shadow creature was beginning to weaken. Cruor was held still by a powerful wave of telekinitic force. It was so powerful that even Kronos could feel it.

The Jedi, Ananta, would add to this strike, using his lightsaber to pin the Sith Lord in place along with the powerful telekinetic force.

Kronos almost decided to help, but he stayed put. There didn't seem to be much need for him. It was all under control.

To prove those thoughts correctly, the shadow creature began to... melt... as if it were some kind of black wax. Odd way for that thing to die...

With that thing finally destroyed, Kronos thought he would have the time to introduce some new creatures into the arena to keep things flowing. But he didn't have the time. Curor wasn't finished with his damn games yet.

    "One more game?"

As if on cue (which it probably was), the entire arena became pitch black, to the point you couldn't see anything with your eyes. He was now wishing he grabbed his helmet from the Medbay. It could aid Kronos to see in the pitch blackness of the arena. But, alas it was still in the Medbay - along with Darth Mallace and Darth Invidious. The two were probably in the Medbay, but it was too dark to see anything. Who knew what the two were doing anyway. Hell, even the Jedi Padawan with the robotic legs was missing from the action.

Sucks for them. They missed all the good fun.

Curor's words shook Kronos from his thoughts: "Find me, if you can".

    Okay... fine. I will.

Kronos tried to focus, hoping to feel any movement from the Sith Lord. But, there was no luck. He couldn't feel anything. He was practically invisible. He hoped to change that soon.

Kronos consentrated once more, trying to move past the pain Arach's Force Scream had caused. He wanted to make a ripple in the Force to get Cruor's attention... or at least someone's. Though, if he could get Cruor's, Kronos might be able to find him and end the game quickly. It was a shot in the dark. Quite literally, too.

His consentration was, once again, broken. Manticore yelled Curor's name loudly, to the point that anyone near the arena could hear it. Pillars and stones wold crumble and fall to the ground, shaking the arena as they did so. With the first few thuds, Kronos was rocky with his footing. However, he became used to the thuds, and was able to secure his footing, and could consentrate once again.

Let's just hope no one interrupts my DAMN consentration this time!

He closed his eyes, focusing only on the living Force. Kronos looked for any movement or ripple in the Force. But, so far, he found nothing.

    Nothing.

    Still nothing.

    There it is! Something!

He reached out to whatever or whoever this was. Kronos didn't know, their identity was being protected by the Force itself. If it was Cruor, he would "enter" in his game and attempt to win. If it wasn't... he would improvise.

Let's just hope that this is Cruor... and that this isn't all one giant mistake.

Darth Kronos stood there, focused on the object, and waited.

It was a good read. :D

    Darth Cruor

“….Cruor…..” Manticore snarled. It was clear his attack was having an impact, though not the one intended, it was accelerant to a flame. Darth Cruor pushed harder, forcing the nightmares to come from even darker moments of the Zabrak's llfe.

The Gen'Dai could feel the raw power bubbling up in the Sith Lord, suddenly unable to contain it any longer he roared “CRUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!!!!!” His very eyes aglow with fiery rage and an inferno spewed forth from his mouth. The pure intensity of the flame burned away the shadows as it swept through them, unable to hold against the assault they began to dissipate.

In the middle of the pit stood Darth Cruor, no longer protected by his shadows. His tattered rags hung on his form, softly flowing as if riding a breeze, and an unworldly cold emanated from his being. In his right hand he held his staff, it seemingly writhed as the shadows coalesced about it, it seemed alive.

In the moments before he was exposed was when Darth Kronos entered the game, in the very instants that the shadows were being burned away by Manticore's fury the young Sith Master had honed his focus on his prey.

His attentions had not gone unnoticed however, the Ancient Sith Lord felt himself being studied, and he knew then that two yet remained to challenge him. He yearned to test each of them in turn, however his desires to test himself pushed him even further. Long had the embrace of death eroded his ability, is he yet worthy enough to command the right to the title of Battle Lord?

There was only one way to know. His eyes cast over the arena noting those seen, and unseen, finally to Draconis...his gaze momentarily lingering on the case of beer nearby.

"A favor my friend, if any dare interfere please kill them."

His attention turned again to the two Sith. One a High Lord of great reputation and ability, unmatched in resolve and passion to his craft, a warrior of legend come alive. The other a Master, newly risen and full of promise, his rise to power thus far swift and welcomed by the Sith Order. The wise would not trifle with either.

Darth Cruor was either very unwise, or completely mad. A low growl emanated from the depths of his hood as he stepped forward towards the pair, he lifted his staff and gripped it tightly in both hands, again he stepped forward....and continued to come. It was here that Darth Cruor lived, only in the intimate embrace of martial combat did the Gen'Dai truly become one with the Dark Side of the Force.

It had been far too long.

    IC: Lord Manticore
    Rancor Pit

The zabrak’s scorching fires roiled and burned away the surrounding shadows, eventually revealing Darth Cruor, the powerful Sith Battlemaster. The Gen’Dai stood stoically as an otherworldly chill emanated from his form, all while he held his shadow shrouded staff in his right hand.

Lord Manticore projected his fury even further, as the fires continued to consume the shadows. In his mind, clarity returned diametrically, as he disintegrated the invading visions, obliterating them with his all-consuming hate.

Darth Kronos, another Sith Master, joined the fray, but had yet to take any action. A wise choice.

Manticore was now back in full possession of his senses, though seething with a fury to rival the power of solar prominences. His will was his own once again, and he would brook no more violations. His former Master had payed the ultimate price for such actions - and the consequences thereof had not changed since then.

Ever the stoic, Darth Cruor bid Darth Draconis to deal with any who dared interfere with his crucible. It was then that he turned to face both Manticore and Kronos. He advanced, weapon in hand. His intentions were quite clear.

Manticore’s fiery eyes flared as he growled in response. The zabrak gathered the force to himself, for both protection and aggression, even as he too moved forward. Then, in a blink of an eye, he rushed toward Darth Cruor.

As soon as he’d entered striking range, Manticore suddenly spun, not only to avoid any possible attack, but he also wielded his saber staff like a spear, as he swung at Darth Cruor’s legs. Still revolving, his weapon continued its deadly arc as it sought to slice the battlemaster at neck level. Near the end of his second turn, a quick palm thrust would blast the Gen’dai with a powerful Force Push.

Each motion seamlessly blended into another, not unlike a dance of death, fluid and lethal in every respect.

Both the Gen’Dai and the Zabrak were deep in their element, that of battle most fierce.

    Darth Cruor
    Rancor Pit

The Zabrak immediately accepted the challenge, first walking forward, then sprinted. It was but a moment, a fraction of such in fact, before he had entered striking range. With a spin so fast it could only be perceived as a blur to the naked eye the blood red saber staff swung low at the legs of the Gen'Dai, the staff was there to block a moment before the strike landed. It mattered not, it was but a distraction, Darth Manticore kept his blades momentum and with the second blade sought the Sith Lord's neck.

As lightsabers do, it cut through the Sith Lord like a laser through nerf butter. The strike did not sever the massive being, but it cut deep and cleanly through horizontally. Darth Cruor had no chance even to express his outrage for the Zabrak freed his hand and unleashed a powerful telekinetic wave at the massive foe. Off balanced by the earlier strike the Gen'Dai was thrown hard across the distance that separated him from the nearest wall.

So hard was the force of impact that much of the newly loosened dust and rubble from Manticore's earlier rage filled the air, slowly the dust cloud spread forth. From within a deep and low laughter echoed across the Pit, and with no other warning the massive black robed figure of the Gen'Dai erupted from that concealing cloud of dust. His robes were opened at the location of the cut, but the once massive wound across his neck and chest was now almost gone and the remaining signs of it mended together before the very eyes of Darth Kronos and Lord Manticore.

Darth Cruor seemingly charged forward intent only on his immediate prey, but his awareness of the battle field allowed his mind to track the other Master present on the floor as well as the drunkard in the stands.....there had better be a few cold ones left for him and his new friends when this was over. Not if, but when Kronos attacked, Darth Cruor would be ready. However, at the moment, he intended to engage the most eager of the two.

Staff in both hands and being swung with the sheer force of strength wielded by the Gen'Dai the staff swung in downward first to the left shoulder of Manticore, then brought the staff quickly back and rotating it came down with all his strength and momentum toward the Zabrak's right shoulder. Defensible? Yes. But it will strike with the force of a rancor, over time it will tire and exhaust a defender.

Throughout the movement the aura of cold that surrounded the Gen'Dai intensified, both combatants on the floor would feel it almost immediately, within moments even Draconis and the others in the stand would begin to feel the effects. The cold continued to drop and would keep doing so as the minutes passed, eventually the body would be forced to stave off the cold and it would further diminish a warriors stamina.

Time, as always, was on the side of the ancient Sith Lord.

    IC: Darth Kronos

Well, it seemed that Kronos go the attention of the right person. Now, Cruor knew he was there. But, he was still focused on Manticore, as the two were having a brawl. Kronos had no idea how to even wedge his way into the fight at all. There was no way to stop it. It would continue until one of them killed the other, or they suddenly decided to stop fighting. All of that, added on top of the fact Cruor told Draconis to kill anyone who would interfere with the fight, made intervening almost impossible.

    Almost.

The fight was still raging, with both opponents taking heavy strikes at each other. It started with the mind attack from Cruor, and it continued with a powerful blow to Cruor's neck from Manticore. Obviously, this only infuriated him even more, causing him to make attacks to Manticore that were as powerful as a Rancor. The Sith Lord would probably defend himself, but eventually he would tire out. Eventually.

Then, Kronos suddenly got an idea. He made his way away from the fight, and seeked a strong blast door that even a lightsaber couldn't penetrate. Kronos reached out with the Force, hoping to get the passcode correct with it. Fortnately, he did, and the door opened, slowly. This one, unlike the Gorog's cell door, did not make a sound, which helped Kronos out a bit.

Monsterous steps could be heard as the Rancor stepped made its appearance once again. It took the Rancor a while to readust to its new environment, but when it did, it would be time to get to work.

Kronos would do what Arach did some time ago. He immediately jumped onto its back, and attempted to calm its mind. Allow it to become his. Surprisingly, this wasn't as hard as Kronos initially thought. It seemed to calm down and begint o obey Kronos' commands rather quickly. Which was, again, another point in his favor.

Apparently he was wrong. This technique would come in handy after all. Who would have guessed?

He commanded the Rancor to move forward, back to the two Sith Lords fighting. The Rancor made a loud sound every time it moved. Kronos hoped that the two were so involved in the fight to prove how tough they are, that they wouldn't notice. That, and he hoped the Rancor would keep the drunk Draconis at bay. But, he might not even know what's going on anymore.

Once he reached the two, he commanded the Rancor to swipe at either one, and it chose Cruor.

It was just a matter of time to see whether or not he would see this coming and defend himself in time.

Uh Oh, The Pit Master may yet come and reclaim his turf! [face_nail_biting]:p

    IC: Lord Manticore
    Rancor Pit

It had taken the Zabrak three swift and deadly moves to knock down the powerful Gen’ Dai. A plume of dust and loose rocks rose at the point of impact, where the Sith Battle Master had landed unceremoniously, but Lord Manticore was not fooled.

His senses did not register the cessation of life, nor the ethereally empathic spikes emitted due to pain or mortal wounds. None of these were present, none at all.

The dust cloud billowed forth, obscuring all sight of the Gen’Dai, though his deep dark laughter could be heard clearly as it echoed through the combat Pit. Manticore’s eyes narrowed to slits. He’d felt his weapon cut deep.

Without warning, Lord Cruor erupted from the dust could, dispelling it in a single wave as he once again became visible. Manticore could see the lethal wound he had inflicted, healing before his very eyes. So rapid was the Gen’Dai’s regenerative powers, that one could claim there had been no wound at all.

    This did not bode well.

Manticore mused that such an ability would be very useful indeed, once he managed to find time to learn it. At the moment, it was a source of deep irritation. The Sith Battle Master, was completely unhurt.

Manticore was simultaneously annoyed and thrilled. This battle would force him to evolve his combat prowess. It would be a hard lesson, should he survive the encounter, but it was a lesson he was all too wiling to partake in. Defeating weaker opponents conferred no honor whatsoever, it was a useless endeavor. Clashing against those stronger and overcoming them —that was truth.

The Stygian Executor smirked as the Battle Master charged him, and swung his mighty staff. Manticore performed an effortless aerial cartwheel, avoiding the strike to his left shoulder, but he had miscalculated. The Battle Master was n equally clever combatant, as he now attacked with greater speed and force.

The zabrak was in the process of landing and effecting a counter attack of his own when he was struck fully on the target shoulder! The zabrak had the foresight to protect himself with a buffering shield before hand, but even that seemed insufficient protection against Cruor's titanic strength.

There was a loud CRAK! as Cruor’s staff burst through Manticore’s shield and dislocated his arm in one blow. The force of the impact was such that it sent the zabrak careening through the air. It was Manticore’s turn to skid through the dirt floor for meters on end, unceremoniously, though he righted himself instantly, ready to fight and quite fortunate to be alive.

Aside from his all consuming fury, not only did Manticore feel intense pain from the blow he’d just sustained, but a sapping cold was also present. Darth Cruor was not only a physical juggernaut, his Mastery of the darkside likely had very few equals.

Still, the zabrak rose to his feet, his left arm dangled uselessly at his side. His eyes still blazed with sustained anger, which he used to good measure.

With his right hand, Manticore stuck his weapon in the dirt, and roared out his rage. He called on his Force Rage then, took his right hand, grasped his left shoulder, and with obvious practiced movements, reset his left arm.

The zabrak’s roar intensified as flames burst from his mouth after the deed. Seething in his Force Rage, Manticore took his weapon anew and spun it with such ferocity and speed, that it sung a dark symphony as it traced red ribbons in the air, but that was just a precursor to an attack.

Swiftly, he spun on his heels and slashed the air in an ‘X’ strike. From his weapon, Two telekinetic slashes shot forth through the air, shredding the ground as they raced forth. Manticore chased right behind them, less than a heartbeat away, lunging forward.

Normally, the attack would cut an enemy in four parts, leaving the head undefended. Perhaps the Gen’Dai’s regeneration could be overwhelmed, just long enough to give him pause.

It was worth a shot, for in truth, there was only one way to find out.

So enraged and focused was he on the Gen’Dai Battle Master, that uncharacteristically, he chose to ignore the Rancor Darth Kronos was riding.

He was very well aware that this was a choice he could possibly come to regret, but the thrill of combat...that could not be denied.
