The re-release of The Phantom Menace next Monday.

Is this The Phantom Menace that has the old puppet Yoda replaced with the CGI one?

 

To my knowledge, yes. I have this ordered, since I didn't get it when it first came out on DVD. Yoda is apparently supposed to be all CGI, and Jabba has been re-textured to look like he does in the DVD of ANH:SE.

Scene-wise, I don't know if anything is new, or being reinserted. I heard that the commentary is new as well...Or possibly altered. Can't remember what I heard.

 

I don't have PM on DVD either, i'm going to wait for the 3 movie box set to come out after ep 3.

DVDs are so expensive here...

How come i have not heard of this re-release....is it for real?

I would like it confirmed somewhere that this is updated though- cant see anything anywhere to say it is.

 

Looks like it's just a reprint of the old DVD, due to increased interest in SW this month.

Virgin website doesn't say anything special about it.

I hate CGI Yoda, he looks so fake.
The puppet looks more realistic

 

Well, this is just what I have heard...Of course, we all know not to believe rumours until you actually see the thing in action...That said, I have seen the spruced up Jabba in a photo from TPM, so I will reserve judgement until to comes through my mailbox.

That said, I know that it is only on a limited release, like the OT DVD's and will be discontinued around xmas time.

We will see (hopefully!).
