PROLOUGE: The singer


The first time I let my voice flow from my body, I knew that this was it. I WAS a singer, and nobody was going to stop me. Not my mom, not my dad. It was all me, baby. I also learned how to play a strange instrument, called a guitar. This guitar was my best friend when I was 16 and it happened. The summer that I met Obi-Wan Kenobi. And he loved me. Someone like that actually loved ME. Me, Lin Yazaka. Of all people. But, that was also the summer that I became famous. My dream had come true. I named this summer "The summer of tears", and I'll tell the truth on why. Everyone thought that I was my same happy self. But inside, I was being eaten alive. I was being destroyed.




Shortest post ever, I know. But I promise that I'll bring the first chapter sooner!!

Chapter 1: First Impressions


It was a great day at the Temple. I was tired, being up all night studying, so I decided to go outside and watch the world go by (I sound like an old man saying it like that). I leaned against a wall and slid down into a sitting position.
"Hey." said a girl with black hair and one blue eye and one red one.
"Um, h-hi." I said, never coming across a more beautiful woman. Yet she was strange looking at the same time.
"How's it goin' with you?" she asked, sitting down beside me and chewing a blade of grass.
"Fine. You?"
"Meh. Got a new set of bruises, so I can't say it's good."
"That's horrible!" I decided that now would be a good time to introduce myself. "I'm Obi-Wan Kenobi." I said.
"Lin Yazaka. Nice to meet ya."
"Same here."
"Great day, huh, Kenobi?"
"Yeah. I love days like this."
"Sure as hell beats staying at home."
"Huh?"
"I come in 10 minutes late from work, and my old man pounds me. That ass."
"That's not right, Lin."
"Well, what the hell can I do? I know you Jedi think that there's good in everyone, but not my dad."
"I'm only a Padawan. And I think that only my master believes that."
"Hey, man. Don't take offense."
"I'm not!"
"You are too and don't try to hide it."
"Alright fine." I threw my hands up in frustration.
"I thought that life was fun and games
But I opened up my eyes
The world is big and dark and gray
And there ain't nowhere to hide..." Lin sang.
"You sing beautifully."
"Thanks. I wrote that song myself. I got a book full of 'em, and I wrote 'em all."
"That's great."
"I gotta go now. See ya, Obi-Wan."
"Bye Lin. Are you coming back?"
"Dunno. I'm like a rolling stone, might come, might not."
She walked away, leaving footprints of her bare feet.
