Ok, I stole this from a thread on the YJCC, but only so that the Newbies could see it without having to step into that cesspit of evil.

So, here is the definitions of the words and abbreviations we use.
    Original List by TheBoogieMan.

If you somehow take offense to any of these, please re-read; prefereably in the company of someone with a sense of humour. Also sincere apologys to Ambrose Beirce.

+1: The most honest phrase on the JC. At last count the JC had roughly 14,000,000 +1?s.

AC: Abbrev, Advisory Council; started all the way back on UBB, the term ?advisory? was loosely applied to the JC counter-part. In the JC, ?advisory? required that the council simply ?advise? the users on what they had been ?advising? on, but not much else.

Administrator: one who administers their administration on to poor unsuspecting users.

AFAIK: Abbrev, As far as I know. The user?s get-out-of-jail-free card. Only to be used when making wild claims with no basis.

AIM: and fire. Generally at Newbies.

April Fools Jokes: A day marked on every Oldbie?s calendar for the highly vocal remembrance of better April Fools Jokes gone past.

Archive: A forum containing threads that make themselves agreeable to the administration?s palette; an established way for members of the administration to ?frame and hang-up? rare pieces of praise.

Banning: The South African government during apartheid used to ban individuals that questioned their legitimacy. By contrast, in the JC it is widely accepted that a banned user is one who is deemed illegitimate.

Bashers: Sensible users who have taken to assuming all movies are bad until viewing. Generally the only users avoiding disappointment.

Big Brother Game: A game that was adapted from the television series for the JC. Unfortunately it lacked everything that made the TV version interesting ? sex, nudity and interesting contestants.

    Bitter ex-mod: See Farraday.

Blue Yoda Society, The: This organization revolves around three ideals: its own persecution; the distortion of the ideas of its originators; and a fierce program of indoctrination. Alas, it has discovered the secret to mass religion.

Board: A state of mind. Generally found in ModSquad updates.

BTW: Abbrev. By the way. In passing. Commonly the only intelligent remark in a thread.

Canon: In history, used to destroy castles, ships and enemy morale. Currently only required to destroy legitimacy and credibility of its authors.

Census: The JC equivalent of a telemarketer. Thankfully it has the dignity not to interrupt during dinnertime.

    Chat thread: See JCC

City Reps: Members of the board required to represent entire Cities ? in practice they are found only to represent themselves. The social butterflies of the FF.

Colors: The best argument against claims of moderators? high intelligence.

Communications: The ironic title for a forum where communicating is furthest from anyone?s mind.

    Communications Admin: Minister for Propaganda.

Deleted Post: An opinion removed from history.

    Deleted Thread: See Newbie.

Drama: ?Please, oh, please, won?t somebody think of the children?!?!?!?

Election Game: See Florida, Presidential Elections, Vote Rigging and Darth Sapient.

EU: Abbrev. The Expendable Universe. Named as such after its ability to change and mould itself after its contradictions.

Fan Fic: The only place that George Lucas doesn?t steal his scripts from. Fans suspect there is a good reason for this.

Fan fic author: see Midlife crisis. One who finds his calling as a sci-fi writer when a middle-aged accountant.

FF: Abbrev. Fan Force. Members of TF.N who have a life insofar as meeting other members of TF.N goes.

Flaming: The art of setting alight another user?s sensibilities.

Focus Groups: Groups of users hand-picked to reflect the administration?s point of view.

Forum: In ancient Greece, an arena where everyone?s opinions are heard. In the modern day, Internet devices on which no-one?s opinions are heard.

GL: Abbrev. George Lucas. The fla
