Sidious did not want them to know that he was Plapatine and he did not want a Stronger rebellion.

Palpatine/Sideous was the Republic and he Was the Separatists. He killed them because he no longer needs them ,and Dead men tell no tales.

DUGGY is right. Palpatine was the Republic, and Sidious was the Seperatists. Once the Empire was created, he no longer needed systems against the Republic/Empire.

The truth is, Sidious met with the Separatist Council for a quick game of poker after the Battle of Coruscant. That's why he originally contacted them (Grievous got to the phone first), and that's why it took so long to get them to Mustafar.

The real reason he had them all murdered? Sidious sucks at poker.

Palpatine also took control of the organizations and used them in the construction of the Death Stars. Besides, they were all loose ends. He couldn't trust them not to keep their mouths shut.

I like how Dark Lord expands on this like how no one knows what happened to the Sepratists they just vanished and how all there droids are scattered motionless throughout the galaxy.

He's giving Anakin his chance at revenge. Anakin was always pretty angry at the Separatist leaders, but being a Jedi meant that he wasn't supposed to give in to hate. After turning to the dark side though, that changed.

That's a good idea, but flawed. I wasn't sure if the Separatist leaders knew Palpatine was Sidious. I'd think Palpatine would keep his duo identity a secret, save it should leak out. I doubt the dumb Separatists knew Dooku was playing both sides as well.

I remember Dooku saying in Episode 2 Gunray came to him because Sidious betrayed the Federation in Epiosde 1. But then, why would Grievous answer a phone call from Sidious. Dooku must've been full of **** in Episode 2.

Yeah, I'm certain the Separatists knew Palpatine was orchestating everything to kill the Jedi off slowly in the Clone Wars. But it's still crap: I reckon Sidious should NOT have called Grievous, that scene. Totally unnecessary. The Federation should've deserted Sidious for real.

But that contradicts why all the corrupt polictions helped Palpatine in the vote of no confidence in Episode 1.

So yeah, Palpatine told the Separatists he was a Sith, which means Grievous knew Palpatine was Sidious when he captured him (with Anakin and Obi-Wan) aboard the 'Invisible Hand'.

So in conclusion, why the hell did Grievous smash the windscreen to escape knowing it might kill Palpatine? What an idiot.

First off Plapatine didn't have the Separatist killed, Sidious did:)
Sidious had the Separatists killed for the same reason the dissolved the Imperial Senate at the start of Episode IV, to consolidate his power. The act of killing them was least challenging that he did in ROTS. A droid delivering a victory package / large bomb would have been as equally effective.

lol I still say it's about Anakin and his revenge. Sidious had complete control over the Separatists, even more so than he did the Republic. The Nemoidians were so terrified of him in TPM that they wouldn't even mention his existence while under interrogation. So if Sidious really wanted to, he could have just combined the droid army with his clones.

    So why have them killed?
    a) He probably never liked them to begin with
    b) He knows Anakin hates the Separatist leaders and gives him his revenge as a "reward"

The Sep. leaders were no longer useful to Sidious. Their purpose was over, just like Dooku's. Their entire purpose was to destroy the Republic. Alive the Sep leaders could have revealed that the war was begun by a Sith.

They were tools, just as Dooku was a tool.

Sidious all the time had a 3 long term objectives in mind.

    1 Destroy the Jedi
2 Bring down the Republic, create the Empire.
3 Win Skywalker over to the Dark Side.

Winning Skywalker over to the Dark side helped Sids to accomplish goals 1 & 2.

He no longer needed his tools and so his new Apprentice destroyed them.

    Hmm...

In TPM Sid's says to the TF "I have the senate bogged down in precedures"

So TF knows that Sid's is in the senate, obviously they do not know that he was elected chancellor or that he moved the senate towards taxation of traderoutes (eu).

In AOTC, Dooku is completely full of bologne save for that one stinging piece of truth. The Separatists and TF are dealing with the same sith and they know it.

In ROTS, Nute Gunray says to GG "....Chancellor Palpatine was able to escape your grip general"

Obviously the TF despises Palpatine as does General Grievous.

When Sids no longer needs a war to get the powers he's given himself, he eliminates the TF in the best way possible. By letting Darth Vader feel like he's bringing justice to the galaxy.

Thats one side benefit. He also needed the resources used for the war for other puposes, ie hunting down the rest of the Jedi and building the Death Star. Hmmm, maybe some droids were melted down for Death Star metal. :D

That explains on how it was so cheap,:p

He wanted Anakin(Vader) to have the feeling that he was in control of something before he had slapped on the leash of slavery to him.

Actually, the Separatist Council would be a threat, should they choose to get greedy and try something underhanded. Best to cut them off at the knees.

I thought the Seperatists would be a much bigger threat to Sidious because they might tell everyone in the Senate that the entire Clone Wars was set up by their favorite Supreme Chancellor to establish more power for himself and that the Seperatists had conspired with him to make it happen. Sidious would not risk having the Republic knowing the truth about him because he knows that it would mean the end of everything for him meaning that he'll be thrown out of office and lose all the power he had spent 13 years trying to achieve.

To prevent that from happening, PalpSidious sent Anakin to kill the Seperatists.

Why would the Separatists tell anybody about Palpatine? They were so relieved just to get through the Clone Wars with their skins intact. From their point of view, they had the most to gain from the conflict...until Vader entered the scene anyway.

Relieved? They were getting their butts kicked throughout the 3 year gap between AOTC and ROTS and if Dooku is right, the Seps will believe that Sidious will betray them again somehow...someway so they are going to think about going to the Senate and reveal the truth about the Supreme Chancellor just in case it happens.

Of course, we all know that they won't get the chance to tell anyone.

He had them killed because he lied to them.
They had sworn their alliegance to the Sith on the premise that they were getting a slice of the pie.
The pie was all for Palpatine - he is totally motivated by greed. He had no share of the galaxy to offer them, it was all for himself.

Alive, they are just a pain in the neck.
Dead, Palpatine absorbs all of their respective organisations into his Empire.

I can see no benefits in leaving them alive; the benefits for him having them killed, however, are numerous...

Killing the Separatists formally ends the war and solidifies Anakin and Palpatine as the two leaders who finally did the job the Jedi could not. It allows Anakin to easily and fully tap into his new found rage and power in a remote location where no one could ever learn the truth.
