Hello everyone! If you are a fan of roleplaying, I’m going to introduce a game that involves RP, mystery, and LEGOs! You may have played similar games like this one I’m about to show you before, or this may be entirely new. This type of game is called “Ambush Games”.

Alright, with that in mind, you may wonder why this thread is titled “The Renegade Jedi”. This is the name of the Ambush Game I will be hosting for a group of you. In this game, you can choose a character (for this one it is Jedi) to RP as with other players. Only, unlike some RPing ideas where you just interact with one another, there is a goal in this one. Among the Jedi (players), there are traitors, and it’s up to those playing to find and get rid of them. Once all the traitors are found and if you survive to the end, you win. However, if the traitors (aka scum) outnumber the good players – or “loyals” – then the scum shall win.

In this game, there are “days” and “nights”. During the “day” is when everyone can RP and discuss with one another. During the “night” is when you’re sleeping and wait for the next day to come (so you don’t post during this part of the game). These game days do not match up to a normal day; they can last a couple real days if necessary. Some players will also have roles to take on besides just RPing while trying to find the scum. These roles are “powers” in a sense that give a player a special ability that helps their team.

    OFFICIAL RULES:
RULE 1: No Cheating! Cheating easily ruins the game and it could gain one team a very unfair advantage. Cheating mainly involves looking at another player's guide that's not yours or revealing something you should not. There's no exception to this rule. Violating this rule could result in being kicked from the game.
RULE 2: Play by the rules! Do NOT defy the host at all. You may reason with them if you have a problem, but insults and complaining to them will just break this rule. It's also good to play the game by their rules, which vary from host to host.
RULE 3: Dead players are dead! They may NOT pass information to other players after they're dead. Posts such as "Good game everyone! It's fun to watch" are okay to post, but NO dead players may post about the gameplay.
Scum can NOT help their fellow Scum members in the Scum Base once they are dead.
RULE 4: Non-players may NOT post about gameplay and specifics about the game! If you're not playing a game and just watching, you may post all you want about it, but you may NOT post on the thread about gameplay specifics and everyone's roles. This rule is similar to Rule 3.
RULE 5: When you are speaking "Out of Character" please use "OOC" in front of your sentence. Example: "OOC: I need to do something now" OOC Comments have nothing to do with the game and roleplay itself. When you're going back "In Character" please use "IC" Example "IC: Who is the last scum?" It's best to use IC only once and use OOC constantly when you are out of character.
RULE 6: Never use OOC to make up stuff to try to prove you're not scum. Example: "OOC: I'm not scum! See, it's OOC. So it has to be true." Doing this is unfair and should never be used. And do not lie in OOC.
RULE 7: No intense swearing, specifically in OOC. This also includes personal attacks that would offend a player. These are just games, and you shouldn't overreact to anything that's just in a game. If you do this, it can go way too far.

    HOW THE GAMES WORK:
Basic Concept of The Ambush Games:
Within a group of players, there is a small group of scum. There are usually 3-5 scum for every game. The Loyalists' (good guys) goal is to eliminate all of the Scum (bad guys). The Scum's role is to outnumber the Loyalists. You will discuss for a certain amount of time about who to vote off and then vote. Players vote for who they find the most suspicious. The player with the most votes, or the required number of votes, will be voted off. After that, you send in your night actions. Not every player has a night action. Your night action depends on your role, and every player gets a role. After the night's finished, the morning begins. Players could have been killed or inspected during the night because of the night actions. This cycle continues every day until one of the two teams wins.

Beginning of the Game: Before the official beginning of the current game, the person who is hosting will ask you to select a character from a list of characters. You will role-play this character to the end of the game, or until your character is voted off or killed. Once the pregame signups are completed and the game can begin, the host will send you a private message telling you your role and abilities in the game.
You will also be given any other facts the host wants only you to know. If you are a Scum (minority) character, you will be added into a Scum base, another Private Message that includes the host and your allies. Throughout the game, your Private Message is where you may post any questions you have for the host. However, most of your gameplay will take place in the game threads, rather than your private message.
Once the game itself begins, the host will post links to a series of pictures with captions explaining the story. This is when the host character for the particular game you are playing will be introduced. The introduction usually ends with the host character telling the players to begin discussion.

Discussion and Voting: Once the Host opens discussion, introduce your character to some of the other players. You can talk about your background or your motivations. Make sure to act like a Loyal, even if you are really Scum! Players generally do not reveal if they have a Night Action unless they feel it will benefit them. There are two kinds of talking on the Game thread comments, IC (In Character) and OOC (Out of Character). Try to keep most OOC discussion on your personal page or another thread for game discussion. The discussion phase of each day is the best time to enjoy role-playing. During this time, you must also question your fellow players to find out which ones could be scum.
At some point, the host will announce that voting is now open. Keep talking with the other players. Once you know who you want to vote for, cast your vote in all CAPITAL letters, first the name of the character you are voting for followed by the name of the player controlling said character, with the player’s name in parentheses. For example, if someone called Siblings was controlling the character of Obi-wan Kenobi, and you wanted to vote for them, you would comment VOTE: OBI-WAN KENOBI (SIBLINGS). Once a vote has been cast, it is usually irrevocable, so think things through before casting your vote. Whoever has the most votes at the end of voting will be convicted.
After all the votes have been cast, the Host will post a new set of pictures showing what happened at the end of the day. At this time, if a person was voted off, they will be arrested or killed. However, you will not discover their allegiance until the start of the next game day. Every day of the game will follow the pattern of discussion and voting explained above.

Night Actions: Once the day is over, the game thread is usually locked and you may not post until the morning. But, as stated earlier, some players have roles that they can use at night. For example, the Inspector can inspect people to find out whether they're Scum or Loyal. In order to send your night action in, you simply go to your assigned guide that you got at the beginning of the game and tell the host what you would like to do. Most of the time, once you've sent in you night action you can't take it back and it's official. The time to send in your night actions usually lasts 24 hours max, but it can sometimes end earlier. After the time to send in night actions is up, the host will begin the new day. They will post pictures of what happened in the night (if someone was murdered that would be shown, for example) and then post morning pictures, revealing the arrested and dead player's affiliations. The next day, the host opens a new game thread for players to use.

Winning: Each team, the loyalists and scum, have different win conditions. The loyalists win once all of the scum have been eliminated. After the last scum has been voted off, the conclusion to the game will be posted and the loyalists will have won. If the scum outnumber the loyalists, then they win and the remaining loyalists are killed off in the conclusion. If, for example, there are three players left, one being scum and the other two being loyalists, the scum must get one of the loyalists to vote off the other. If it comes down to one loyalist and one scum like this, then the win would go to the scum.
There are also not always scum and loyalists, though. In some games, there are Third Parties. A Third Party is neutral and does not side with the scum or the loyalists and usually has their own motives to win. Third Parties vary from game to game and are often kept secret.
After the winners have been announced and the conclusion has been posted, all players may discuss the game and look at each other's guides.

    ROLES:
Inspector (Loyal): The Inspector is an important role used in the Ambush Games. It is a very important role for the Loyalists. For their night action, the Inspector may choose to inspect one player to find out their affliction. They will not know the players exact role, but they will know if they're loyal or scum. But they must be cautious; the Scum Leader can protect one member of the scum team from coming up scum.
Protector (Loyal): The Protector is a very important role used in the Ambush games. If you're the protector your night action will be to protect one person from murder. If the Murderer tries to kill the person the Protector protects, then the murder attempt will fail. Since the Protector doesn't know who's on his side, he could always protect a member of the scum without knowing.
Helper (Loyal): The Loyal Helper is, along with Scum Henchman, the most basic role in the Ambush Games. For this role you are a loyalist. You have no night action, you simply vote and discuss in the day threads and wait through the night.
Scum Leader (Scum): The Scum Leader is a scum role used in the Ambush Games. The Scum Leader is the leader of the scum and can protect one of the scum members (including themselves) each night. This can sometimes fool the Inspector.
Murderer (Scum): The Murderer is a very important role used in the Ambush games. If you're the Murderer, your night action is to attempt to murder one loyalist every night. This could fail though, as the Protector role allows one loyalist to be protected from murder each night. If the Murderer tries to kill a protected loyalist, the murder will fail.
Henchman (Scum): The Scum Henchman is, along with the Loyal Helper, the most basic role in the Ambush Games. If you have this role then you are scum. You have no night action, you just wait through the nights. You do, on the other hand, get to vote and discuss in the day threads just like everyone else does.

If you decide to play, here is a list of characters for the game (it takes place during The Clone Wars TV show):

    Obi-Wan Kenobi
    Anakin Skywalker
    Ahsoka Tano
    Mace Windu
    Kit Fisto
    Pong Krell
    Plo Koon
    Saesee Tiin
    Ki-Adi Mundi
    Even Piell
    Aayla Secura
    Luminara Unduli
    Barriss Offee

If you want to play, you may choose a character. It’ll be based on first come, first serve. Also, there will be a story that goes along with this game told through some pictures with text on one of my Flickr accounts. It won’t be a lot to read, since I’m making this story really simple, but you’ll need to look at them if you play. It will be told through LEGOs as well.

If you have any questions, please let me know. There will also be some other users that I know from playing Ambush Games with before that will help me answer any of your questions or explain things too. I hope you decide to play and have fun! :)

Is anyone else interested? It doesn't matter if you're new to RPing or you've done it a lot before. Any players are welcome! I need at least 7 players before I can begin this.
