My favorite Yoda is a puppet Yoda but yeah, that TPM puppet is not as good as the cgi.
I saw that anime version of Metropolis which is based on a Tezuka manga adaptation of Lang's film. And I read the manga and saw the movie for Alita too. Their have been english translations of those for a long time now. And Cameron's been trying to make a version of Alita for a long time. I had figured when Avatar came out that he had seen Princess Mononoke and shifted his anime obsession to that.

I was just now tempted to post a gif of Anakin in bed having nightmares, but then succumbed to my better judgement.

Oh you know how I feel about OT Yoda, Frank. TPM puppet is actually ok all in all; it was just a bit of a shock since I hadn't watched the DVD in a while.

Ah, ROTS. Now this is a good looking Blu-ray. I have no issues with it, plus it's clearly the best looking movie out of the original six movie in their current released forms.

With the prequels out of the way, what do I think? Their is clear room for improvement in terms of writing, acting, pacing. However, their still hell of good movies and I will never stop loving them. I'm just at the point now that when I view a movie, I have to be completely honest. So yes, the prequels do have their issues, but they're still well made overall.

    STAR WARS Marathon (2017 Edition)
    (12/08/17) - THE PHANTOM MENACE - B
    (12/09/17) - ATTACK OF THE CLONES - B-
    (12/10/17) - REVENGE OF THE SITH - B+
    (12/11/17) - ROGUE ONE
    (12/12/17) - A NEW HOPE
(12/13/17) - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
(12/14/17) - RETURN OF THE JEDI

Odds are against it. I'm just hoping we don't get another Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets: ambitious in sci-fi/fantasy world-building, limp in story and characters. But Cameron is never so frivolous in story, and even I say that as someone who was "meh" with Avatar. In truth, though, it's Rodriguez at the helm that has me perked. He's long since been his own unique version of George Lucas, tinkering around with digital filmmaking eccentricity under his own Troublemaker Studios control. But now he's stepping up to Cameron's mega-budget level with Lightstorm; this by far being his biggest directing gig in terms of scope. It's not difficult to see how this movie might not work as a whole but I still find refreshing just how sincere and committed it comes across as an unapologetic indulgence in snark-free science fiction romance.

But if we're gonna judge directors on the merit of movies they've made before (like we did with Colin Trevorrow), then I don't know about Robert Rodriguez. He's responsible for Sharkboy and Lavagirl. People think Jake Lloyd as Anakin was bad child acting? They clearly have not seen this film.

Those movies are not only for kids but are meant to be more so "cheese romps" than anything. Spy Kids just had the luxury of more professional actors and a bigger budget.

Shark Boy and Lava Girl is just innocent child acting from my perspective.

From what I understand(I've read a bit of Valerian) the original material wasn't so large on characters or story either and the movie...Well. It's essentially a French movie and it's Luc Benson(I assume the difference in a cultures way of filmmaking can make it or break it when brought over to the west). The Fifth Element was actually criticized and described as such, yet it for some reason became a cult classic later on, if I'm not mistaken. Not sure how credible that is but I haven't seen it, only caught some scenes.

Seems to be a general consensus that is entails "meh-ness".

    Good morning everyone. :)

I don't like big crowds either. This is the first time I pre ordered tickets. I wont lie I'm a little nervous but I'm hoping my excitement to see TLJ will overwhelm that.

Watching ANH right now in my marathon. [face_dancing]

Luckily where I live big crowds won't be an issue, especially on a Thursday night. Plus I'll be going with people, which helps a lot.

Also I was in the middle of ANH while doing some homework, but I fell asleep accidentally as I haven't slept in like 2 days. (Only 2 more days left until I'm done though :_|[face_dancing] )

The battle of Scarif is so awesome. Probably the second best SW battle scene after Geonosis. The space part of the battle is just so well shot.

REAL talk. They're probably the battle/final fight climaxes of the saga. (I won't count Episode III since the final fight was between 4 people)

Darker, cynical and dreary is what I'm feeling with TLJ. Sigh...

ESB was a mistake. I sometimes wish that movie was lower than ROTJ.
