Update: No foreseeable plans for an extended cut of Justice League DVD/Blu ray release. Way to go, Warner Bros. Idiots.

 

I am for sure not buying the theatrical cut, so I guess I won't be buying JL at all. I didn't even like it back in November so I guess that's money saved for me.

 

You guys know there was never a Snyder cut, right? Cuz Snyder left before any cut of the film. There is no Snyder cut.

I'm as big of a fan of Snyder as almost anyone but this Snyder cut stuff is total BS and a total waste of breath and time to complain about. I understand people might be disappointed they didn't get a fully Snyder film with JL. These stupid petitions and blame games are not gonna get anyone what they want.

 

Oh no, there is a "Snyder" cut in terms of of a cut nearing completion but wasn't finished due to Snyder stepping down and Whedon coming in to do the reshoots. But, even I don't call that cut in the name of Snyder because, well, it wasn't finished. It would be like calling the assembly cut of Alien 3 the "Fincher" cut. It simply isn't.

Still, I would like to see the incomplete cut of JL because it sounds far better than what we were given. But even then, due to the troubled production of JL I doubt it would have been all that great anyways. With Geoff Johns doing daily script rewrites and Jon Berg strong-arming Snyder, I just don't think Snyder had the freedom he deserved to make good film.

 

There seems to be some confusion on this. Snyder left before post production was complete, not necessarily before completing a workable print. Whedon was initially only brought in for post and some pickups, before the execs then decided to seize his involvement for further alteration. Either way, the version Snyder left on the table before stepping down was roughly three hours -- extended sequences with Cyborg's backstory, Aquaman in Atlantis, Steppenwolf's motivations (including Darkseid) and a longer, re-ordered flashback battle between he and ancient Earth, Lex escaping prison and a more complete version of Clark visiting home -- which was then cut down drastically and fused with Whedon's reshoots to fill-out a two-hour something else. Even if they needed to keep some of Whedon's material in order to avoid certain continuity jumps, the point of contention chiefly concerns that which was omitted from Snyder's principle photography.
