The return of Lapti Nek

Since the new TV show will revolve around Boba Fett and bounty hunters, no doubt Jabba's Palace will make a return. Does anyone else hope the song Lapti Nek returns? It was the original dance number in Return of the Jedi after the droid dungeon scene, but was replaced by the song Jedi Rocks when the scene was expanded and revised for the special editions.

I always loved that song, and hope it comes back.

Knowing Lucas, well probably get a rap re-mix of Jedi rocks.

Or the latest popular boy-band singing about Banthas or something.

 

someday, somehow, i am going to insert the lapti nek song back into my dvd version of ROTJ. that song was cool and the acting of the band was just right for the scene.

'jedi rocks' took rotj, buried it upside down, then pissed on its grave in my opinion.

Both of them sucked. Original, SE, DVD; no matter how you slice it, the musical number in ROTJ was the most painful part.

 

I like 'Lapti Nek'. I think it's much catchier than 'Jedi Rocks'.

 

Lapti Nek was masterpiece (I still have it in audio), Jedi Rocks - a blasphemy and something very out of the place - even the titles apparently differ in quality. I am usually rather indulgent according GL's following changes, but this one remains unforgivable for me.

 

Agreed. "Lapti Nek" sounded like it was from some other universe, while "Jedi Rocks" just sounds like some rhythm & blues number sung in an alien language, as performed by crap CG aliens.

Perhaps when GL has an idea for a new scene, the underlying thought should be "Does this fit the overall story, the universe, and its characters?" as opposed to "I think it would be FUN."
