Are you sure Spielberg's involved? IMDB doesn't list him anywhere. . .

you might be thinking of Smash.

 

Wikipedia mentions Spielberg too. IMDB must just be out of the loop.

Anyway. I like Bruce Greenwood so I probably will check this out.

 

It's a poor man's Lost.

Lost slowly built up to a conclusion of magic causing all of the strange events, while The River uses that explanation episode one. I don't really see where it can go from here...
