Welcome to the RPF Community Council Thread!

As part of the forum reform effort, we now have (thanks to Protege-of-Thrawn's wonderful suggestion) an RPF Council to assist in all and sundry forum business. The council consists of 18 members serving a six-month term. For breadth and depth in user representation, the Council is made up of:

8 members with user registration dates of 2003 or earlier
6 members with user registration dates during 2004
4 member with user registration dates during 2005

At the end of 2006, we will reevaluate these categories to make room for the 06ers. However, it should be noted that these categories are merely for selection purposes. Every council member is considered equal in this thread.

Participation in this thread is not limited to Council members. Please feel free to post your thoughts on the current discussion (but remember to keep things business-oriented. We have a social thread for all the funny stuff).

This post will be edited to reflect future developments as the Council gets off the ground. Expect some lists of committees and other useful, relevant information to appear within the coming weeks.

For reference purposes, the code of conduct that these members agreed to when accepting the invitation is as follows:

By accepting a place on the Council, you are agreeing to participate in discussions and other assigned duties as appropriate. I ask that you be willing to truly devote yourself to this endeavor (this means spending approx. 1-2 hours/week checking the council thread and contributing opinions). The term will last for a period of six months, during which you should maintain a significant level of commitment in the forum. This may mean playing one game or many, as long as you are a visible, well-respected member of the community. Should you be unable to serve out the term, please give adequate notice so that we can appoint a successor. Please note that you will forfeit your spot on the Council if you are ever absent for a period of two (2) weeks without prior public notice.

And with that, I am please to announce that this first incarnation of the RPF Community Council is now open!

 

I'd like to keep this low-key for about a day so everyone can stop by and introduce themselves. Tomorrow, I'll lock the "Forum Reforms" discussion thread and we can move that discussion over here.

 

Just dropping by to be the first to introduce myself to those that don't know me. I hope I can do the RPF forum justice... It's an honour to be included in the council!

First off, it was an honor even being nominated to the Council and an even larger one being chosen and I just thought I'd introduce myself.

 

I'm the unofficial lamington provider.



Oh, and I'm here too. I'd love to reiterate what has been said above me?as this is truly a great honour?but then... well, you've already read it once. So let's just say I'm loving it here in the RPF and I hope to be of some use.

The Council looks good; I hope we achieve many goals together and I look forward to working/discussing with you all.

Greetings my fellow players and viewers of the RPF at large. It is my honor to be placed in this Community Council and I would formerly like to applaud all those that have both worked on the idea already and that have been chosen for the Council. The RPF is a wonderful place to be and at present is full of wonderfully skilled roleplayers with fantastic imaginations and memories.

I look forward to being able to assist in the reforming of this forum so that even more talented players can join us and that the potential of others can be tapped in due time.

We have a ridiculous number of sticky threads already.

 

I know, that's why the question. My only concern is that it doesn't get... lost. For the new people, I mean. Seeing the state of affairs in the community would interest me if I was arriving for the first time.

Although, your name isn't too hard to spot out amongst the other authors....

Hello alls! Introductions, oh yes. Imperial_Hammer, Mad Scientist of the RPF, pleasure to meet you alls and a true honor to be nominated to this position inside the RPFCC. For those who don't know me, my specialities lies in Game Creation and Villainous RPing, among other things . And my PM box is always open to the weary traveler if you ever need to get ahold of me, or just wish to run ideas past someone or whatever. I love reading first posts so send them on by!

And as to my friends and fellow Councilmen, might I give you all a hearty and heart-felt congratulations for getting here. NP surely chose correctly in electing such a talented and well composed group of people here. I'm tickled pink at the concept of working closely with you all, and have nothing but the highest of hopes for the future!

Well, never was any good at intros... I'm Sith_Lords (S_L or Sithy for short) and I am your friendly British Rper. I don't really specialise in any particular areas, and at the moment am in only a few RPGs, due to being an overworked GM in System Lords 3 , but I am dedicated, and will make sure I get the job done. It's an honour to be placed on the council, and I hope I can help. Congrats to everyone else who made it!

NP: Do we get titles for this?

 

What's up? As you might be able to tell from the name to your left of the screen, i'm slumvillage. How did I come up with that name? Just drop me a PM and ask if you want, unless you already know.

It is a great honour, as everyone has stated above and more will below, to be one the RPF Community Council. It will add to my already overbooked schedule with RPG's and also RL which isn't Darth RL to me as that sounds more terrible than it really is. I cannot wait to work with everyone on the Council and everyone on the RPF period. If there is anything you need from me, just PM me. Don't worry, I won't bite. Just bark alot.

I would just like to condradulate all that made it onto the council. I hope that this council does what it was made to do. CONGRATS!

Well we only had two stickies for a long time-- one was "The Community Centre" and it had (still does, actually) all the important links at the very top. As far as I can tell, it didn't work, 'cause people were still asking me where to find all the important threads.

Really though, Congrats to all of you who were elected.

 

DVC, after six months and our terms have ended, should this council still prove worthy of continuance you may have your chance for election then. I look forward to having a thorn in my side...keeps me awake.

 

I imagine I'm the Council member that fewest people can really say "yeah, I know that user".

So here's my brief intro.

DarthIntegral prefers to read a thread and get to know users that way, instead of posting and interacting. I've got a history of reading through many threads before I start posting and/or joining them. I've read through many RPG's on these boards, many more than I've participated in (which isn't a hard number to achieve, honestly). In fact, I've probably read more RPG's that were locked before this account signed up, than I've joined. Call me a lurker, call me a reader, call me a student of the games ... they all fit me pretty well.

I'm excited to be on the council, and excited to see where we can bring this forum.

Just dropping in real quick to say hello. Was gone earlier today at a pre-op for surgery on Monday.

I'm sure most of you don't know me, or haven't even seen my screen name here before, but I'm the creator of all the Lord of the Rings RPGs. I've played in many rpgs, too many to list, but if you're ever curious, check my posted messages. Truthfully, I'm shocked to be nominated for this. But thank you to who nominated me.

Anyway, I'm glad to be in the council with such great people, and I look forward to working with you all.

 

Congratulations to all those nominated and especially those elected. May your maiden voyage be all that you hope for and more.

 

Greetings, fellow RPers and GMs! I'm Dubya_Scott. Let's see... A little about myself...

I've been in the RPF for as long as (or almost as long as) I've been registered. I'm known for creating the successful "Star Wars...007 style" RPG's. (Stop by some time. You may enjoy it.) After joining my first RP here on the boards, I had no idea that I would like it this much. I'm now posting practically every day. It's really a lot of fun. And, as everyone else has mentioned, it's an honor to be chosen for the first-ever RPF Community Council. I'm also happy to see that some of the other members on this Council I am already good friends with.

Just for the heck of it... Outside the boards (in real life) I am a student of animation. Some day you'll see my name in the credits of a cartoon (television and/or film).
