RPR Archive The RPF Summer Challenge

Hammer, I´ll address it, as nobody else does. A week is good for a game and even better for a CS. But if I want to send in more than a rough assembly of ideas I need for this thing a little longer. I know RachelTyrell thinks the same and I speak for her, too.

I hearby ask for another week. So two contests will be decided in the week following this one. And we can give our idea the finishing touch.

Ok so!

Third Challenge is still going, as per the request of the User Base...

But we shall stick on schedule and I shall put out the 4th Challenge as well. It is particularly fortuitous that this one is a little less "hands-on" that the Philosophy Challenge, so people interested in doing both can multitask.

I have received no entries for the Philosophy Challenge btw. Might be an easy win if someone wants to do it!

The Fourth Challenge

So this is a challenge to test both the strength you have in evaluating posts and your ability to find good posts. It has to be in a game, in either of the forums from any time. Its likely it won't be yours, but if you think you're at the top of the RPF's skill curve and are particularly proud of a piece of work, you most certainly can submit a post of your own. Its called a field challenge because contestants go out into the field and hunt for the best posts. Think of it like a post safari.

- Strength of specimen
----- Writing Quality
----- Strength of RPing Skill

Thats all! Its a straight-up quality slugfest!

The Philosophy challenge is up until this Saturday, yeah?

 

Finding a post to submit is hard, it's not that finding good quality work is difficult....but choosing the best of the best is.

 

Right, I'm definitely submitting something for both Challenges. Let's have plenty of entries this time around!

 

ooo... i already have a pretty good idea of what game i'm getting something from, and who's post it'll be... i like.

also, i will have something for the philosophy one. i've got something in mind for it.

Glad to see there is some interest this time around!

So far I have had 2 (maybe 3) entries for the Field Challenge, and still none for the philosophy challenge.

Both challenges still end on Saturday.

Ditto! And that was a hard graft, thinking of posts that impressed me, and then trying to track them down.

Think I chose a good one though.

 

I must say the post that impressed me most I just read recently. So, it wasn´t that hard to find . . .

Any Non Star Wars cartoon that aired on Nickelodeon, the Disney Channel, or the Cartoon Network in the 1990s and 2000s qualifies for this contest. If the cartoon you wish to do a game on was not shown on these channels, PM me first for approval. Movies are not approved for this contest, but cartoon franchises based on movies are. If you choose to do one of these, you must include elements from the cartoon to make it extremely clear that you are not drawing solely from the movie.

Regarding the entries for Challenges #3 and #4:

Now that is what I like to see. This is the Summer Challenge truly living up to its potential.

Lots of excellent entries, and even from a cursory glance I can tell that competition is intense. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy reading through 'em.

Wow, Hammer´s entry sounds pretty much like a direct reaction to Codex09 Hammer, if you would like to, please repost it in the Codex-forum. I think it might spawn some pretty good discussion.

Can´t wait to see what Rachel gotta say about it. As one of the Codex-Inventors I heard her lately making some similar remarks, but also some of the contrary. I must say I am drawn between both sides.

 

Can the late 80's count as the 90's?

 

This "first post" business, we are presenting it as if we were the GM?
