Are you sure it was a skunk, and not The Guy going for a walk?[face_laugh]

Carpet Mill was more expensive. We had Custom Carpet close to what we wanted to pay last night, but they wouldn't budge anymore. We have hardwood floors right now and wouldn't need to tear out old carpets. All of the prices include tear out, but I want it cheaper since they won't be doing that for us.

My father-in-law, aka The Negotiator, is going to see what they will offer him for the carpet we want.

huh. Maybe we didn't shop around enough but I thought 3 places would have been enough to give us a general idea of the pricing.

We checked 3 places: Kenny Carpets, Custom Carpet, and The Carpet Mill.

I didn't think it would cost so much to buy something to walk on![face_money_eyes]

Yeah tell me about it. We had to get a premium pad too because it was going in our basement (concrete floor) and wanted something a little "softer" for when Felicia fell down (she does that a lot :)).

Each place has a very wide range of pricing on their pads. If we don't get any progress with my Mindy's Dad helping, maybe we will go back to the Mill and see if they have a similar rug like the one we like at Custom Carpet.

    How was their service?

It was good. We had to delay the installation twice because I wasn't as far along in the renovation as I thought I would be and it wasn't a problem.

There was a guy who followed us in to the store when we went there. He was there to pick up a new piece of carpet because it was not installed correctly. We were a little deterred when we heard that.

you could have told them to raise the price of the carpet and then got some free toys out of it.
