The SciFi/Fantasy Movie Wish List

Here we talk about the Science Fiction and Fantasy movies we wish would be made whether it looks possible or if there's no chance in hell of seeing it. Personally I'd want to see a series of Starcraft movies made based off of the computer game. Next would be movies based off of the Magic: The Gathering card games.

 

Come out with The Hobbit already....

 

I'd really like to see Ender's Game made into a movie. Or perhaps Fred Saberhagen's Book of the Swords.

 

Rox, they *are* making Ender's Game into a movie.

Unfortunately (IMO), they're also combining it with the first book in the Bean saga. What is it, there isn't enough material in Ender's Game itself? It's an entire novel, for goodness sakes...

The2ndQuest, I saw that you mentioned Starcraft. For some reason I could see something done with that along the lines of Star Wars. have several movies or "episodes" like there are for each campaign. what do you think? you could create some real cliffhanger endings with some of them. especially if you put on screen the bonus level from Brood War with Zeratul discovering the protoss/zerg hybrid

I'd like to see Wyrms. Before anyone tells me it sucks I wouldn't actually know. I picked it up at a comic store the other day and didn't even realize it was an adaptation. I liked what I saw though and from the way it was portrayed in the comic it would make a beautiful movie.

I'd really like to see Sci-Fi continue out the Dune series.

 

if World of Warcraft does well then i think we got a damn good chance of seeing Starcraft on the big screen. though not as popular i see it as another Star Wars

Buffy/Angel on the big screen.

A Star Trek movie with Q on the big screen (He's the only big time Trek 'villian' not to get a big screen treatment. The Suliban on Enterprise don't count).

I'm starting to read 1632, and I would love to see that on the big screen.

 

I'm a fan of Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy and would love to see The Restaurant At the End of Universe made into a feature film. Even a straight to DVD production would be nice if done correctly.

 

I'd like to see a film version of Philip K Dick's short story "Second Variety". It would have to be tweaked (as it takes place in a future where the Soviet Union still survives), but I bet it could be done.

 

I'm assuming you want a buffy movie with the tv show cast, not just any cast, as a buffy movie has already been made, that came out before the tv show began.

I would also like to see a KOTOR trilogy.

A Hobbit movie.

George R.R. Martin's Wild Cards series of books to film, or at least a well budgeted series on HBO.

Ringworld(In development hell from what I understand).

Fred Saberhagen's Berserkers could be done.

Rendevous With Rama(Also in development hell).

Larry Niven's man Kzin Wars could make a great scifi series.

 

An Equilibrium prequel. That would kick ***.
