Past couple of finals have looked like this:

Sids team over Mace team
Sids team over Luke team
Luke team over Luke team
Sids team over Luke team

I believe that the pick #, respectively, was #3-#5, #3-#1, #2-#1, #3-#1 (was Hand #3?) 3rd placers have been (IIRC) Luke #2/Dooku #7 (I think), Yoda #2/Revan #4, Kun #7/Revan #5, and Kenobi #7/Luke #1. This all seems to show that:

1. Luke and Sids are crazy good.
2. Top picks, because they give you Luke and Sids, are helpful.
3. Seeing as there's a lot of #7's on that last, my memory stinks or that shows something.
4. No rookie has cracked the finals, 3 have made it to a semi (me, Mekot, Ken).

So, think about that next draft.

I'm going to win, and use all of your corpses as a walkway to get there. That's what I'm thinking is going to happen next draft

 

Windu, you only wish. I got the freakin' next to last pick and I kicked everyone's ass in the Tatooine Conference. Even if I get stuck with the 7th or 8th pick, you better pray you're in Alderaan next Draft...

Well, the last 2 people to have been non-GM participants before GMing have each built damned good teams and lost close matches in the semifinals (Ken and yours truly), and it looks like that's going on in the SFD at the moment with Jello.

EDIT: Oh, and that may be a sign-- be a judge next installment, NYJ, and then GM.

 

Hand is the first to accomplish something.

Hand is the first person to win the draft that didn't have a top three pick (4th pick) since Madine in the first draft.

 

True, but Jello judged for two rounds. He had quite a bit of expierence with the draft.
