The Shadow Rising by Robert Jordan - sorry, Modesitt, but Jordan is classic, and this was one of the better (IMO) of the WoT books.

The Hero strikes Back by Moira J. Moore - love her and this book; it's really funny. I'm sure it'll lose, but seriously, if you haven't checked it out, do - it's a pretty quick read.

The Unhandsome Prince by John Moore - my favorite of his books.

Son of the Shadows by Juliet Marillier - one of my favorite books - once was my favorite book

Magic of Recluce - as much as I love Wheel of Time, the Recluce series is also one of my all-time favorites. And as the signature book of the series, I have to go with it.
