Paul opened the current leg of his On The Run tour last night in Abu Dhabi. Only 21 days till I get to see him again.

21 days. Jeez. This far out and I'm already getting insanely excited. [face_frustrated]

It's funny that they only point to Helter Skelter on that album.

The other day I was just thinking how heavy the song Honey Pie was.

A wonderful, wonderful concert. Didn't get back home until 3am on Tuesday morning! :p No time for online until this evening.

    Paperback Writer
    Long and Winding Road
    Come and Get It
    Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five
    Maybe I'm Amazed
    I've Just Seen A Face
    I Will
    Blackbird
    Here Today
    (dedicated to John)
    Dance Tonight
    Mrs Vanderbilt
    Eleanor Rigby
    Something
    (dedicated to George)
    Band on the Run
Ob la di, Ob la da
    Back in the USSR
    I Gotta Feeling
A Day in the Life / Give Peace A Chance
    Let it Be
    Live and Let Die
    Hey Jude

    Encore:
The Word / All You Need Is Love
    Day Tripper
    Get Back
(joined on stage by Ronnie Wood)

    Second Encore:
    Yesterday
    Helter Skelter
Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight / The End

I was amazed when Ronnie Wood came on to join in with Get Back. My Dad (who I went with) is a massive Stones fan. He nearly fell over with excitement! :p

It was a much better concert than at Cardiff last year. A lot of that was to do with the performance space. A football stadium will - with the best will in the world - always be a football stadium. The O2 is purpose built and it shows.

Here are a few videos I took, but to be honest they're bettered by pretty much all the other videos already on YouTube of the concert. Plus, my camera didn't take too kindly to the harsh lighting and bleached out a lot of the brightest parts (as you can see). So sorry about that. :p

The first is Something from start to finish. The second is a section of I Will. The third is a section of Get Back. All three go up to 'HD' on the player.

    Something.

    I Will.

Get Back. (the bloke I turn the camera to face midway though is my Dad)

    Magic. :D

So he didn't do his Christmas song? Disappointing. I'd get a refund.

Going from Yesterday to Helter Skelter? Wow, talk about going from 0 to 60 in no time flat!

    Beyond gorgeous. Georgeous. [face_love] [face_love] :_| [face_love]

One of my favourites, but I like to play it in a very slow, bluesy style. :)

I see what you did there. :p

EDIT: I should say that although having Ronnie Wood play on Get Back was really cool, when McCartney introduced him he first teased that he had a "surprise for you" [the audience]... "none other than...". The first name that flashed through my head was Ringo. :p That would've been ten times as awesome.
