I wasn't blaming the victims. I am wondering where the hell he finds women so desperate to be with him.

I don't think they're desperate to be with him. That's a really *****y word to say in that context anyway.

His ex-wife committed perjury for him. She stuck with him for a long time after he'd gone off the deep end. She also withdrew charges.

This other chick has lied to him about her being pregnant, accused him of violence, withdrawn the charges, and apparently wants to get back together.

There's someone for everyone I guess.

Al Sharpton basically summed up my feelings very articulately:

"We must be very careful not to glorify or in any way sidestep the implications of making someone whose only claim to fame was killing an unarmed young man named Trayvon Martin into a cultural celebrity or hero," he said in a statement about Zimmerman, obtained by the Daily News.

"It is perfectly legal for him to exploit his fame but we should never forget what he is famous for and not behave like he is a celebrity based on gifts or talent or contributions to society."

I haven't posted on this yet, so here goes...

The leftist media ran this story into the ground, painting Zimmerman as a white racist who shot Martin just for the hell of it. News flash, people: Zimmerman was Latino, and Trayvon was beating his head into the pavement (there's photos to prove it). I don't care what color their skin is...when someone violently assaults you, you do what's necessary to stop the threat. Its always a tragedy to see children die, but sometimes it can't be avoided while assuring the actual victim's safety.

    I agree with you.

Still doesn't mean this boxing match is a good idea or respectful to the deceased Trayvon Martin, or his surviving relatives.

Sharpton is 100% right. One certainly can't begrudge Zimmerman doing everything he can to earn enough money to pay his overwhelming legal debts, but the idea of him being cast as a "celebrity" when his claim to fame is a very dubious acquittal for the murder of a teenage boy is simply grotesque.

I hope this idea goes the way of Simpson's similarly grotesque "If I Did It" project. Can't we, as a society, make a collective decision to let dubiously acquitted killers simply live a life a shameful ignominy for the rest of their lives? Sheesh.

I'm sure Apperson was smashing Zimmerman's head into a sidewalk and he had no choice.

Zimmerman didn't do nothing. He was going to college. Do you know how hard it was to get him to graduate?

Yeah, seriously. The guy's an *******, he's gonna end up in prison sooner or later for being so trigger happy. And it's gonna be so satisfying when that happens.

He is an unconvicted murderer who is prone to violence and much too in love with firearms. All of this was clear at the time of his original trial. Sad on a number of levels.
