    Finally....

Apparently the premise is that Bender travels back in time to kill Bart.

    That ought be a hoot.

This after they announced that they're doing a crossover with Family Guy (oh god why).

Coming up next, The Flintstones meet The Jetsons.

Ugh. I can't stand the simpsons. This will tarnish all the good of futurama.

It's technically going to be a Simpsons episode so you don't have to worry about it existing in the Futurama timeline.

Edit: As I think about this post I realized that the FG crossover will be in that show's timeline so maybe my "oh god why" is contradictory. But maybe it's because they've always been competing shows whereas Simpsons/Futurama obviously have some of the same staff.

And to think Matt Groening objected to The Critic crossover back in the show's glory days so much, he took his name off the episode's credits....

I should clarify that when I refer to 'New Simpsons', I'm referring to anything after 1998.

Since the last season of Futurama will end this summer, this crossover will (probably) be the last "Futurama episode" ever. Oh boy.

Futurama should have replaced The Simpsons, allowing it to end when it was still great. Instead Futurama ends and The Simpsons goes on long past its sell-by date

I haven't yet, but how can one crappy crossover ruin many, many episodes of quality entertainment? It would be along to saying that The Godfather Part III ruined the quality of the first 2 entries in that trilogy... I don't think that it did.

I'm not saying I agree that one bad episode of a TV show can ruin many episodes of (what an individual may perceive to be) top quality entertainment... but I do happen to think that a poor third entry in a film trilogy can taint the previous two installments (even if the other installments were lauded upon their release). Particularly if all three films are part of one overall story. A three part tale is far more vulnerable to disturbance by single poor entry than an lengthy series of standalone episodes.

In theory, sure, but it's easy to just ignore Part III & keep the focus on the first two Godfather films. But to be fair, it's almost a bad example, because for all the crap it gets, there are things to enjoy about Part III.

People tell me, "The Simpsons isn't as good as it was 10 years ago. I say, neither are you."

The worst part is that the Simpsons are going to appear in the Family Guy universe and not the other way around. The last time the family was "on" Family Guy, it was a "joke" where Quagmire raped Marge and killed them all.

But I don't really care about Simpsons. I think the newest material I watched all the way through was the movie.
